I had my doubts about him, eventhough I knew he had the ability. Really happy to see he's is doing well and hope goes from strength to strength.

Unrelated but that clearance right there really annoys me. Its so unnecessary and just leads to the ball being lost against us.

We tend to do it a lot when we are hanging on and kills our counter ability.

Absolutely. What the feck is Smalling doing there. Mhkitaryan is as open as you can be, besides at 0:1 down there is nothing to clear in this situation anyway.

The price tag discussion is just silly. Did we overpay by about £20m? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Pogba as he is now can give us 10 years of quality service easily. That's more value than we can get out of ~ £120m spunk since 07 on Anderson, Hargreaves, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Fellaini.

Great point.Love seeing him play for us. Now if only those shots would stop hitting the posts and go in

Oh, it annoyed the feck out of me at the time (though everything did tbf). Throwing possession away.

40 yard screamer in the 90th minute to win the match at Old Trafford against Liverpool:drool:. One can only dream.
I'd rather we totally embarrassed them and win 5-0 with a super performance.

Obviously every United fan would love that scoreline but you, me and everyone else on this forum knows it's not going to be like that. I think it's going to be a very close game and a piece of magic like a 40 yard screamer might be the difference.

I totally get what Juventuz was so devastated.
The guy is amazing. To be so talented and yet so strong. Looks like he's playing with kids.

He's doing brilliantly. He isn't worth £90million and only prime Ronaldo or Messi are, we got shafted there, we know that, everyone knows it. But that's not the point, we bought a fantastic midfielder and he's improving every week. He does most things brilliantly. He chips in with goals, he's creative, his passing is great, his workrate is improving and he has to be one of the strongest men in the league in possession. Like a brick wall.
Pogba is one of the most marketable athletes in the world though, fees these days are more than just about ability. He might not be worth that as a player but as a PR machine for the club I bet he certainly will be.

Pogba is worth the money for a number of reasons. We never got shafted. There is a knock on effect and we will get the benefits from that. When you buy the best players, it attracts other quality players and it also means that you are stronger to keep your best players. Pogba has developed to the level we could have expected. People can see his footwork now and his ability to pick open a pass. It is a pity we had early season problems (and the Europa) as we might have challenged Chelsea this season but we can do good things this season still. When you sign Pogba etc, it boosts everyones confidence. As a time, when we've been struggling for form and identity - we're now stabilizing which is good for us and bad for the rest of the league.

In terms of footballing performances Pogba might have not been spectacular by any means but he is young and massively talented and already looking better at the moment than in the beginning. But besides that, his marketing potential is crazy and is important for Utd's prestige.

United really needed a new player to be the face of the club now that Rooney is on the wane (pun intended) and Pogba fits the bill perfectly

YEP YEP YEP AND YEPPPP.

I think it's slightly subconscious/tactical. Under Mourinho, 'defenders defend first' and that whole 'first station press' thing.

Hopefully give it time and we'll play it out from the back more because if we can initate that first or second pass out of the defence usually after an opposition attack that means the whole field is open for the likes of Miki, Pogba, Zlatan and Martial to exploit

Very good again yesterday, he isn't feeling the pressure of the hefty price tag so much now.

He's a physical beast and in almost every aspect of football, he will complete in the next few years. Nowhere near his prime yet.

Pogba is worth 90 million to Manchester United. Therefore is worth 90 million

Simply stated. Agree 100%

That simply stated and short argument has been made gazillion of times here on the forum but it doesn't look like it appeals to a lot of people. Either they do not bother reading it hard enough or if they do they probably don't exactly try to understand the logic behind. I do not blame them. The statement, while short and precise, asks for some mulling over by the reader before it could start to make sense to them which I am sure most of the detractors do not like doing. Somebody had to make an effort to elaborate on it. You're welcome.

I'm sat near the away fans so don't really hear many united songs. Anyone got a video of what the Pogba song is assuming there is one?

Has there ever been another player that passed the ball with such flair?

I remember watching that pass to Fellaini and saying to myself: How did he do that? it looked like he hit it with the outside of his right foot and the pace and accuracy is just unreal. I can't think of another midfielder in the world right now who could have made that pass.

Watching the way he hits diagonal passes feels the same way it did when I first learnt that most top tennis players are effectively hitting their topspin baseline rallies with their hands backwards compared to how you learn to hold your racket as a pleb. I thought Carrick and Scholes and Rooney were great at those diagonal balls, but what Pogba does is a whole different thing.

Also, to give him his due, that clip does remind me of the journo who described Fellaini's chest as 'marsupial'.

I still find it surreal that this was the kid some of us were excited about when he was in the reserves, who left us in controversial fashion and has only come back thanks to a world record fee.

I was sure he was gonna turn up back in the Prem for either Chelsea or City.

His handshake with Martial.

Team spirit must be through the roof this season, Jose doing wonders for this club.

The long ball to Fellaini was made look better because of Fellaini's control. That was hit like a tennis ball. Exceptional control.
