Be great if he could play like he has since his comeback all the time, but he doesn't. Never has, never will. Gutting because he's so talented!
And it’s a stark reminder for me why a controlling midfield maestro rather than a Rice-esque DM is what this team desperately needs more than anything.
He literally carried us the last half of last season and was dominant at the beginning of this one before his injury (in a clusterfeck of a team mind you). Been saying this for years, him leaving is no guarantee we replace him adequately & even if we do that midfielder would be lumbered with McFred/the ghost of Matic.Losing him will be a big problem despite his injuries.
Think about it. Right now he is our only midfield 2 player of acceptable quality.
It's going to cost us about 60+ million to replace him with a player who is probably worse but albeit hopefully is available more and not injury prone.
That leave us with a Midfield that at best is as good as the one we have. And that Midfield is shite.
So if we want it improve our Midfield we are talking about 120+ million.
We will never do that. We will be stuck with McFred playing every week again.
Watching pogba is like wanking with silk, watching our other midfielders? Wanking with sandpaper.
I think we desperately need both kinds of cms, to be honest. Our midfield is dead. Though a midfielder who's press resistant and can add control and composure to us is definitely at the top of my wishlist. And it’s a stark reminder for me why a controlling midfield maestro rather than a Rice-esque DM is what this team desperately needs more than anything.

You get what you ask for though so when he leaves & we’re left with McFred it’s exactly what a number of posters have clamoured for.
I reckon it's because Brighton don't press him like our other midfielders because Paul can actually keep the ball under pressure.Pogba instantly improved the level of our team after coming on. Is it because Pogba was really good or Fred was really bad? Honestly, I dunno. However, its clear that there's no way Pogba should be behind Fred in the pecking order. Regardless of whether he's leaving in a few months or not.
What narratives? He literally carried us the last half of last season and was dominant at the beginning of this one before his injury (in a clusterfeck of a team mind you). But go on with your narratives
Too true. Why have we still not invested in a proper DM is beyond belief.Watching pogba is like wanking with silk, watching our other midfielders? Wanking with sandpaper.
Make no mistake, we need both.
Good game from him
That play at the end. McT screws basic short pass and Pogba does spinning on that ball. Sums it upWhen he comes on after you've watched McT and Fred on the ball tonight for an hour or so, well... Its like watching Succession straight after Mrs Browns Boys.
Going from Fred and McTominay to Pogba is like when you change the YouTube video from 240p to 720p
I've been a critic, and probably will again, but every time I think yeah, just sell him he does something to change my mind.Too true. Why have we still not invested in a proper DM is beyond belief.
Don't worry. I guarantee you the club will only replace Pogba with a worse player and at best buy someone young and cheap to replace Matic.
That will leave us playing one of McFred with the unlucky soul that is our new Midfielder.
Well he plays for us and we've been shite for years. No one plays well for us most of the time.Be great if he could play like he has since his comeback all the time, but he doesn't. Never has, never will. Gutting because he's so talented!

He came on and looked like peak Zidane next to McTominay and instead of Fred. We may well have to keep him.. somehowOther than being injured for months the evidence of this season undoubtedly says we should keep him.
He wants to leave though and I don't blame him. I'd leave too to be honest
