Paris terror attacks on Friday 13th

The ISIS threat requires more than just bombing them every now and then, they have a country now and advancing in another, they're growing. There needs to be an effort from the entire world coming from the united nations, an effort to end this once and for all.

The issue with any future war will be that while many ISIS may die in a land war, they will also retaliate with 100s of hit and run bomb and gun attacks in the capital cities of any allied army. Im not sure people in the west have the stomach for that. It will be a very unconventional war, which allies have never fought before.

K
Keep safe.
Cheers. We were at the restaurant with my parents and a friend, learned about what happened just as the main courses arrived. We hardly ate anything and struggled to get a taxi back home and now are just watching the live news. So many stories of friends of friends who were around in the district, one of them I can't get any news of...

Did the interviewer ask him to count the bodies? I just flicked over and he was asking the guy if he can see the dead bodies still on the street, then I'm sure he asked how many!

Events like these always bring out the worst in the media. There are no sanctions for misreporting.

Yeah, can't believe he asked him to count the bodies. Good on him to reply he'd rather not. Just gave an approx number. And he definitely said insha Allah, I rewound the interview. Makes sense I suppose as loads of Muslims mingle and go out like normal people.

I'm sorry but you lot can be so fecking thick sometimes.

You think killing 5000-10,000 jihadis is going to end this? The names change...Taliban...AQ...ISIS today.

It will be a new name and new group tomorrow.
Let's just do nothing and let them grow then, sounds much better.

Stay safe mate, my thoughts are with you and yours.

Up to 60 dead according to reports in France. Absolutely atrocious scenes.

A fair amount of you are horrible bigots who just happen to be on the opposite side of the jihadis. You think the same way, you see huge swathes of humanity as your enemies, and you want indiscriminate massacres like they do. I'm embarrassed for you.

Some of you are already claiming this is the work of Syrian refugees. Based on absolutely nothing. You total twats.

Hope all turns out well for your friend

Don't mean any offence but I'm so happy I live in Ireland. A Christian Island that's cut off from Mainland Europe.
I live near Derry and know all a ok this sort of terrorist attack, it can be policed in the long run.
What you will see is militant groups policing their own areas. Again using Derry us an example the amount of drug dealers ran off from the north, punished or shot is well known.

All funded and originating from the same nation that we all kotow too. Saudi Arabia.

Not a chance. The more that these attacks occur, the more it leads to one eventuality. That eventuality is not Europe on its knees. It's a worrying prospect but one that can't be considered unreasonable.
I would hate terror camps to become comon place across Europe again though. Most Muslims are good people it's just a small minority that causes the problem.

Stay safe pal, hope everything is ok.

I've been saying this from the start. Those who think this conflict will end without a full scale war are kidding themselves.

True. This situation has been fuelled by foreign policy. Starting another ground war isn't going to stop a war without borders.

Anyway, this isn't the time to be bickering about tackling terrorism. It's a time to think about the many innocent, ordinary people who've been killed. It's utterly horrific.

Agreed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in Paris.

But the anger and bigotry. Where was that yesterday? The thread on the Beirut attacks had like 12 replies.

Someone earlier said it was his band. He is not there apparently
Oh sorry

The band were eagles of death metal

They actually played in Dublin a couple of days ago

Edit: just read up about them I never realised josh homme was a member. But apparently he never plays live with them
