Like I said, if you want him gone you cannot care about his level of support for the team. You cannot have it both ways

Ok one for the road  - if he actually showed he gave a shit it would help. Like I said nails in a coffin for me. There’s only one left when he actually demands a transfer if still needed by the club to sell.

I was from those who was believing in his injury the last few months and still believes he was actually injured anyway, however his current situation doesn't make any kind of sense for anyone. He was back and played a part in 2 games in a row from the bench, then suddenly out of the entire squad for Burnley, and the manager said he wasn't ready to play 2 games in a row (ok don't play him but at least keep him on the bench), then now not travelling again with the squad for the next game! It's pretty hard to believe he got injured yet again playing a dead 45 minutes against Newcastle. Either he's travelling alone or there's something going behind the scenes.

Who knows? But not being at Burnley kind of makes sense as it was 2 days later.
Maybe he is traveling alone maybe not.

Now maybe he is faking although I 100% doubt it but it's not that unlikely that he could have got sick or had a setback.

Sure think of Dalot. That chap is injured every 5 minutes. I've seen him be out for 2 months come back play 20 minutes and then suddenly he is out again.

If it's possible for Dalot why not Pogba. Hate the double standard is all. People have always looked to blame Pogba for most of our problems for the past few seasons and while his performances may not have been amazing it was completely unfair. Consider that we simply aren't that good and even still he is our best player a lot of the time. No player was going to fix us. It's an absurd notion.

What our fans don't realize is once they decided they hated Pogba this was only ever to go one way. Like there where jeers against Watford and he played so well for the 20 he was on. Imagine being hated that much. Ah well it is what it is.

Will miss him when he goes but we got more pressing issues anyway. The owners we have mean it's more likely that we will only get worse.

It made sense for him not to play not to be totally out of the squad against Burnley. Could have traveled, stayed on the bench as an option and didn't come out and would have made more sense imo. I don't if he's faking it, the club is faking it or there's nothing at all going on and we're just making a fuss, we'll know for sure as the time passes, however you can't blame anyone for being suspicious about the current situation.

As for Dalot he has been absent for a long time. As I said I don't doubt Pogba being injured at all the last few months, but him returning from injury to play a part in 2 games then completely out of the squad for the next 2, with the reason for the first game being "being not ready to play 2 games in a row", it's just a weird situation imo. Again I don't know for sure if there's something really going on or not, but it's fair to question it.

It would help to do what exactly ? You have made your mind about him haven't you ?

Apparently the full quotes weren't near as negative (I haven't read them, only reactions). I would prefer to see Pogba stay and that him not being in the squad for the Arsenal game being down to him needing a couple of days off. But whenever Pogba does leave/retires I hope the club stops dealing with Raiola clients. It's just bothersome for me, but of course I don't expect the club to do that.
I think it's definitely negative tbh. This is being quoted by numerous papers:

'Pogba's problem is Manchester United. It's a club out of touch with reality and without a sporting project,' Railo told Italian news outlet La Repubblica.

'I wouldn't take anyone there, they would even ruin Maradona, Pele and Maldini.

'Paul needs a club and a squad, one like Juventus was before.'

Today an agent speaks on behalf of his client, what the agent say is actually what the client want to say but for some reasons just can not publicly say that. He just basically said he's having bad form because Utd is crap and he'd need a new club. That's the way I understand it.

Be amazed if we can get anywhere near that price now, £100m would be a relief to me, hope your right though

He still has two years and a half on his current contract (one year extent option). These days a player like him is min 150 £m imho.

If the other club doesn't want to cough up, well good lord he can rot on the bench ffs. And he's fecking soon to be 27 years old already.

The way he just slam his own club show one thing, there must be a club ready to take him and now he and that fat twat is just doing anything to force the leave.

It's a shame because this is really only going to end one way and that's Pogba leaving the club. We need to be proactive this January and get two midfielders, selling Pogba in the summer will offset that spend and we can use the transfer budget to add another CM, RW & ST. If done properly Pogba leaving won't impact the club and hopefully that's the end of Raiola. Regardless if what he has said is accurate or not it's disrespectful to a club and Pogba is likely in agreement otherwise Raiola wouldn't be saying it.

United will have known since the summer Pogba could possibly leave in...so a plan will be in place for a midfield solution.

Ole's pre game quotes were strange anyway. He "would think" Pogba was travelling with us and he thinks the Burnley game "probably" was too soon for him. Has he any idea what is going on with him?

I said pogba was gone... He's been gone since raiola said he's going to find him a new club in the summer

The fact he can’t be arsed supporting his teammates is another nail in the many nails in his coffin at united for me mate

How often do you see injured/ill players on the stands? And that's without even mentioning that Pogba's been in the stands watching United before. Or does he have to do it every game as proof of his commitment or something?

such a weird thing to take issue with

Its over guys. Its time to move on. Lets not be a clingy ex girlfriend. Its done.
It just didnt work out. Sell him in january, buy someone to replace him, its what it is. Its probably the best for both parties.

