Paris terror attacks on Friday 13th

I don't blame the refugees, but they provide perfect cover for terrorists. They can get into Europe with the hordes and then stay hidden until they can carry out whatever their activities are (recruiting, attacks, etc.).

good point, the world is in complete and utter chaos at the moment.

In my neighbourhood 4 youths (!) went to Syria of whom 2 are reported to be dead. Where does this loyalty to IS come from? There is a whole generation of young men with Middle-Eastern and African roots that have solidarity with Islamic extremists. Is it purely because of the Western troops in the Middle-East?

Because the poorly educated are easy to manipulate.

Probably, but what else can they do?

I think these two things, the terrorist attack and the influx of migrants, will possibly the death of the Schengen, if indeed these are foreign terrorists.

Such a bad Tweet. Who exactly is blaming the refugees? And most of the refugees are Sunnis who are escaping Assad's forces not the Sunni jihadists who are probably behind this attack yet thousands of people are retweeing this confused rubbish? Nobody seems to know what the feck they are talking about.

I really don't know. It's especially surprising considering the fact that the west has a completely different ideology to the muslim world. I wouldn't expect them to be radicalized.

People on twitter. And I would say they are escaping from both.

I'm signing off for the night, been a heavy one in terms of feeling and stuff. RIP to all those who won't make it home tonight, awful stuff and I think the world will change in more than a few ways over the next few months. Night all.

Here is what French president François Hollande told reporters outside the Bataclan concert hall just now:

To all those who have seen these awful things, I want to say we are going to lead a war which will be pitiless.

Because when terrorists are capable of committing such atrocities they must be certain that they are facing a determined France, a united France, a France that is together and does not let itself be moved, even if today we express infinite sorrow.

Young men feeling alienated from western society being lured into some fecked up fantasy. They don't realise they're being exploited.

Same place the "feck the police" attitude comes from in virtually every "bad" neighbourhood in every country in the world I imagine. That part of your brain where it's "us vs them".

I was also hearing about young girls saying that ISIS members are extremely ... sexy? Just like Gangsters are elsewhere.

The BBC were just talking to someone claiming to live opposite the restaurants in the 11th district, and as this person was trying to explain what they saw the presenter cut him off to go to a statement from the Canadian president giving the standard supportive message - shouldn't they really be prioritising the potential eye witness?

Personally doubt the terrorists of today's attacks are foreigners. France is exactly not lacking in home grown terrorism. No other EU country has more citizens fighting in Syria and Iraq.

I think most of time(Well at least in the UK)the kids going over to join ISIS are from good backgrounds and intelligent. There was a group A+ students(Girls as well) who left recently to join ISIS.

I think their easy to bainwash because their young kids but I don't think their stupid.

"we are going to lead a war which will be pitiless". Without Pity. Scary

I image there's good odds that these attackers were French.

it seems that second and third generations in europe get radicalized more easily as they don't see the whole picture, it would not surprise me if these attackers had been born in france . dont know witch is worse , having european pass and getting turned or playing sheep between the refugees

Rest In Peace, to all those poor folks who have lost their lives.

From my experience BBC24 is always terrible in these type of fast moving stories.

I'm sure they are, like I said apparently a large portion of ISIS is French.

People naively think the solidarity is national when it is in fact ideological. We need to wake up to the fact these people are being bred in Europe and are going to Syria, which is the hub if you will, and part of the modus operandi of ISIS is to train up these committed Jihadis to send them back to Europe for these large-scale terror attacks.

Rip to those lost.
Can help but feel the pain of my Muslim colleagues at times like this. This is not Islam nor representative of millions of people. Yet they will be the ones that get the shady looks and bigoted media comments.
My Muslim colleague just said "they bring it on themselves!!!". I'm not surprised though he said similar things after 911 and was reported by one of the girls here but feck all was done.

Some are escaping Sunni fanaticism, most aren't. But it doesn't really matter. I just wish that morons like Dan fecking Holloway (whoever the feck he is) would stop with their self righteous guff. It just further confuses the picture and creates a false association between constructive criticism of an ancient book and hateful sentiment towards refugees.

who? Muslims or the west?

Thats surely the most ironic statement today

The west. I think he says this shit for effect to be honest. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Ask him whether Thailand brought on the recent bombing in Bangkok as a result of their foreign policy.

Whats strange... or possibly related to intel received... is that was planned before the attacks anyway.

Much deeper than that.
Look at the way our society is structured, it's just wrong. I can understand why people can develop extreme ideologies, though I do not agree with their actions.
