Not even just the league, who is really better in Europe?
Dont mean to over hype Pogba, he hasn't really set the world alight consistently here, just dont remember many superstar midfielders performing week in week out in recent months. Maybe the lockdown screwed my memory too much, but which midfielders are really, clearly better than him in Europe? Kroos, De Bruyne, maybe Verratti or Thiago (not sure how those two have been lately)

Yeah it's always funny seeing people cream themselves for players who have half Pogba's abilities from other teams yet when they come in here they proceed to dismiss him as a player.

All to do with hive mentality if you ask me.

He’s been painted as ‘flirting’ with other teams so [in my opinion] a number of fans have a pissing contest over their club loyalty & entrench themselves to an anti-Pogba stance they won’t move from. Similar to the same tired argument some fans use when discussing Rooney, ‘he asked to leave so feck him’ :boring:

When we sign a player who ‘dreamed of playing for United’, or ‘would love to play for United’ do we question their loyalties to their previous employers or are we simply happy to get them - it’s bloody hypocrisy.

While a player is at the club we should be doing our upmost to support them surely.
 
In Pogba, AWB, Maguire, Bruno, Rashford......Martial, Shaw we have some top players finally.

This is a point I was typing (then deleted) in the United thread. This topic has become so emotive that I think hard stances have been taken on either end and it has almost become about which side wins. Almost forgotten amongst it all is that the player in question is one of our players. An academy one at that.

Whatever people think of him, he still wears our shirt, and I can’t help but get the impression that there is almost a latent hope of failure at times in order to validate or confirm opinion. But he’s one of ours, from the academy at that - and I don’t think he’s ever got any ‘he’s a United player’ privilege, at least on here. I’m always arguing with others who are more keen to discredit his qualities than praise them, or downplay him in comparison to other teams players in a way that isn’t common on here. Usually, if there’s any sort of debate between on of ours and another team’s - the board has an overwhelming home advant I’ve seen people arguing roundabout ways to say RvN was better than Henry (at the time) on here, for example. That kind of ‘defending one of our players’ I don’t think has ever really been afforded to Pogba, it would usually be more a passionate argument of the case of Henry instead (in equivalent terms).

You can’t help think that (probably human nature to be fair) that there will be people watching today with their ‘Pog-ball giveaway-O-meters’ in their hand, and in their focus, they totally miss other players they presumably like more giving the ball away, letting a player past them etc.

He’s 27 and has spend the majority of his professional career at the club, but a lot of people have convinced themselves that he has no affinity at all. In fact, since his return, people seem to think he has some sort of greater connection to Real Madrid than Manchester United. He’s never really got that ‘United player’ love, he’s been a Madrid player on loan since the rumours of his return started and they all dismissed the possibility and couldn’t see why he’d want to come here and not go to Real Madrid.
 
Pogba is the creator of the supporters animosity towards him. If he really cared to be here, he would just shut his mouth and play but instead he and his agent have mouthed off the club angling for a move. Obviously Raiola has been far worse but who do think is enabling and permitting that disgusting behaviour from Raiola? It is a testament to Bruno and his personality that within 2 months of his arrival most are not all concerned about Pogba leaving. Pogba is getting a good check on his ego.

Exactly. A concept unfortunately lost on some on these boards. Too busy trying to meet their Pogba hate quota rather than getting behind the lads.

And yet he has had issues in this club from the beginning. When do we stop blaming everyone and everything for Paul Pogba? This club is under no obligation to bend to any player and the ones that have had disagreements are legends of the club so are given a bit of slack. In no way shape or form is Pogba near those players in stature at the club.
It's always been down to Pogba, even with Mourinho cnut behavior Pogba made it about himself sometimes. I remember our 1st goal of last season, penalty in the 1st 5 minutes and he didn't even celebrate, just turned and glared at the manager. So everyone should really stop absolving Pogba in that feud as I'm sure he was just as much of a childish prick as Mourinho.
The guy has it and as much as I think getting rid would benefit the club in the long run I want him to stay and do the business. This is football so all it takes is a good month with a badge kiss and Pogba is back in with all the supporters except for the few sour bastards.
He is world class, he has everything needed physically and can definitely be a leader. We just need him to do it consistently for Manchester United. It's looking like that maybe the case so hopefully we can all now be friends and enjoy this team again.

I love DeGea, for me the second greatest united keeper ever....BUT his form over the past two seasons is alarming. He’s thrown multiple goals in that I’d expect a Sunday league keeper to stop. So I can’t currently add him, but I’d hope he recovers.

I’m usually one of his biggest defenders but that was cowardly and could cost us big time!

I'd have done the same as him. It was a pen but I don't blame Pogba for doing that at all.

We should cut our losses with this guy, he shouldn’t be anywhere near this team, total coward.

He is talented enough but nowhere near good enough, his attitude and work rate stink. Honestly take what you can get for this clown and move on.
 
That incident sums up his Manchester United career, he won't take one for the team.

Anyone who's going to defend him after that absolute abomination needs to realise that to reach the top of the league you need all players willing to put their head where it hurts, sickening to see the coward do that when it'll be him who's onto his agent looking to get out as soon as top 4 is gone.

Protecting the face is not deliberate handball by the rules. Obviously in slow motion VAR makes it look like he had all the time in the world to decide to do it.
 
I wonder if I am the only one here that remembers Paul Scholes doing this exact same thing some years ago?
