Paul Pogba | Back in full training

How I'd love that to be true, and the club just teases Raiola by having him on the bench a few times, sending him out to warm up, but never bring him on.

I would imagine 5 million to raiola is nothing. I'd rather pogba play if we need him tbh.

I think if my family were saying things in public that would annoy my employer I'd probably ask them to stop, yeah.
How do you know that he hasn't? Because they continue?

Raiola is a proven gobshite, so good luck shutting him up – he can't help himself.

I'd get it if they weren't close, but they gather the whole family together every time there is a possibility for it. We've seen it all thanks to Pogba's social media posts.

This is also not something new. Both Raiola and the Pogba brothers have been vocal since Mourinho's tenure. They questioned the manager then, just like they have been doing now. It's not a one off and it makes the club look weak, because we can't deal with such a consistent problem.

It sounds like people have forgotten how good Pogba really is. He would start as soon as he is back fit.

Having him and Bruno creating in the same team would be amazing, and teams would massively struggle against us.

I predict he will step up for us as towards the end of the season.

Personally ive not been impressed with his time here, so wont be too bothered when he's gone. It seems the rest of the team have moved on without him in the plans anyway. Ive seen glimpses of a top top player every 4/5 games, but generally when we have really needed him, hes been largely underwhelming. And the excuse the fanboys throw around about 'needing good players around him' doesnt hold up for me entirely. It hasnt seemed to bother bruno playing with the same guys. Ive always considered him a bit of a luxury player. Not a reliable man to build around. Not someone to pull you out of a hole.

I hope he does step up and eventually have a good Euros though (if they go ahead), as we will have more chance shifting him then and getting decent money. And when Lingard is gone we will be rid of Riaola hopefully for good

If Sancho had a brother who was making noise about wanting him at United, everyone would be donning their muppet hats and talking about him joining. When Pogba's brother makes noise about him going to Real, it means nothing.

Of course it means something. And Paul could very easily tell his brother to shut the feck up and show some respect to his current employer. It's not like they're estranged.

How do you know that he hasn't? Because they continue?

Raiola is a proven gobshite, so good luck shutting him up – he can't help himself.

If that was the case, there wouldn't be the deafening silence from the player himself. He could easily make a statement on social media distancing himself from comments made by his brother/agent.

Ehm what? While the rest of your post is sensible, it should be disregarded on the basis of this statement. Pogba is probably the most press resistant player in the league, on par with some City players who are also near the top.
Ok. I'd look to agree but the way I see it Pogba thrives when he has time on the ball. Pogba is strong, very agile for his size and has great technique but you'd be surprised by how often he crumbled in the nr.10 position in the PL. The tempo was simply too high for him to be effective when played there. He struggled to pick out passes quickly enough and got stifled by the pressure from defenders. He simply needs space. Pogba is extremely creative when the ball is at his feet when he has time to figure out something cool to do with it. You could argue he is similar to Scholes in that with his skills he is just more effective from a deeper position where the press is lighter. He can ride a challenge better than Scholes, but he can also be complacent and carelessly lose the ball, something Scholes would never do in that position.

If Ole is trying to build a culture in the squad of unselfish players who work for one another then how exactly does Pogba fit into that mould? It’s amusing seeing some of the comments here where some are suggesting that his supposed desire to leave are the views of his agent and brother and not necessarily his own. Can’t believe how easily some of our supporters are duped by Pogba who is furthering his own agenda by having others speak for him. Sell him and buy Graelish and Sancho, and be done with this big mistake.

If that was the case, there wouldn't be the deafening silence from the player himself. He could easily make a statement on social media distancing himself from comments made by his brother/agent.

When he was putting up pictures and videos of himself in hospital with his cast on people were still saying he was faking injury, he cant win no matter what he does.

What purpose would a public dispute between them serve?

If you think about it, even if the player doesn't want to leave and doesn't agree with what is being said, it still serves his future options well if these kind of statements continue. It could lead to interest from other clubs or a new contract at United, and staying silent allows him to play both hands.

