Any chance we can change the photo of Pogba for this thread? A new one to be specific. I know it's a petty request but that Pogba is not the animal we are seeing today.

You seeing it yet, fella?

I have to admit, yes. I'm seeing it. And am glad to admit same. Didn't see today's game as I was on a flight but I've seen enough in recent weeks. He's still not my 'style' of midfielder, I'd prefer a clone of Keane. But yeah, Paul is impressive.

Such a strong player, near impossible to dispossess. Add in great touch and vision. What a star he's going to be for United.

When he held the ball up on the right wing late in the game, with Pogba stretching his leg out and the player on his shoulder you could see the player thinking "Christ man, I'm about 2.5m away from the ball right now."

If a perfect combination of a #10 / #8 and #6 who also loves the club and is still young isn't your cup of tea then you are hard to please.

He is unique. A defensive mid, creative or box-box can be bought, a 3 for 1 deal doesn't come along very often though.

Yep I'm hard to please. The one thing I would say about him is he will frustrate us in games in the future, by going missing. I'll stake me caf 'reputation' on that . As I say I prefer the combative style of Keane in a midfielder, Pogba won't be that but it looks like he'll bring a different dimension.

Then your worry is mis-guided and should be aimed as the roles occupied by Carrick and Herrera currently.

Pogba is more than holding his own as a midfielder in that three.

My 'frustration' was at the original signing. As I said at the time I hope he does well. He's doing well. Happy days .

Same here, I fancy the type of midfielder that is like Verratti, Modric, Kroos, etc. But Pogba is so unique that I have to say I have never seen anyone like that before. He's not a 10/10 at anything but a 8/10 at about everything.

He's a proper midfielder and a world class one at that. None of this nonsense about only being good at certain things that's spouted about some of the other CM's these days. A truly complete midfielder.

Justifing the hype around him and why he was such an important signing for us this summer. Needs to get the basics consistently right and cut out the crap wayward simple passes. But oh boy is he on fire and coming up with the goods at the right moments.

Such an amazing player, love him! He's winner too, didn't stop trying to win the game today and that rubs off on the other players.

Future captain.

Isn't an 8 a balance of a 10 and a 6? He's just an 8 isn't he?

10 goals + assists so far, and he should have had a handful more already!

Pogba will go missing in a match I'm sure, because every player in the history of football has bad performances. You're not staking anything on that.

I love him. Paul Labile Pogba, what a fecking player.

Yeah, I guess. What differs with Pogba is that he got attacking skills like one of the more silky and continental AM's while still having the steel and presence of the more meat and potato type #8/#6 though. Most often you have to compromise either in the physical, defensive or creative department when it comes to your midfielders.

It is like you've booted up FM Editor and made yourself an all purpose midfielder.

Bossing midfield... it's all coming together for Pogba. Delighted.

Has there ever been a player who doesnt occassionally frustrate?

Hes made an astonishing difference to our team. We have finally got some world class players all over.

I hate manchester united so much

Players like pogba they play for real madrid. That is the way of the world.

Well you didn't want him, so you say.

He is a monster. Thought he was a bit off in the 1st half. Some sloppy passes, but he raised his game in the 2nd half.

His desire and drive remind me of Ronaldo's. Complete beast.

He has a telepathic connection with Ibra too. The best duo we've had since Rooney-Ronaldo.

Some of his long range passing today was absolutely ridiculous. And he made it look absolutely effortless.

He's a generational talent. Given the right development curve he'll go down in history books. He'll be hitting his prime by the next World Cup as well, with a great French squad he'll have a massive chance to go on and get that elusive honour.

There was a long range pass which he made with the outside of his foot in the second half. Was fckin ridiculous. Its not even that he can hit it across like that, its that it lands right on the players feckin foot.

Nice to see him get the winner at the Stretty end. Majestic performance and hes adding the stats to his games (assists and goals). Initially thought it was Bailly, but that ball from pogba to Ibra was fantastic. Was such a perfect height.

Also LOL @ Avg Rating = 6.3

Today was a great example of why his gradual improvement is about so much more than him needing to play ahead of Carrick to have a good game. He may have come from United but had barely any more senior PL football experience than any continental import and the learning curve has been obvious. Now he's looking more and more comfortable with PL football with each match he plays, no matter how we line up.

He's doing brilliantly. He isn't worth £90million and only prime Ronaldo or Messi are, we got shafted there, we know that, everyone knows it. But that's not the point, we bought a fantastic midfielder and he's improving every week. He does most things brilliantly. He chips in with goals, he's creative, his passing is great, his workrate is improving and he has to be one of the strongest men in the league in possession. Like a brick wall.

People also forget to factor in how relative those £90m are to us. As an example we have 3-4x the turnover of Spurs, yet they've bought a shit player in Sissoko for £30m.

Who got the worst deal? Their £30m is our £90m. I'd say we got the better deal. And that is just considering the footballing side of things, if you factor in the commercial I'd wager Pogba got a bit more appeal than Sissoko as well, putting it mildly.

One of those fees that seems batshit insane at the time, but we'll look back at it and have a right laugh, just like RM with the Ronaldo fee.

And 28 year old Higuain isn't worth 75 mil pounds.

The market has changed. This is the new normal.

Well said. I am pretty sure relative to our turnover, it's not the biggest deal in our revered history. Think Rio was the highest.

Most thought 80 mil for Ronaldo was a great deal for United, but in hindsight now, Real Madrid arguably fleeced us. Ronaldo was worth much more than the 80 million.
