First time I've ever seen him up close. So impressive. Looked a level above everyone around him. Exactly what I hoped for when we signed him. A joy to watch.

This is what I like to hear! I bet Pogba looks even more immense live.

People seem to think '90m, he's wasted playing so deep', but forget that for so long we were so crap in midfield. It's such an important position. The fact he can play in a 2 or 3 gives the manager so many options, and that is invaluable. Plus we have 10 years of this. It's worth the up front 'premium' we've paid. He's class, simple as. Silly to compare him to proper goal scorers like Neymar or Bale.

He and Andre dominated in midfield. As dominant as you will see in this league. They won countless 50 50s

I actually don't even care about the transfer fee. It doesn't have any impact on me as a fan as long as it's not an issue for the club financially, which doesn't seem to be the case at all. We did probably pay over the odds for him, but he also adds a much needed dimension to our squad that we've been lacking so I don't particularly care. Has the potential to be an all time great

It's an experience isn't it. You just don't get it on TV. I remember seeing Ronaldo live and being in total awe. This absolute monster of a specimen hurtling down the wing like a freight train with the ball super glued to his toe. I've not seen Pogba live but I imagine it's the same thing. Special players just have this aura.

He and Herrera are really starting to get a good partnership going. They both work together trapping space and when 1 presses the other is close behind.

He uses his body to protect the ball as good as anybody in the world, it really is such an effective technique how he holds people away just far enough that he can do what he wants with the ball.

I can't work out if he's unlucky re goals or just quite poor at finishing. He has had so many shots saved or hitting the woodwork he should or could have so many goals this season.

I think hes unlucky in terms of the number of assists, cos that should be much higher.
But I understand and agree with regards to the finishing. Woodwork is possibly not unlucky as its not really on target, haha. But some of the chances hes seen saved have been decent saves.

Loved how he outmuscled Niang off the ball just after Niang did the same to Blind

You didn't and you never will. It is reported that United sold the most shirts last year, 2.8 million. Let's say that number is bs and you actually sold 5 million. Clubs get up to 15 € the most for each shirt sold.
The rest is easy math.
The cost of Pogba is accounted over the term of his contract which is up to 5 years.

What we need to understand is just because we paid a record fee for him doesn't mean we should necessarily build a team around him or play him in his favored position. We should do what is best for the team overall. If Pogba has to play slightly deeper and be more disciplined then so be it. With the players we have in our team, especially Mkhi and the likely signing of Greizmann, 4231 definitely suits the team better.

The combination of Herrera and Pogba works so well because of the energy they both have, in attack and defence. Herrera allows Pogba to do a little bit more in possession, but Pogba knows he has defensive duties.

I will admit, we did look a little bit open vs Watford and I cannot see us playing like this when we come up against teams who keep the ball better and we need to be more disciplined. But for the majority of games, this partnership is the best.

good performance with his role in midfield 2 that he had to play. although I'm still not confident if we meet top teams. well, if he can transform to be like Pirlo, it will be great since he is stronger and faster. come on Pogba!

Agree. You don't let a transfer fee dictate position.

Playing that midfield role like a mature professional now (well the last two games).

That's inevitable. My young lad's first game ever and he's completely hooked now

That's great.

I remember you were a broken man under Van Gaal as it was ruining your son's enthusiasm for United.

I don't have kids but hearing that was just tragic!

Looks like he'll get to enjoy a proper United team in his formative years!

Don't get the whole talk about his transfer fee. The club has probably already gotten those money back from his marketing value.

Not sure if this has been posted, but he is actually playing better for us than Juve in a much more difficult league.

Superb my son and daughter were the same this season Pogue now whenever United are on the TV the kids are glued and the Mrs has no choice

I hope we don't play him so deep next season and turn him into a 90m pound Carrick. He is so much better up the field with his creativity and little pot shots at goal where he is more threatening

Yeah, "how come we never shoot at their goal" was a hard question to answer.

He just scored more impressive goals for Juve and utilised his dribbling better but other than that, he is definitely the better player here. His passing was extreme underrated before he arrived, it's phenomenal at times.

The statistics are good but it doesn't say everything about a player. I've seen Pogba play this season and last season, there's absolutely no doubt that he was 2 times better last season and that's normal ! It would have been very strange if he was better here than in Italy.

Juventus have better players than Manchester United and unlike us, they built the team around Pogba to get the best out of him. He was their talisman while in Manchester it looks like Mourinho doesn't even know where is his best position..

I know he was in a 2 in the midfield, so on paper he is deeper but I thought in reality yesterday he just went about his game as normal. He had his standard 3 or 4 shots, including one good dart into the box and his passing was great at starting the attacks. When we are as dominant as we were yesterday I really don't think playing in a 2 makes much of a difference from playing in a three.