Christ some fans are so insecure. Pretty much all top players flirt with other clubs sometimes. Ronaldo used to do it every season at Real. Messi has done it. Hazard did it at Chelsea. It's part of football and I have no idea why fans are so sensitive.

It's just playing the game. Pogba will either get a move away or he will sign a big new contract. Until then he is a United player. He also happens to be extremely good at what he does, so I have no idea why you wouldn't want him back playing in the squad.
I'm pretty sure Ronaldo never criticized the club or sent his agent and brother to do so.We were doing pretty horrible and it was humiliating having our
"best player" saying bad things about the club. There is a huge diferente between flirting and actually saying he needs and wants to leave for a better club.

He's literally never done any of that.

You kind of made my point for me. People are annoyed with him because of all the shit spouted by his agent and family. He doesn't deny any of their claims or distance himself from their comments. The only reason idiots are moaning about him faking injuries is because of all the rumours about his impending departure. Rumours being fuelled by his associates!

How do you know that he hasn't? Because they continue?

Raiola is a proven gobshite, so good luck shutting him up – he can't help himself.

The thing that gets me with Raiola, is that Paul Pogba employs him, so anything that comes out of his mouth could get him fired, especially without his clients consent.

Regarding his brother, we don’t know whether he has continued to tell him to be quiet behind the scenes so that one is a bit more murky.

Regardless I want him playing football mayches for our club.

Because ignoring injuries, particularly ankle injuries can be permanent damage.

It's not like the old days where players just play without specialist advices and ended up retiring early..

From Pogba's camp, he got specialist advice to do a surgery, he took that advice. Proper papers are provided to United to convince them this injury lay off. Can you blame him?

Maybe if you have issues with Pogba.

Make no mistake. I have major issues with Pogba. I just hope I’m right and we never see him in our colours again.

What difference would it make, if he came out with a statement people would probably accuse him of lying anyway.

I'd argue it and say that despite all he has done to make himself unlikeable to the fans of this club he can still change the opinion of many with just one action if he wanted.

Why would it have to be a dispute?

All he has to say is "The opinions of my brother and/or agent regarding my relationship with manchester united are completely seperate from mine"

Job done.

The purpose it would serve would be to stop idiots slagging him off on forums and social media and to get fans onside. The same fans that contribute towards his wages every week.

Ok.

You win, he's a silent angel. Sadly misunderstood by the public's interpretations of his brothers and agent slagging off his employers.

That very statement you've written is disputing things those people have said. An there's no need for him to make that statement.

As long as the club and manager are happy with him, that is all that matters. Other people can say what they want, but it comes down to Ole and the club to decide is he's being unprofessional or going against his contract. There have been zero signs from either that they are unhappy with him.

In my opinion he hasn't said anything derogatory towards the club, he's put Raiola back in his cage and that backtracking interview he done was priceless.

He's a world class player in need of a functioning starting 11 with improved players in and around him, which is what we have now.

If we are trying to build a top side then we need to retain our world class players, aside from Pogba can we say we have a single world class player? (Bruno looks class but too early to include him in that question imo)

Extend his contract, make him compete for his place for the first time at this Club rather than being a guaranteed starter, then watch him shine.

Because I guarantee you he will be a world beater at the likes of Madrid and Juve etc. and I'd rather he be doing that at Old Trafford, now that we are actually fielding a balanced/functional starting 11.

You said public dispute, which is basically an argument.

Definition of dispute
(Entry 1 of 2)

intransitive verb
: to engage in argument : debate especially : to argue irritably or with irritating persistence

I don't see how a calm statement distancing himself from rumours and disparaging comments about manchester united would be construed as arguing with his agent.
Once again, the need for him to make that statement only arises if he disagrees with what's being said. He clearly doesn't as his agent works for him and is partly his official mouthpiece. It would be naive to think otherwise.

Of course saying nothing plays into his hands as he has the option to stay or go and he can always come out with a load of crap about how he loves the club if he does stay.

