To me Pogba is a lot like our CB's, needs someone in there to be the boss, he might have Batman status but I think he was best as Pirlo's Robin.

The fact is he's not good enough to boss it like a box to box playmaker would, the role Mourinho asks of him and lacks Intelligence and passion to learn it as well. The movement up front adds to the mediocre ness.

He was dreadful but the lack of movement and any attacking structure is an embarrassment. No inidividual can escape blame for that performance but the underlying issue is the tactics, a good or bad performance by Pogba doesn’t change that.

True that.

Did Scholes say he didn't use his brain?

badly put if true but I agree with the sentiment a little today.

We needed to build up momentum in that second half and he was pumping the ball far too much.

instead of applying pressure and forcing Brighton deep into Lukaku/Fellaini territory he was surrendering possession easily and letting them off the hook

@Bepi (or anyone who watched him regularly for Juve)
Spoken to some Juve fans who said he was played quite a lot on the left wing as an attacking outlet and not that much as an MC in a midfield 3, with no defensive duties at all. Any truth in that? Especially under Conte.

He wasn't good.

Not to excuse him(because he can play much better and should), but we looked like a pub team out there.

People can moan all they want, but at least he doesn't go hiding when things get tough. He kept getting on the ball and tried to make things happen. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for him today.

Other players - and I won't mention any names, are happy getting the ball and playing a five yard sidewards/backwards pass. That's not enough. To be a United player, you have to do more than that. Force the issue. Try to make things happen. Pogba did that today. Like I said, it didn't happen for him.

For someone who has spent 90% of this year annoying me and making me seriously dislike him I wasn't displeased with him at all today. I know he gave the ball away a lot but I dunno he looked like he gave a feck. He kept trying things, kept looking to penetrate, kept showing for the ball and I didn't notice any abandoning of his MF position. He also played alongside Fred and Lingard today, the first of which I'm still unsure as to whether he's a footballer or competition winner, the second of which put in one of the worse cameo performances you'll ever see.

Pogba's form is directly linked with Uniteds form. When he has a bad game United has a bad game. When he plays good United play good. There's no-one there to take the pressure off him.

Yeah, I'm far from his biggest fan on here, but he was fine today. Sloppy at times, sure, but kept making himself available and trying things.

The thing I don’t get with Pogba is why does he try to get away with drag backs in front of our defence when he doesn’t do that for France?

To me it shows a relative lack of respect for United. For France Pogba is willing to play direct and simple. He doesn’t indulge himself, he just does what he’s asked to. Cos he respects his national team and manager. For us it’s like he feels like he can do daft stuff cos we don’t really matter to him.

Thinks he's bigger than the club. We need him more than he needs us so he does that sort of shit.

Not great today but hard for any of the midfield to shine with such a static front line.

He may be our biggest problem to be honest. I feel he hogs the ball too much in trying to show off. When you have players like Lingaard, the ball should be moved quickly.

You've got a much bigger problem on the sideline.

Our biggest problem is the positioning and movement of front three and lack of support they have, what can pogba do when he sees zero movement up front with lukaku dropping deep.

I'm not trying to defend his performance because he was wank but in terms of losing the ball with passes, you can't blame him too much. Our movement is so fecking static that he can either pass side ways out to our wide men/full backs just for them to pass it backwards or he can try to actually create a chance by looking for a pinpoint long ball to a forwards run (which more often than not a defender will deal with).

The same again when he tries do too much, I honestly don't think he's trying to show off, I think he's just trying to win the game on his own when he's team mates are just being complete bottlers and afraid of the ball. Obviously you should never try win the game on your own as it's a team game, but feck me it must be frustrating for him as well as us.

In terms of your star man being utterly fecking crap... Wayne Rooney would have been proud of that performance

No argument there.

Also - obviously, Wanye Rooney was feckin' class a lot of the time.

Absolutely. Rooney was right to leave when he did but during his career he was one of my favourite players to have ever seen. As you say he was brilliant so many times and had the required heart and determination, something Pogba and so many others in our squad seriously lack.

Not only that, Pogba is infuriating with his inconsistency, absolutely no middle ground in his performances, either brilliant or brutal.

Fair play to him for coming out to the media after but the guy is supposed to be world class, you can't play well one in four and expect to be called world class.

I actually think he is the problem. We should never have bought him. The money should have been better spent.

He's not captain material. Even if he was, it is about 3-4 years to early and he's not achieved anything for the club. He needs to grow up and fast or leave. It is as simple as that. If you value your petty feud with Jose over the club then take that garbage elsewhere and be a pilk for that team where I don't have to watch you embarrass yourself and the club every week.

If this agent/pogba/mou crap continues, we should definitly consider moving on.

It's not doing the team any favours, or him by that matter.

It's just outright toxic.

Pogba looks like a very popular guy too, him turning against the club and Jose is going to spell disaster for the club.

Hope everyone is in for another shit season.

Yeah right. you can't put Pogba and Rooney on the same braket. that's disrespectful to Wayne. he may have been shit for the last few years of his time here but at least, he offered us most of his career and actually made us win things.

Pogba on the other hand ....

Pobga currently isn't fit to lace Rooney's boots as a Man Utd player.

At no point did I compare careers or contrast their contribution to Manchester United.

I'm talking about one performance in one game of football

He has to go. Not because of his abilitys but because of the drama surrounds him. It will never be quit regarding Pogba, the drama will continue.
