Both clubs were willing to sell, and also, do you want to point out what their agents said, and how that is in any way comparable to what Raiola said? You are insinuating they were comparable quotes which lets be honest. They weren't. Raiola was a disrespectful cnut to a giant club and its laughable Pogba just sat silent, given an agent talks on behalf of his players.
He literally went out of his way to tell the press he's not allowed to talk to them. After Valencia if I'm not mistaken he went up to the press journalists waiting for post match interviews and told them "I''m not allowed to speak to you".
Post match vs Leicester, opening game of the season after winning the World Cup .
No one is outraged. But like every celebrity he will be judged when he makes his posts. It works both ways. If a manager publicly asks for his players to be more boring, and then shortly after certain players go out and post pics of shooting hoops whilst injured (not saying he's not injured, but doing that is just going to bring stupid attention and media stirr), then yes I think it's a case of him not thinking about the impact it has. Of course it isn't a crime, he can do what the feck he wants. But then we can also judge and think OK, McTominay was injured for months he never did this. Rashford I don't think has been quite so snappy causing a stirr while injured. Pogba isn't the only player to have a long term injury lay-off at our club, why is it only him that goes out and does this at at time where he has openly said he wanted to find a new challenge?
He's not a villain. No one called him one. I just said I'd rather not have his profile and prefer the likes of Bruno/Fed/McTominay/Maguire who are social enough but don't knowingly cause such a shit stir.
No one is asking that, or saying that. Rather we are curious as to what he achieves from choosing a club shirt from the club he's linked to (rather than the national shirt), at a time where speculation of him leaving the club is rife and where is agent is trying to force him out the club. He can wear what the feck he wants, I don't care. He can leave the club tomorrow, I won't care. I just find it interesting how in a long catalogue of Pogba related contraversies, he's faultless in every single one.
I didn’t say they were or were not comparable. You mentioned them as more preferable ‘profile’ of players you like (of which I still don’t think you have clarified). The main difference I see in profile is simply them being ‘lower’ profile. What their agents spoke of was their willingness to move. It was well known and well reported in the media. As for ‘Pogba sat in silence’, it’s again childish to demand him to take the podium and release some sort of official statement denouncing his agent. His manager has been asked a number of times, he’s said ‘I speak to Paul in private’ etc - fans are not children and do not need a statement for everything. He’s contracted to the club, not them, and for me, Im
And your ‘long-list of Pogba controversies’ are not controversies. Who decides this list? I’m not even saying he’s faultless in this particular controversy, I’m saying the fact he wore a Matuidi Juve shirt is not a controversy in the first place. For those who have their narratives, they will take it, add it to their ‘lists’.
And I’m not sure what you mean about Rash being ‘less snappy’ during injury. He was at the Super Bowl in Miami on the weekend of our game, taking photos with celebs within two weeks of being injured. And despite his carefully constructed tweet (especially in the wake of the accusations levelled at Pogba during his injury) - I’ve not seen him at one game yet. I have no clue what McTominay did while injured, and nobody cares either. Nobody would care if he was in Dubai, just as nobIsy cares that Rashford went to Miami. Scott may not have gone abroad, simply because he didn’t go abroad. Not every player will go abroad when injured. Enough of them have done for it to be acknowledged that some players go abroad.
Again, I don’t recall Pogba announcing he was unhappy at United after the Leicester game. I do remember him expressing his feelings about us playing defensively, but if you say he also expressed his unhappiness I again take your word for it.
For me, the issue is that fans are overanalytical and seem to treat football like WWE, and are fixated on some sort of storyline with goodies and baddies. Even the on field stuff is over analysed with everyone becoming professors on exactly what pass should be played when, where a player should move, ‘expected goal’ this and that. Players don’t ask to be part of a plot, outside of the pitch they live their lives. He could have worn a France shirt. He could have worn a Juventus one. Those are the two options. He might not even have a France shirt with Matuidi on in the house. I suspect if McTominay has contracted Corona, he’d have worn a United shirt, and not a Scotland one. The fact it’s even a conversation, where people feel entitled to input on how exactly his gesture should have been presented is ridiculous, and again, some fans would do well to step back into the real world for a bit.
