For trivia purposes - Kalam Mooniaruck was our first Muslim player (as far as I know) back in 99/00ish. He was a reserve so it may not count. In terms of first teamers, it would have to be Diouf.
how on earth do you know that?!

For a religiously pious and practicing person, thats an absurd statement as religion and religious practices precede everything for them.

If a muslim footballer decided to fast during ramadan and it impacted his performance, his employer should take not hold that against him. If its such a concern, that person should not be employed in the first place. Any person has every right to meet the requirements of their faith.

Not sure about that last sentence. I kind of like Super Sundays. If one of the christian United players started slaughtering Phil Jones during the match it'd put a whole dampner on my afternoon.

Anyways, Islam allows for people to catch up missed fasts, if there life is endangered in performing their profession whilst fasting. Im not sure how religiously practicing Pogba is, but if he missed ramadan fasts and wanted to clear his conscience, he can catch them up during his free days and holidays.

Funny thing, Euan Murray doesn't play on Sundays.

Strange that the thread about our most exciting transfer in recent history is now about inches and Ramadan.

Wikipedia says Dave's 6'4" and Pogba's 6'3". It's better to believe fachts than someone force-feeding their opinions to others
Nah. I think Pogba is a bit taller.

But by looking at these pics Dave is clearly taller? Look at the eyeline.

Wikipedia is not reliable, especially for trivial things such as height.

This thread is certainly bloody weird now anyway  roll on Sunday...

You silly cow. On the second pix, Ibra has to bend down a bit and still a bit taller than DDG. Compare that to the first one, where Ibra standing normal, while Pogba was leaning on him; otherwise look like they are on the same height.

It's quite stupid to judge someone's height from a photo because of posture like for example having your knees buckled.

Wayne Rooney has no interest in 72 virgins. He prefers them properly broken in. I mean really, really, ridiculously broken in.

You some sort of height expert? Do you measure people for a living? Some eye for detail on you boy.

Bailly's clearly taller than all anyway.

 damn. I spent so much time staring at guys pictures. Where's that SFW thread.

Can't believe this thread... I chose to binge read the last ten pages and it contained people panicking about Pogba leaving us for Madrid (He's only just joined us?) his height in comparison to De Gea (what?) and then to top it all off a discussion about the biggest load of... erm, a discusion about religion ;)

Anyone have any thoughts about I don't know, what he's going to do out on the pitch?

I saw on the news thing on Fifa today that the bookies have him as 11/4(?) or something to score ten or more league goals for us. Anyone think he's capable of providing ten league goals for us from the midfield? I believe he had a fantastic final three months for Juve last season and if he hits the ground running with us here this season then I don't see how he won't. Despite the fact he will most likely be playing in a two man midfield, I expect him to have a real licence to push forward for us with Wayne dropping deep covering for him when he does burst forward. Any thoughts?

Agreed.

I knew this too. Except that he never played any games for the senior team, thus I didn't mention him.

If people were arguing about the height of pogba and dave in the mega thread then they would more than likely been exiled to siberia to live in a small mining community

Now that we have settled Pogba is a christian, how about Ibrahimovic-ain't that a muslim name?

Today in the Pogba thread we talked about religion and height.

Jesus wept.

Weirdly I actually know him in real life (or knew him, no idea whats happened to him in the past 5-10 years). Moved down this way when he was nearly finished with his United career and before he joined Braintree and then Bishop's Stortford.

I always used to be so excited as a kid to talk to him about United and all the players he played with and what they were like and stuff but he seemed to absolutely despise United after he was released. Think he was a Liverpool fan too.