Christ, all this Pogba talk has been tedious and repeated tirelessly in his performances thread. Nothing new is discussed. All i want to see are pictures of him training with the first team now and getting ready for the earliest game possible. The player is here, let’s just enjoy him. It’s what we Man United fans want to see, a world class player in our shirt playing in our team

Well there we go. No need to say any more than that.

The only thing that bothers me is how Pogba fans seem to forget that Pogba also controls his agent, if he doesn´t like what he is saying he could shut him up. But I don´t doubt he has been injured and he has been working on a comeback. But again Riola and his constant clickbait headline quotes are really tiresome. But let´s see the effort from Pogba on the last part of the season in our quest for EC and a FA cup plus the CL spot.

He did thats why Rioala came out and apologised to Ole and the club. But I guess your just gonna say that Riola had a random change of heart.

No one can know for sure but Pogba's brothers are very close to him, they are a tight unit. I suppose if he told them to stop this, they would but it's just guess work

You can guess all you want..
So you are saying Pogba has been letting him run his mouth for over a year but Pogba just now had a change of heart and told him to shut it?

Christ................ This is what we have been saying. Pogbas agent acts a prick overnight comes out and apologises to the club yet people believe Pogba had no involvement in that?

He literally cannot win.

Wrong on so many levels
Yeah, and I'm extremely happy to be wrong.

The Christmas period was bad for me on a personal level and we were going through some shit in the club at that time, so I had no hope left.

It's amazing how fast things can change. Not sure why you decided to specifically dig me out on this, but fair enough. The comment wasn't really well thought on my part.

This thing has been going on since 2018...I don't understand how anyone can make excuses for this guy anymore. He has not done enough as a player to be absolved from all of this " because he's "world class". That's the part that annoys me the most about this. People are acting like he is indispensible. He's not. His impact, from the signs we saw even before we signed Fernandes, is marginal.

You can guess all you want..
So you are saying Pogba has been letting him run his mouth for over a year but Pogba just now had a change of heart and told him to shut it?
I don't think it's that simple. My guess is Ole and the club went very strong on Pogba, maybe with financial penalty. So Pogba has to ask Raiola to backtrack.

I'd prefer to see him leave mostly due to his association with Riola. If he was producing Ronaldo level performances for us( He never has by the way and most likely never will) then fair enough, you could put up with the circus. As that is clearly not the case then a parting of the ways is better, he clearly wants to leave as well, he said so last summer let's not forget and he hasn't said anything in the meantime to change that.

He never will because he’s not that type of player. He could yet be the Zidane level midfielder, he has that in his locker.

Needs to get his head together

But can he loose might be a great question? There is nothing in this that makes me think Pogba had anything to do with this.
If he wasn´t happy with what Riola was saying he would have made him put a cork in it long time ago. There is one scenario that you aren´t looking into and that is the super-rich market for your 100m+ players.
The teams ready to splash that are few and by keeping up his antics Riola might actually make Utd take a stance against buying players from him that leaves him short of clients and possibility to use Utd to drive up prices.
That has probably more to do with this than Pogba ever had.

I don't think it's that simple. My guess is Ole and the club went very strong on Pogba, maybe with financial penalty. So Pogba has to ask Raiola to backtrack.
That I can agree with..
The club probably took a stance towards Riola and Pogba so Pogba had little to do with this.
Pogba and Riaola have been up to these antics now for two years and there is little to support that Pogba had anything to do with stopping his agent.
I for one am happy we didn´t go for Haaland with Riola pulling the strings and can say that Pogba needs to be moved away from the club. He is a very good player but the circus following him isn´t worth the hassle.
That said I don´t doubt he has been injured this season but I also feel like his focus is on the Euro´s not Utd but that is just me.

I've been in and out of the Pogba news so how has he "disrespected" the club? Honest question.

We gave Rooney a big new contract after he threatened to leave..

Indeed we did. My point was he was never the same in the squad after that. I don’t recall the exact timing, but he was downplayed by SAF as a striker and ultimately replaced by Van Persie in that role. I think Pogba has done himself similar harm at the club through the actions of his agent.
