Gravenberch also didn't break through at Bayern so there was a question mark on whether he was capable of being a regular for an elite club, and they ended up just moving on by recouping basically what they paid for him.
£24m / €30m seems a good bit of business here, surprised the initial fee was quite that low - I half expected United to get pushed close to £38m / €45m because that's just what United have done of late (overpay for players).

And while I wouldn't suggest that a Dane could understand every English player/fan from around Manchester, but you will struggle to find people under 40 in Denmark who don't speak English to an understandable degree.

We haven’t seen those Daily Mail type articles for a while where the transfer fee (including add ons and in euros) are clubbed with the rough total salary over a 5 year period (also including all bonus elements) and the total investment is presented as 500 million. A treatment only reserved for Man United signings.

There's no guarantee that an established played would cost 10 million more. We'll have to wait and see what Dorgu's ceiling looks like.
I think the original person who asked the question just got mixed up and thought the young player signing from Italy was Italian - which is why they asked if we had other Italian speakers.
I think everyone who knows he's Danish will guess that he can speak Danish, and that most Danish people will have various levels of competency of English.
He'll need a visa before he can train/play. Even if the transfer is formalized tomorrow, I wouldn't expect he will be able to train before Monday/Tuesday at the earliest. So expect him to be on the bench against Leicester.

Transfermarkt bases their player valuations on 'market value analysis' and 'discussions with registered users'.
What they think a player is worth means absolutely nothing. We could do the same thing here on the caf and attach our own value to every player in the world. Just like TM, it would hold no real use or value to actual football clubs engaging in real player transfers.
When it comes to player value that site isn’t exactly accurate, especially for players that quickly come into the spotlight. Either way, player value is always going to be subjective based on the club selling and club buying.
£29m for Dorgu is an okay price. £25m is probably what I would guess is fair value, but the extra £4m we can accept as January tax rather than the usual Utd tax. In previous years this could easily have spiralled to £40m.
