Missed a lot of chance but I'm not worried at all as it will come with time.

Very lazy defensively at times. Should have scored two or three. Not a very impressive performance.

Half arsed performance from him, he got shrugged off the ball by Glen fecking Whelan. Probably shouldn't have played on Thursday.

The manager will eventually take him to one side and make it abundantly clear that he isn't a superstar, he isn't the creative hub, he isn't someone who is good enough to stroll around the pitch and he can't take half a dozen touches every time someone passes it to him.

A lot of player's get overawed by a large transfer fee, he's using it to seemingly justify acting like he's a superstar retiring to the MLS.

I have no doubt he'll sort it out I just hope it happens sooner rather than later.

For me, today, he (and DDG) were our worst players.
The most expensive player in the World and I am seriously thinking that he should be benched. I'd actually pick Carrick to play instead of Pogba.

We were promised a Bugatti Veyron, but we've taken delivery of a Ford Mondeo.
I hope he gets better.

Sloppy and wasteful again today. Needs to start doing more. He had two great chances. But his touch for someone so gifted is sloppy too often, he makes poor decisions and games pass him by too often.

Strange performance. When he should keep it simple he elaborates. When he should elaborate he keeps it simple. Plenty of opportunities around the edge of the box to shoot, chose impossible passes. Opportunities to drive with the ball forward from midfield, goes for a layoff. His decision making has been all over the place.

That header goes a few inches lower at the end we win 2-1 and he's a hero and people praise him for making that run from midfield to get on the end of the cross. Not his best game but he'll get there.

People keep saying 'he will get there' we know he will but we have games RIGHT NOW and he isn't playing well enough If we payed half the price I wouldn't be impressed with what we have seen thus far, he just hasn't been good by anybody's standards.

My biggest gripe with him is that he shoots at times when its better to pass and vice-versa. Should have had an assist and a goal or 2 today.

He wants to do too much by himself. Keep it simple.

Exactly. It's as if he's trying to justify the price tag by showboating with every touch.
His first touch was poor today & I want to see him busting a gut to get into the box - Ronaldo style - when he lays balls off from midfiel, not jogging around.

That said, I'm not concerned about him, just expected more for someone of his quality against Stoke at home.

I still maintain Fernandinho is as good/important to a team as Pogba is.

Yup. Price tag is getting to him. Mourinho should explain to him just to relax and play his game.
Also he has been a bit lazy in some challenges, brushed of by some weaker players easily. That's not good enough.
But as you I expect him to get there, to shine soon.

 That's funny!

In all seriousness though, if it had been City who broke the world transfer record for him, and he'd been playing for them like he has for us, he'd have been absolutely slaughtered here.

Hope he turns it around, quickly.

When he plays simple, he is very good.

Jose needs to make sure he works hard on the pitch especially with defensive duty or just push him further up. You can't start him and another DM as the base 2 while the dm has to do all the jobs alone. The fact that he jogs around and pretends to mark or defend confuses the hell out of everyone around and upsets the balance imo.

We have been shit at defending as a team this season and he is a huge part of it.

Thought he played really well today mostly. Should have scored of course, but he created chances and played a big part in our dominance today. Definitely continuing on his improved performances from the past week.

Also, people need to feck off mentioning the price every time. Who gives a feck what he costs. You don't judge a player because we spent 90m on him. What we bought was a world class midfielder and he'll show that. The finishing will come no problem soon enough, he just needs to keep getting in the chances and the luck will change. I would worry way more about him if he wasn't getting in good positions and wasn't making chances as he has been.

Looking at comments in other threads I started to think noodlehair was right when he said people see different games when players they like play badly, because apparently Pogba played very well today according to a few but looking in here the general consensus seems to be that he was poor, which is how I saw it.

Does he need a drop to get a kick up his backside? Really annoying how wasteful he's being.

He's not playing at his best but he's still light years ahead of any other midfielder at the club, hopefully his form will improve with the teams.

Same when players they don't like play well. Unpopular players like Fellaini, Rooney and Valencia have to play out of their skin to get grudging praise while a shiny new toy like Pogba can serve up the dross he did today and get praise for a good performance. All in the caf, yo.

Agree fully with this. If that trio is going to work he has to do a bit of defending. It doesn't have to be Kante levels but simple things like marking and covering.
Like if Blind is overlapping and the opposition knick the ball and attack down our left, he can't just jog casually back, he's got the physicality just run over there and barge the cnut to the floor.

Dropping him would not mean we'd be playing someone better than him. It's purpose would only be to get him on track (kinda like with Martial. Is Lingard better? No but I think the drop did Martial well)

He's trying way too hard. Keep it simple, stay in position and use your short passing to build attacks. So many times we were playing hoofball in the second half because he wasn't in position to build the attack.

It seems crazy, but all of Fergie, LVG and now Mourinho have set up our midfield in ways that ends up leaving us with a one-man midfield.

He has to play better.

But he was always going to disappointing because of the massive expectations at 1st.

 Get out of here

The overreaction here.
was only 18% serious, Pogba in one team couldnt beat atrocious Stoke at home while the latter managed to beat city 2:0, just saying... and again I was joking

Not surprised - he's a very average player, technically, who usually compensates with his physical presence.

Fellaini revisited, if you wish.

His technical ability is one of his main strengths. The comparison with Fellaini is completely baffling. They are light years apart in just about every department.
