Paul Pogba / turned down United offer of 300k as “nothing”

For this video there are one or two videos showing supporters frustrated with him. Don't think this means anything. Let's see if they still give him this sort of reaction when he starts putting in his usual sluggish performances.

Was sluggish today. Losing the ball and giving bad passes.

Yep he was very popular in the area I was in something he didn't acknowledge more than once

A few calls for him to sign the contract when he made it onto the pitch in the 2nd half
Good to hear. Tbh chances are they'll be very happy in coming weeks/months, while Messi circus reaching new levels, everyday now.

Can't really judge anyone in pre-season. I just do not think he will be consistently good during the actual league season anyway. He never has been during his time here. 2 or 3 good games every 10 games just does not cut it.

I agree. I think as well it is psychology. He just is not fired up 60 percent of the time. Sort of like Martial as well.

Someone asked if we should sign Messi so I was giving my opinion. I watch a lot La Liga football.

Thanks for telling people about a player who is probably one of, if not the best player of all time who we have all seen play for the last 15 years.

Who is your next scouting report on? Ronaldo?

I’m certain you’re a troll poster anyway.

If you think a player has no control over what the agent he employs says about him, you probably shouldn’t advise others on head-use.
Does a criminal tell his lawyer what the defense strategy should be? The only thing Pogba can do is privately tell his agent he doesn’t like the strategy or fire him.

Use your head.

Fantasy  fecksake the tripe you come out with. The player can tell his agent NOT to disrespect the club that he apparently loves, don't try and pretend Pogba is some powerless slave to Raiola who has free reign.

Even at the time ex players were on a panel wondering why Pogba didn't at a minimum speak out to distance himself from what Raiola was saying. Unless you think these ex players don't know how the game works or how player agent relationships are, you are completely misguided.
If you seriously think a player is going to speak out publicly against his representative even if he disagrees with his strategy then you are living in a alternate reality.

Interesting. I thought Pogba pays Raiola not the other way around.

Out of all things that surprise me on this forum, the thing I cannot understand the most is how people think a player and his agent are two different entities.
They are two different entities. One represents the other, advises his client, and devises a strategy to get the client what he wants. They don’t share the same mouth, nor is the agent a puppet.

It’s completely inane to think a player will speak out publicly against his agent he still employs. Exactly what does that achieve?

Not horrible considering Sancho is not a superstar in comparsion to Pogba. Pogba is "supposedly" to be up there with the very best in the world according to football fans. Sancho's is about to taste what is feels like you be a star at United. Pogba on the other hand cant even get his preffered club Madrid to put in an offer over the last 3 years.

People will find out shortly. If Utd doesn't cave in and offer him stupid wages, no one other than PSG or Juventus will offer him one either. Real, Barca or Bayern are not touching him even if he was a free agent.

You probably find yourself very intelligent, and constantly surrounded by idiots, or so it appears. You also seem to think that a prosecuted can’t instruct her lawyer about the defence if she wants to. You also seem to think that the relationship between a player and an agent is like that of a prosecuted a lawyer. This makes it seem like you have a lot to learn, and maybe asking questions would be a better way to use your head than trying to provide exoertise for others and hand out insults. You did seem to get that Paul Pogba actually can tell his agent what strategy to use, and has the power to fire him if he doesn’t, so I’d say you’re in a good position to put two and two together and see what you get.

if this comes across as condescending, it’s because I’m trying to answer in kind, and be really thorough so as to avoid further misunderstandings. Have a good day.

There you have it why people blame (partially) Pogba for this situation. An agent represents the player, therefore nobody should believe Pogba had nothing to do with Raiola speaking publicly about PP wanting to leave. Q
It has nothing to do with speaking against the agent, but keeping his mouth shut even if he's working on a move.
Raiola made this comment with specific intensions, it's not like he just answered a question in small talk conversation.

I follow La Liga quite closely and what I can tell you is he’s an exceptional player - really good with the ball at his feet, lethal finisher and can pick a really decent pass - I’m talking maybe even Scholesy level passing. Much as I’d like to see us sign him I’m not sure there’s a place for him - he’d either occupy the CF role that we already have Cavani for (not sure there’s much point in having 2 players for the same role with 1-2 season left in them each) or the Bruno role which, well, we have Bruno for.
Are you giving a scout report on Lionel fecking Messi?

Could easily see him signing a new deal with us if things go well this season. Think he'd much rather win things and be a success here than for PSG.
What have you based this conclusion on, if you don’t mind me asking? Pogba has shown he’s not the type to get going when the going gets tough. He seems to like the easy ride, PSG seem to suit him perfectly. He can play without discipline and look good doing his fancy flicks and tricks, in a league that won’t punish him for it. He’s said and done nothing to show that he’s committed to this club in the long term. If anything, everything that’s come out of Raiola’s mouth indicates otherwise. Iirc Raiola even questioned publicly if United were good enough for Pogba.

