The just took his walking boot off today. Probably won't be available til Everton away on March 1st? Or the Europa league game right before that if we need him. 2.5 weeks to get to full fitness.

Played like 5 games and is still 3rd in PL for through passes. Man Utd have actually been in starvation

"accurate through ball". Quite a specific stat. Cut backs or brilliant crosses, reverse passes etc. Probably aren't part of that category so makes sense.

So..... Pogba staying or going?
Exceptional player, all be it very inconsistent. That being said, he’s had a lot of responsibility on his shoulders!

We're a supposed counter attacking team though, through balls are what we should thrive on.

Eh? Counter attacks can be done without through balls. You just play it fast down the flank and hit a cutback.

Or you can just put a through pass which creates good chance for the player.

It's a good stat, not sure why there is a problem with that, through passes are hard to complete, that's why players average very less when it comes to through passes.

Because not every team sets up to hit a through pass as regularly as each other. Liverpools goals have a massive part due to the delivery of their full backs. City are cut back Kings. It's a niche stat that gives a pocket view which is why players have such few of them.

There is a stat which showed Messi completed most through passes, you can play through passes with any play style, it's not strictly for counter attacking football. IIRC KdB topped these stats last season or before that.

Btw, Liverpool FBs can also play through passes as their attackers make many runs behind the defenders. That's what you need to make these passes and it doesn't have to be long pass too.

In top 5 leagues, per game Neymar completes the most through passes with 0.9 per game, after that it's Messi, Di Maria, Beundia, Luis Alberto, KdB, Fabregas.

Pogba is between Messi and Neymar but he didn't play many games to be considered in the stats. So there you have possession football teams, counter attacking teams in this list.

2017-18 season KdB topped these stats in PL with 0.4 per game.
2018-19 Jorginho topped these stats followed by players like Salah, Eriksen, Hazard.

So you have players from City, Barca, Liverpool, PSG, Spurs all playing the through passes and topping the list.

I'm not sure if that's accurate, among players that have played more than 15 games City have two players in the top five and Liverpool have a player in the top 10(Henderson). Throughballs are an interesting stat for central players because it highlights their vision and passing abilities in traffic(between opposition players in their defensive line). The reason the stat is low is because it's difficult to do, you don't actually set up to do it and it's not based on a particular style.

Yeah and also very hard to complete it, one of the reason why usually players average less than 0.5 through passes per game.

Would be nice to see him playing alongside Fred and Fernandes. This if he wants to stay.

May be better to play him with Fred, Bruno and McTominay. With such a James as it is, no reason to have him (James) on the pitch at all

He does not want to play here anymore so I hope we will find a buyer at the right price (complicated) or without going crazy he signs a new contract and that he will be 100% dedicated to the club once and for all. But I don't think he will be able to.

Would be nice to see him and the fat cnut that speaks for him to feck right off.
Well, I see he isn't the most popular guy this days, let's see what happens next.

It’s great that on only £300k a week he can’t be arsed to ever even support the team, has nothing to say even when his agent runs his mouth off.....does he even ever turn up at Carrington as I only ever see him in Miami it Dubai....his silence speaks volumes

Ah so that's what's been holding us back this season? Pogba walking around Carrington in a walking boot?

I really do hope we get to see this... even if it is only for a few games before Pogba is hounded out of the club by the media/fans opinion.

You can say whatever you want about Pogba but he does bring that magic to the team that not many players are able to bring. In the few games Pogba did play he did show ability not many other players have and created chances for the disfunctional team he plays in.

Ole about Pogba (question on when he´ll be back):

"He has not been part of team training yet, so... it will depend on how he feels when he...eh...or when he feels ready to do that, so, it´s not anywhere near that yet".

Pogba wants to play for United last part of the season, I have no doubt about that. He has something to prove, and will do his best - if not for United - so for himself. Still, he wants to move this summer, and will not take any chances with his ankle. He´ll wait until it heals, then wait a bit longer just to be sure. I did sense a little vibe from Ole when talking about Pogba.

Pogba is one hell of a player. It’s unfortunate how much pressure has been placed on him though. Previously the rest of the team hasn’t been good enough and I reckon he knows it.

That being said, his attitude has been terrible. Player power has indeed peaked, and surely he has to be one of the key factors in Mourinho being sacked.

Let’s hope he plays the last half dozen games or so of the season and excels. Making top four would be a considerable achievement considering the enormity of the rebuild.

I reckon he has found the premier league tougher going than Serie A. Whereupon previously he was dominating games, players are more physical and compete more ‘evenly’ with him. He would be a huge success in Spain where the game is much slower.

Him being a key factor in Mourinho being sacked is a figment of your imagination

What do you say to the great game he had vs Newcastle, when they were leading 0-2 at OT last season and Mourinho was on the brink of being sacked ? We won that game thanks to him and Martial (who wasn't on the best terms with Jose either). I swear some of you run with these theories and firmly believe in them without full context.

When Jose didn't get all the players he wanted and started whinging during the summer 2018, we all knew he was on borrowed time.

That pass quality. We need someone with his quality. We are not going to pretend that anyone can replace him. I dont fecking care if he goes on one condition we bring someone with his quality on the ball.

Can't wait to see him back. Playing with Bruno and Martial, Greenwood and James making runs ahead of them should be great to watch.

Wonder if he's liking what he's seeing.

Given what Madrid looked like last night he'd be joining a team in transition.

I only see Juve as a realistic option at the moment. Wouldn't be surprised if he changed his mindset before seasons end.

Obviously I'm not going to disrespect Juventus as they've got some fantastic players but they're not exactly a young team, think Pogba would be making a mistake going there just when he's about to hit his prime, he's better off going to a team that's about to peak not one that's going to have to start the process of rebuilding in the next year or so. I'm still not entirely convinced he'll go this year anyway, especially if we continue to look like a team on the up.

No chance he leaves now - he won’t want to be upstaged by a new kid on the block.

pogba will be back and flying ready for the euros. I suspect we might use him from the left wing with a free role, stick James on the right to keep some width.

fred and mctominay as the engine room for the 2 playmakers. It will be lovely.
