Almost as if he's stepped out of some shadow:wenger:

Him and Ibra, I think. After the first goal they both puffed their chests out and decided they were going to stamp some authority on the game - it was palpable. Neither of them lack the arrogance to do so with Rooney on the pitch but it's natural to defer to the captain on some level.

Happy he got a goal as I had a feeling it may have become a bit of an issue that he hadn't scored.

I was going to predict he'd score his first goal today but the match was kicking off so I didn't have time. Now I've lost the chance to look smug at my own correct prediction.

Yes, absolutely. Hopefully the second half is even better in that regard

Is there anyone better in world football when he plays like this? as a central midfielder of course. Truly unstoppable.

He was superb. Stamped his authority on the game and ran the show along with Mata.

Did he play with Drinkwater and Simpson in the youth team? He was talking to them like old mates. He's 3 years younger than the former and 6 years than the latter.

Looked much more like the performance he had against Southampton. Herrera's a very good partner for him I feel.

I have been saying that once he cut out his dribbling for the sake of it and actually passed the ball since he had the passing range, he would be great.

That's what he did today.

Brilliant today. Complete performance from him and you see how big of a difference it makes having the right players around him

With some real dynamism in there alongside him Pogba had the freedom to show his stuff. Quality.

He already looks much better next to Herrera. We do lack a player in the mould of Drinkwater though, a proper ballwinner in midfield. Would have been perfect if we would have signed Kante. Next summer hopefully we'll be looking to bring in another defensive midfielder unless Schneiderlin steps it up very soon. In the big games we should be looking to play like this though

--------Herrera-------Carrick/Fellaini/Schneiderlin (Whoever is in better form)
-----------------Pogba-----------

Much better from him today. He didn't force it, kept it simple, when a more difficult pass was on he executed it. He's comfortable under pressure. Need more of these types of performances. He has a tendency to go ahead of the ball when he makes the initial pass through the lines, I would like him to time that a bit better because when the person he passes to loses it we can be susceptible and Leicester got in some promising positions before we scored.

Great to watch today and looked so focused, his vision and passing in the final 3rd was a thing of beauty, him, Ibra and Rashford seemed to be getting a decent understanding.

He had options today, so he passed the ball, simple as that. If the team moves quickly and intelligently off the ball, he'll shine. If he gets isolated, he'll try too much on his own, but that's only partly his fault.

Today's game showed that he indeed needs a certain environment and support from his teammates to excel. And that's absolutely no shame, because it's true for basically every player (especially CMs).

Probably one of his bigger critics on here but I thought he played well and created a few opportunities playing cleverly over the top to Ibra.
