Imagine if the people who want him gone get what they want.... how are we going to create chances?
No idea. He's basically the only player in the team who passes the ball forward, shifts the play, plays through balls and carries the ball forward through the middle.

We signed Fred to help this guy then said big 'F*ck you' to both and literally bench 50m player we just bought.

Right now, anything positive we do as a team involves him.

Passing moves where Pogba doesn't touch the ball end up being a total waste. He's the only reliable player in an attacking sense in our team.

Thought he was good tonight. But people who are saying that he is on another wavelength to our other players are talking rubbish. He had a good game, but still had lot of poor games, and even tonight had some mind boggling decisions despite playing well. He is really not much better than any of our other players, he has the potential but is still nowhere near there.

All in all, good game tonight, good response from him.

Feel sorry for him with the static movement upfront. Compare that to the French team with their wide players and Greizmann popping up everywhere...

Pogba gets all the abuse for not being good enough, but honestly, there’s no one else in the midfield who’s good enough to pass the ball through a defence. He gets critiqued for not creating or scoring enough. Then it’s because he loses the ball too much and doesn’t keep it simple. Then it’s because he’s not good enough defensively. Then it’s becuse he doesn’t run around enough.

Maybe it’s because he’s the only player who can create chances. Honestly, if someone can tell me different, I’ll happily admit I’m wrong. Sure Rashford and Martial will run at defenders and get crosses in (generally poor ones). But where else is it coming from.

None of the defenders bar Shaw are comfortable past the half way line. Matic is a downgrade on Carrick, who many people thought wasn’t good enough for years. Fellaini. Yeah. Lukaku can barely dribble with the ball, let alone play key passes.

I agree. I was looking at that midfield, and thinking that something needs to change - but I couldn't argue for him to be the one to be dropped. He's the only one with any sense of creativity.

I could do with him being a bit less theatrical though. It's almost like he wants to prove that he's trying, so with each misplaced pass you get the over-dramatic reaction from him.

I'm sorry but who are you to tell me what I consider to be the most boring or not  ? That's just my opinion on it.

Entitled to an opinion yes. But a wrong opinion.

This grinds my gears, I don’t understand how anyone can dismiss LVG so easily. It’s like people’s distain for Mourinho and the current dross being played just makes people get amnesia.

To be blunt, Fred has been shite so far.
Whole team is shite if you noticed, what can Fred damage more than at least exchange few quick passes with Pogba to help team progress with attacking football ?

We should just play Fellaini and Matic ? They can't even chase a player.

I thought he played pretty well. Midfield balance was wrong though but that’s typical from Jose.

We need to put him with Fred and Pereira in midfield

We really don’t. That midfield would be all kinds of disaster. Fellaini and Matic, whilst they have their critics and I agree with most of them, are at least a solid base for Pogba and the front 3. Lukaku being absolutely fecking awful, Sanchez nowhere near the box and Valencia not offering anything on the wing mean it doesn’t work. At all.

Fred & Pereria may look neat tidy and quick but they’ve both been atrocious defensively. You can’t have that in a team shipping goals.

I'd of played Pereira personally. We need some creativity and we need someone who can run.

His passing, especially in the second half, where he switched to a one-touch play, was very good. Showed some grit as well.

I know who wanted to win more today between him and a certain second party.

Not even just ahead of him, but beside him too - Matic and Fellaini are so static and slow to pass. We need busy players, who can pass and move. Fred is supposed to be that...

I want Rashford and Martial starting every game, because at least they have the capability to play one touch and can cause a bit of worry. Lukaku is so easily handled by defenders at the moment it's a joke.

I'm sorry but no, that is how I feel about it and it's as simple as that. This is worse than LVG's for me yes, doesn't mean I'm dismissing anything about that tumescent period either.
I don't have amnesia, I know what I'm talking about

Fellaini and Matic at the same time is criminal and them finishing the whole game is worse.

It should be one of Fellaini or Matic, along with one of Fred or Pereira. As well as Pogba obviously.

He put the effort in, he tried to make something happen but sticking him with two oil tankers is almost like sabotage.

You hope Valencia smashes United?

Could you repeat that please. Oh and why do you care about the club if you're not a fan?

I don't really care about the club, I'm entertained by what's going on but I like United (just like I'm liking Liverpool right now, City, and Chelsea), it doesn't mean I'm a fan. I follow Pogba & Martial....I only really care about national football more than club football and I follow French players, hence why I'm here. I must have missed the part where you need to be a fan of the club to post here.

You don't need to be a fan to post here. I didn't day that.

Good effort from him tonight but nothing went right for him, he doesn't even seem like a midfielder to me.

Finally has his freedom to attack and does nothing with it. The whole team is setup so that Pogba gets a touch on the ball as everything has to run through him and it slows us down heavily. He doesn't get involved enough as an offensive player otherwise and doesn't bother to learn the disiplin it takes to play as a real CM. He might be trying but so does McTominay tbf.

Same for me. Maybe his actual position is a free role on the left side, as in some sort of Thomas Muller free role on the wing.

Whack him in a possession based team, who play attacking football and this guy will rack up unbelievable stats. He makes stupid mistakes but you can see he is always trying to open defenses up, burst past players around the box and wants things to happen. Sometimes he's not bothered but tonight you could see he wanted to win.

We need to put him with Fred and Pereira in midfield

Good heavens no.

I thought he was mixed tonight. Good at times, not so good at others. At times he ran his lungs off but there were times when he didn’t necessarily do the simple things defensively. I thought he was one of our better players.

There’s just so much hype and talk surrounding him that it almost feels like he’s a fictional character.

He literally creates all of our dangerous play. Do you watch all of our games? He is miles and miles above our next best player in ability. Rashford and Lukaku fecked up multiple dangerous balls provided by Pogba.

I've been watching United religiously since 2004 and the gulf in class between our best player and the next has never been like this (keeper not included).[/QUOTE]

I wouldn't rate Pogba on the level of Scholes, Carrick, Keane but I would say Matic, Herrera is better than some of the competition we've had for our midfield since 2004. Didn't really pan out with a lot of them as you know. Neither can be said for Matic or Herrera at the moment but you can't say Pogba has been tremendous either so yeah. If you talk about the squad in general, that is insanely inaccurate as our best players often had to play with a lot of players beneath their ability and they still showed their class.

Your post is all over the place.

And if you support Bournemouth, why do you refer to Man Utd as "we"?

Listen guy, what is it that you want. You quoted me, I answered on the point you tried to make. Pogba isn't head and shoulders above the other players in our team, he can be but he isn't performing to the best of his abilities. Im sorry, but if you can't see that i cant help you out. Pogba can be important, but he just isn't on a consistent basis and that is on his own, not on others. Matic hasn't been good this season, but he performed better than Pogba previously. Ronaldo was pretty much head and shoulders above most of our squad. Pogba isn't.

Great attitude in his play.

That slide interception near our box 1st half.

That strong unfazed counter attack run, fouled and pulled down attempted by a Valencia, but he just kept on going... then suddenly whistle blow. Geez ref, that's a perfect and clear advantage. Impressive balance.

Funny, with France and Zlatan - his passes connects, but with us... the shocking clueless movements up fronts is shocking. Good coach attentive to this can remedy this problem. Alas.
A passer type of player needs good movements from the front to work.

Can't be blaming him for tonight, two slow negative players playing deep behind him. Little movement out wide and a striker that looked like he was in quick sand all night. It must be frustrating having a manager like Jose. Not the team you pick at Old Trafford.

Can you just imagine if he had forwards that move efficiently and skillfully? United would win the world cup