He’s been available for offers over 150 million since summer, he’s still here. So no it’s not going to end anytime soon, as no one rates him in the 150 million category other than his parent club. United rightfully want to make a profit on him, he wants Zidane, and Zidane wants him, Real need to cough up, cash plus players deal hopefully, we shall see, otherwise he’s got a long term contract, so he can get on with his job....

You seriously think he's injured/ill? This guy is seriously bullet proof to some fans

I am so 50-50 about Pogba. He is world class player, one of the best midfielders in the world(in a few years he will be no1 mc). And you can't replace such a player.
But he wants to go and i can't blame him. If i am him i would be putting transfer request long time ago. When you are the best you want to play in best squad and winning titles. You don't want to be part of some long term project where you will maybe challenge for titles after 3 years.( at least i would think like that if i was a player).
So what to do here? We have a player who wants to go and who is at the same time our best player. Sure, easiest answer is "feck him" but losing best player is not best way to go forward but also having player who doesn't want to be here is not long term option.

I think we will sell him for 80-90 mil next summer.

That's sound. In my view, we can either speed up our project, buy some players on his level very soon and start challenging, or sell him after getting replacements.

With the first scenario our current attractiveness for those level of players is in doubt, while with the 2nd scenario, the problem isn't selling him, it's the replacements, as we haven't been stellar on that front in recent times.

With the current regime constantly talking about a long term project, I have a feeling we'll go the 2nd route. Let's hope the replacements are up to the task, and generally don't follow our recent transfer history.

If he goes he goes not a problem. But I have a problem and that is I don't trust Ed and Co to find a decent replacement for him.

So the non-convoluted option in your head is that Pogba worked his way back to fitness and came back to make two cameo appearances, in which he was among the best players, then decided he doesn’t want to play anymore. Meanwhile Ole is spinelessly humouring his whims and making up excuses for him and the club chose to partake in the cover up by not to fining him for these unauthorised absences?

That’s the simpler option for you rather than a player that has struggled with injuries and illness suffering a setback after returning from a long time off the pitch?

Two things are problem here.
1) the way on top is to add quality on quality, not replace one for another.
2) there is no midfielder like Pogba( Pogba in form) at this moment.

My solution is to give him huge contract and sell him a story how we will buy some world class players and challenge for titles next year.

He doesn't want to be here so.. But the problem is we won't spend wisely.

The question then becomes, who would replace him?

Leicester would bend us over the barrel again for Maddison, especially if we try in January.

Kai Havertz has been mentioned a lot but would he be the right fit.

Other options???

You can't build an empire on pillars of sand.

Feck him out. We're never going to see a committed player with him.
He's brilliant and talented but hes toxic prick too

I don't think he's that toxic, he already said through his agent that he loves Ole and thanks him for what he has done before for him.
I think what we need is to show a plan, a plan to invest into players, and show him progress (I am sure we showed plans, but we could not get said players, so the plan looks moot right now).
Get the plan moving, execute well, and he will thrive as well.

I have no idea of the truth and I am basing this on gut feeling alone but something is off. I think pogba is off. If he is still here on Feb 1st I'll be very very surprised.

His agent already confirmed he's here for the year so don't be surprised. Wait for the next drama next summer since that's what people want. Just because we are struggling doesn't mean everything is as bad as what's going on at Arsenal with Aubameyang or Chelsea with Hazard, though the latter was "easier" to handle.

I don't think he will go this January for 2 reasons.

1. Nobody will stump up the cash we want in January

2. We won't be able to replace him in January.

I think he's probably fed up and wants to battle for titles, so we will have to part ways and accept we're at a crossroads. Think it'll happen in the summer as his contract is running low.

I backed him all the way, but i'm starting to feel he's been dicking us around the last two months, or at least not fully committed to returning from injury and helping lift this team. If he wants to go then we should not stand in his way. This situation needs to be resolved, because It's absolutely mad that we've been without our best player for most of the season, and loaned out our highest paid player, two of our most expensive assets. We've been operating with a severe handicap, no wonder we looked like midtable so often. Imagine Liverpool without Salah and Mane, or City without KDB and Sterling.

I think normally youd be bang on. I suppose it depends how bad the situation has become. None of us know the truth as to what is really going on but something seems very off to me.

Mate, he came back and asked to play that Rochendale game when he has not fully recovered to help the team because he felt we needed options, and he played and got injured more... that's not someone not committed to the club. We have to stop that guys, maybe the circumstances are weird, maybe a lot of things are weird, but Pogba is the one who asked to play to help the team literally and that's how it back fired to us.

The situation will get resolved when we get some good winning streaks in the league and other competitions that will relax everyone and allow Pogba to play well. We are very unlucky to lose Scott for 8 weeks, that's not great at all when we needed him.

Yeah, i'm starting to think Ole is trying to save face and paint a prettier picture than is real. I think Pogba does respect Ole but with Raiola in his ear he's not scared to pick back a little.

Ole desperately needs his help especially if Mctominay is going to be injured for 6-8 weeks, I hope Pogba can give us a last few good months but we will see.

I agree 100% if he digs in and gives us til summer and potentially helps us win a cup or get top 4 then most of us would accept him leaving. On his day he is by far our best player and a massive talent. Just a shame we haven't seen all that much of it. I think he will leave with as many regrets as us.