Because he's quite obviously got more affection for us than PSG? Even those who question his time here would probably agree with that. He wants us to have better players and win things, guess what, so do I. That's not me defending his form overall with us because its been patchy as feck.

All the stuff about him being comfortable and happy in Manchester and at United all just feels like very convenient PR. Yeah I eh love it here now all of a sudden, ignore that I was offered to every club under the sun previously. Come January after a few good performances it’ll be the clubs fault for not offering him enough. His team is just feeding the media the kind of info that’ll inevitably make it look like the club didn’t try hard enough to keep him. He’s never settled here. He’s already refused a massive contract that goes beyond what he’s given us because he’s not settled or committed here. He either goes on a free or gets massively overpaid by us. Suddenly feeling settled here after 10 years has nothing to do with it. PSG aren’t bidding for him because they are going for Messi so we are stuck with each other for one more season at least. I hope he starts playing like one of the best players in the league week in week out otherwise we are having our pants pulled down either way.

Let's be honest here. He would've never joined us in the first place if that was the case. He left a Juve team that was in the UCL final/Serie A winners to play in the Europa league. You can say what you want about his performances on the pitch and whether he's a good fit or not. But the fact is he wanted to come here even though we were a shadow of the team we once were. To me, that shows he does have affection for the club.

More and more sensible posts at last. It's all PR game, and it's clearly working.

Or the money?

With Messi about to sign for PSG that eliminates any chance of Pogba going there which realistically means the only place for Pogba to go now is Madrid. I highly doubt Ancelotti would want him or his wages at Madrid.

Why not, Pogba has a bigger fan following than PSG. Qatar would love to bring him in even after Messi.

This season, no chance. Next season, he will be a free agent, so anyone that offers him a huge wage and a good fee to Raiola.

Why does everyone assume he won't go to another EPL club? After his contract with us ends, I'm sure Chelsea or City would take him.

Think that Messi deal has pretty much ended any chance of him being sold now. Rightly or wrongly, we're going to end up seeing him stay on a huge new contract or being let go for free. Either are far from ideal

I’m not sure what this means but if this was an attempt an insult then ok.

You also seem to think that a prosecuted can’t instruct her lawyer about the defence if she wants to. You also seem to think that the relationship between a player and an agent is like that of a prosecuted a lawyer.
They can but they don’t. At best, a lawyer lays out general strategies but he’s not telling his client exactly what he’s going to say. Go ask any lawyer. The point is legal representation usually doesn’t outline in detail what they will say to their client. If you honestly think this I’m not sure what to tell you.

This makes it seem like you have a lot to learn, and maybe asking questions would be a better way to use your head than trying to provide exoertise for others and hand out insults.
Again unsure what this means but which insults are those exactly? I think you’re projecting.

You did seem to get that Paul Pogba actually can tell his agent what strategy to use, and has the power to fire him if he doesn’t, so I’d say you’re in a good position to put two and two together and see what you get.
See the second response and already said he could fire him but of course you know that’s not the point.

if this comes across as condescending, it’s because I’m trying to answer in kind, and be really thorough so as to avoid further misunderstandings. Have a good day.
You are mistaken if you think I’m concerned about an anonymous person on the internet throwing passive aggressive shade.

TLDR version: Use your head (advise not an insult )

Here for the season at least so the fans need to support him!

If he leaves on a free so be it, nothing wrong with that.

If he signs a new contract even better.

Really dont think the club will offer him any more than whats already been offered (350k/w). I dont think they see him as an absolute integral part of the squad anymore, and rightly so

Yes but they don’t share the same mouth. Do you honestly think Pogba told his agent to insult Manchester United? Do you honestly think he sent him a transcript of what he was going say to the press before he said it?

Again why does everyone believe that one report by an unreliable journalist?

Just hope this circus doesn't derail our season. Can't wait till he runs down the contract and finally fecks off

Toxic attitudes like this are apart of the "Circus"

The fans hysteria over nothing has always been the real Circus. Mad how they haven't copped that yet haha

PP staying is bad for Man United? I don't quite get it.

He can leave on a free or sign a new contract, but PSG being priced out and Madrid/Juve/Barca out of contention is a good thing. It basically limits Paul's options going forward to a minimum. Unless he goes to a domestic rival which seems unlikely at this point.

Sorry I haven't kept up with this speculation much but why are they are out of the running? One of those two seemed the most likely to me if he were to leave United, i'm sure Juve would love to have him back especially if Ronaldo left the club.

As for the other elite clubs, Bayern wouldn't want all that business that accompanies him and I can't see him picking another English club.
