From what I have seen of Dorgu, he has a good personality and I am sure he will do his best at United. I do not understand this transfer, but I hope he turns out to be our left back for the next 10 years.
Yep sounds fair. Next to no chance he’ll be available for Palace I reckon. He'll need a visa before he can train/play. Even if the transfer is formalized tomorrow, I wouldn't expect he will be able to train before Monday/Tuesday at the earliest. So expect him to be on the bench against Leicester.
What don't you understand about this transfer ?From what I have seen of Dorgu, he has a good personality and I am sure he will do his best at United. I do not understand this transfer, but I hope he turns out to be our left back for the next 10 years.
Is that his rumoured weekly wage? A welcome step in the right direction if so.Had concerns with the transfer, but 30k a week 24m is looking better, fingers crossed he is a success because boy do we need him to be.
I have seen him play for Denmark and Lecce, and I see him as average and at the same level as Malacia. But I hope that it's just me who sees wrong. What don't you understand about this transfer ?

Yeah, I'm not saying we overpaid or anything. I was just replying to a post suggesting we got him for below market value. When it comes to player value that site isn’t exactly accurate, especially for players that quickly come into the spotlight. Either way, player value is always going to be subjective based on the club selling and club buying.
£29m for Dorgu is an okay price. £25m is probably what I would guess is fair value, but the extra £4m we can accept as January tax rather than the usual Utd tax. In previous years this could easily have spiralled to £40m.
Kayode had a great debut season and fully took advantage of the minutes he got to showcase his physical and defensive attributes but most would agree that offensively he’s got a lot to work on and currently is reliant on those physical traits. While true he was also miles better last season than Dorgu is (as a fullback). And the reason he hasnt played as much is an older right back is doing well as Fiorentina have moved up from an 8th placed finish to 6th currently. Lecce are 14th of course he would play there
After his injury, Malacia has struggled with the pace of the EPL. If you are referring to pre-injury Malacia, I can live with that as a good base.I have seen him play for Denmark and Lecce, and I see him as average and at the same level as Malacia. But I hope that it's just me who sees wrong.
Malacia has given us absolutely nothing going forward. Dorgu will be an improvement there, you would hope.I have seen him play for Denmark and Lecce, and I see him as average and at the same level as Malacia. But I hope that it's just me who sees wrong.
I agree 100% Dorgu is the exact kind of profile of player I want to see us sign. But that's what good scout is for, finding these type of players. There are precedents.
And more importantly, that's what a "skint" Club need to do.
I agree 100% Dorgu is the exact kind of profile of player I want to see us sign.
Liverpool signed the likes of Gini (can't spell his surname) and Robertson from struggling and relegated clubs. It turnt out well for them, because they knew exactly what the manager needed to succeed.
I hope we can follow the same path.
I feel like people who have seen him back then said pretty much the same things about Malacia. Good guy, will give his all, questionable if good enough (yet)From what I have seen of Dorgu, he has a good personality and I am sure he will do his best at United. You have to factor in Malacias Injury and how much it has really set him back thoughI feel like people who have seen him back then said pretty much the same things about Malacia. Good guy, will give his all, questionable if good enough (yet)
Oh yeah of course, but it's not like he was a worldbeater before the injury. Still a punt worth making I'd say, but people need to be careful with their expectationsYou have to factor in Malacias Injury and how much it has really set him back though
You never really know, but I think his level is similar to Malacia when we signed him. Maybe a better fit without being a much better playerIs he any better than Malacia?

Pool signed them at the right age . We are signing very young and inexperienced players but expect them to deliver from day 1.I agree 100% Dorgu is the exact kind of profile of player I want to see us sign.

Still a rough diamond, but hás a lot of potential. His physical attributes are actually a good fit for Premier league, he is strong and very fast.Is he any better than Malacia?
I'm not a fan of Malacia at all, so that is incredibly disappointing. He'll have to improve massively.I agree - he is a different type, and he fits the new formation better. But I still see him as a player at the same level as Malacia.
Yeah the old strategy was they want 40 and we offer 50.30m€ while Lecce demanded 40, knowing we're desperate for a LWB. Say what you want about INEOS, but the negotiations seem to be on a different level than it used to be. Well done.
Lecce is not exactly in a financial position to refuse a 30M offer. Fair deal.
Agreed. I’m glad he isn’t just targeting former players like ETH did. Although I would like us to sign Gyokeres and Quenda from sporting. No idea what he’s like as a player but if he was Amorim’s choice then hopefully he’ll fit in. Not expecting him to transform the team but I’m looking forward to seeing if Amorim is on the money when it comes to getting new players in.
Have you met Manchester United fans? He's got exactly two bad games before he is labeled as shite, a flop or a waste of space.Just hope people remember this is a 20 year old placed into a terrible team and a new league.
25M
30k a week
That’s impressive to be fair
Good luck to him. Hope he hits it off quickly
