He played for the shirt. Moving from a very successful time(and exciting times ahead) at Juventus proved his love for the club.

He is so special, I really, really hope he fulfils his potential with us.

It proves that when it's all clicking, when he puts his all into it, when the team are quick, incisive and mobile Pogba can absolutely dominate and control the game, and that is what he did, linked up well with everyone and in particular Martial, yet people want him gone.

Anyone putting Jose over him is quite frankly clueless, our only outfield player that wouldn’t look out of place at any team in the world.

I think he always plays well for us, it's more of a question if the rest of the team clicks with him or not. That assist for Martial he does that sort of thing countless times in a game, but usually one of the attackers completely balls it up. I maintain that if you put 3 top attackers in front of him, they'll elevate him and he'll elevate them.

Thought he was absolute shite in the first half and didn't look bothered.

The best player on the pitch by miles and miles in the second half when he actually tried.

Therein lies the frustration with him at United. Anyway, motm, just do it for 90 minutes next time, please.

First half he was easily our best player.

Besides a couple of games, he's been outstanding so far this season. Shame the narrative will say otherwise.....some whopper on here said he was poor in the first half and didn't try....despite him always showing for the ball. Running into space. Non stop. But when you hate someone and the teams losing, I guess it's easy to jump on them regardless.

Thank you for saying what has been annoying me over the past few weeks!

Monster performance in the most difficult of circumstances. Cannot praise him highly enough for that second half.

His average rating is too low for me - 5.8? Him and Shaw have been our best players so far this season.

Big performance today, not for the first time, if we can get him, Martial and Alexis into consistent form we're as good as anyone in the league, even with a slow, leggy lukaku.

Loads of people here dont like and want him gone. If he doesnt score atleast one goal, has an assist and makes multiple runs past multiple opponents he gets a two at best... if he scores a hattrick they might give him a six.

I think alot of people dislike him not due to his football or hair cuts. Rather something else which I'm not gonna mention because it'll cause controversy. The ratings handed to him for the last couple of years on the Caf have quite frankly been pathetic...

If Coutinho and Pogba are shooting from distance all day then Messi would be unhappy, Pogba would have to feed the front 4 while covering Messi atrocious work rate.
We could do this all day buddy!

Meh.. I think only you would think Pogba wouldn't do much better playing for Barca than for United.

Had a phenomenol game today. Contrary to the popular belief, I still think his best position is the deep lying midfielder paired with the DM rather than advanced attacking midfielder. Similar to the role he played in his first season under Mourinho.

I feel he is more effective in linking the defence to attack. Also has good passing range to switch the play to either wings and can also pick a lofting pass from deep. Has good shot in him so he can arrive late in the box or around the edge of box to score as well. I think he has the ability to be best deep lying playmaker.

Well no matter where he plays, hoping to see similar performances from him in the vital upcoming matches.

And that in itself is madness because he would benefit from much better movement to display his passing (that doesn't mean long passing either). Great players will always look better in functionning team

True. With better players in France NT, he was still one of (if not) the best player in the team. And it's not like Barca's midfield still has Iniesta or Xavi for Pogba to compete with.

Did he really play CB second half though... naah.

Start 2nd half, position himself next to Smalling for just a few minutes, then bombing forward.

Throughout the second half, specific timings, both he and Matic drop that deep to start attacks from the back.
Basically when we're building up from the back,
----Matic---Smalling---Pogba---
*Smalling positioned himself much lower/deeper than that.
Then both Matic Pogba move forward, Smalling solo defend.

Consistency is and will always be something that hangs over his head. No doubt he played a good game today. Let’s hope he can continue to show that kind of dedication, care, and desire every game.

I believe he genuinely loves the club and playing for it. The talk about wanting to move to Barca is just what it is, simply paper talk or crap thrown out by his agent. Like DDG, give him what he wants. They both deserve it

Because we haven't won as much. That's the reason. Knee jerk ratings activated.
That and the stupid hatred for his personna off the field and on social media. Some people are too fecked up to not separate the two, social activity matters when it has a direct on the football or Manchester United but other than that, he can do whatever he wants.
He's been good this season, his haters struggle to admit it but it's simply the truth

Played for the shirt like the hardcores love, he was the reason we got back into that game, he was behind everything and set the tempo and attitude for the team, shame he can't have that armband anymore......

He doesn't need to be captain for him to become leader at United, it does seem he genuinely loves United and want us to succeed with him at the forefront of our revival but some fans can't seem to see past his persona and have irrational hatred for him would gladly see back of him.

Exactly. The armband is a symbol but some players feel burdened by it and defo don't need it to play with leadership. When you think, it was a stupid move to give it to him. It felt desperate by Mourinho

A spoilt brat, primma donna, mercenary who undermines his manager, stripped off the vice captaincy by the same manafer, actually saved this very manager's arse yesterday. Top performance from the lad. Attack, attack, attack is the way to go forward

The ‘consistency’ argument has become like the Smalling one, where every week the answer is ‘fair play, he actually played well today I must admit’. Like, literally 9 out of 10 games.

Smalling has been accidentally playing well every week for years. Some people just ‘can’t help but feel he’s always got a mistake in him though’. All while bizarrely feeling more secure with that clown Bailly. Pogba is similar. Jamie Redknapp and his cronies have pinned some sort of inconsistent tag on him, and it can’t be shaken. Every week is an exception, and if a game comes round where he doesn’t play well, that is the rule.

Matic had more interceptions, I think Shaw had more distance covered and it was either Lukaku or Martial with more chances created, can't remember.
