Absolutely majestic today. It must be so depressing playing against him in this sort of form. Not only is he on another planet technically to most midfielders in the world, but he's bigger and stronger than most of them too. Huddersfield are a physically imposing team but a lot of their players were just bouncing off him today when they tried to challenge him.

I kind of liked how he wasn't all that involved in the first 15-20 minutes. He must be loving the fact that he isn't being completely relied on to do everything himself anymore, and he can inject himself as he wants for most impact.

Then he slowly ramped it up over the course of the first half, and then came out in the second half and just took the piss out of Huddersfield.

It's freakish, the physical and technical tools he has at his disposal isn't fair. If he can keep up form like this in an attacking system, he could be pushing for a Balon D'or next year.

2 games. We have seen this before. Let's all calm down a bit and see how he does when up against a decent side.

 He is far away from that mate.

It's flu season, so the virus is prospering.

It's awful how many fans turned on him, I was listening to a call on an Icelandic radio show and the host, a United fan, had Aron Gunnarsson of Cardiff on the line. He asked him to injure Pogba in the game.

José was the problem, it's so obvious. Let's now enjoy the fact we have one of the best midfielders of this generation at the club.

Except that my perspective has always been that the system was wrong and the Pogba was not performing due to this failing system.

Now that he's in an attacking system, I feel he'll be consistently brilliant. You can quote me on this if I happen to be wrong.

I'm not a United fan, so I think I can give a neutral perspective on Pogba.

It is clear that Mourinho was managing the team extremely badly, and this impacted on numerous players, including Pogba. In my opinion, United should be challenging for the title with this squad. Not necessarily winning it, but player for player they should not be 13 points behind Spurs.

However, a few weeks ago, I think it was against Southampton, Pogba was dreadful, just ambling around, and even doing kick-ups next to his own penalty box and being dispossessed.

You cannot just handwave that away, and say it was all Mourinho's fault, and a result of negative tactics and poor man management. I accept that Mourinho wasn't getting the best out of Pogba, but no professional footballer, or pretty much any footballer at any level, should be doing kick-ups near the own goal, before being dispossessed.

That is totally on Pogba. It is the responsibility of the player to play like a professional. The fact that he's now playing really well, while I agree that it's due to tactics and management to some extent, or possibly even to a very great extent, as a professional footballer, let alone supposedly one of the best players in the world, it is incumbent upon you to display professionalism at all times. This is regardless of what you're being asked to do, regardless of the climate of the club, and regardless of how you might feel.

It should be noted that Pogba completely failed to do this, and it's not right, in my opinion, to simplistically state that he's playing well now because the shackles are off. As the most expensive player in the history of the Premier League, he has to take some responsibility for his performances, regardless of who the manager is.

Got better as the game went on. Newcastle away next Wednesday is his first test. Those are the kind of games he goes missing in.

He had a great performance even without the goals. Solskjaer expansive style suits him perfect. When the game becomes stretched/end to end there's no other player I would swap him for. Just wait when Martial and Sanchez come back. He'll rack up the goals and assists very quickly

Yes, he did have two games this season like that. The one you are talking about, and one other earlier in the season.

I think it's important to remember that he did have those two terrible matches, but also to remember that it was only those two matches where he was that bad. Listening to some people on here and in the media (and perhaps his ex-manager) made it sound like he was like that regularly.

He was right. We needed to attack more and we needed more movement. Too bad it had to come from a player because the club will always back the manager. He's vindicating himself with these performances. A highlight reel of finding runners with creative passes

Can't remember if cartoons are banned from this section. But I will take the risk of an angry mod for this masterpiece

He was fantastic

It's not just being bad, though. Every player will put in bad performances. Even Messi has the odd indifferent game. But you cannot start doing kick-ups near your own box, and lose the ball. That shouldn't happen at any level of football. I don't think Pogba should be given a free pass for that.

I hope he goes on to be a great player for United, I will always have a soft spot for them as I lived in Manchester, and have attended Old Trafford loads of times in the Ronaldo era. But I don't think any player should be excused for unprofessional conduct.

You seem to be hammering this point quite heavily, I can't remember, when did this happen?

My problem with Pogba has never been about the player he could be, it's been more about the player he actually has been these last couple of years and, frankly, he's been a disgrace for most of that time.
For a world record fee and a monumental salary he's spent more time doing his hair, plugging his image, faffing about in midfield, taking too many touches, loosing the ball and falling over claiming to be fouled than actually playing football.
The gap between his potential and his actual performances has been so huge that I'd happily have seen him go at any time up until last Tuesday.
However, if he pulls his finger out and performs to his ability 8 times out of 10 under Ole then what a player we have......time will tell!

This is the type of player you start watching football for.

Imagine wanting to get rid of him for Mourinho's tumescent brand of football

You seem to be hammering this point quite heavily, I can't remember, when did this happen?
I wouldn't say hammering it hard, I'm surprised other people don't remember it. It was in the first-half versus Southampton. The reason I have mentioned it is that I noticed it at the time, and it was just obvious that he wasn't trying. You just don't do that as a professional footballer. So I don't think anyone can reasonably claim that it was all Mourinho's fault, even though I have been critical of Mourinho and believe him to be an overrated manager.

Anyway, good luck to the guy, I hope he plays great for the rest of this season. It would just grate with me, if I was a United fan, that players were putting in casual performances, particularly if I was investing my money in following them.

Can’t believe we almost let a man get away with brandishing the best central midfielder in Europe a virus.

Excellent performance today. He's got all the talent in the world. When he applies himself he's irresistible.

Some people say it's the big games he goes missing in, now you saying it's matches of the ilk of Newcastle

So which is it?

Well, he was terrible against Newcastle earlier this year.:)

He's already doing so mate :)

Exactly, we should bench both martial and Pogba against Newcastle as they have shown they can't perform in matches of this ilk... I think we're onto something

Mourinho would have pushed him out. I'm so happy we sacked that man.

I can't remember the number of posts I've read saying that both Mourinho and Pogba should leave. What a lack of insight some showed.
