Pacquiao v Mayweather

Hopefully it is in May not March

Mayweather will win, he is the best, and I will put my money on it

its march 13th the date thats agreed, there is only fee's to sort out

its becuase of phillipino elections in may

i agree mayweather will win

It may get pushed til May, big rumors about that

Make no mistake about it, this fight will be fought on the Pretty Boy's terms, if he doesnt feel fit enough by January or so it will happen

It's quite the other way around, the Pretty Boy is the one who will walk in undefeated and put it all on the line, including the title of Best Pound for Pound Boxer All-Time, if the fight moves forward it will do so on his terms

It will be a great fight, but the Champ is the Champ until he is a beaten to the fans, Mayweather is currently undefeated hope it is in May though, reckon I will go

Pretty Boy has more to lose going into this fight, but he also needs this fight to cement his legacy..if he were to win this convincingly he'd earn the respect of all boxing fans, the hardcore fans already appreciate him but I believe it would do his reputation wonders.

Both fighters have the chance to cement themselves up there with the real greats of the game, its in both their interests to press ahead with this fight.

Where is the fight taking place? Vegas, I presume?

The Pac Man should insist it be in Manila. The atmosphere would be immense.

There will never be a fight in the Eastern world that matters, in the age of Pay Per View

I don't see why it should matter. People in the US aren't more likely to pay to watch a fight on TV just because it's in the US. Having it somewhere different might even boost PPV sales because it'd give the fight more of an edge. Vegas gets a bit tedious.

Thriller in Manila II.

They are more likely to watch a fight that they are awake for though

The US has the most ppv hits, it would be in China if they had more, its all about money

but the money from all of the tickets sold in vegas is very high, higher than the income from those same people watching on PPV.

that and the fact that vegas obviously pay authorities for big fights etc...

Ah, I didn't think about time difference.

Meh, I'm not all that fussed a long as I get to see the fight.

Me either, but it does def matter in terms of revenue. It will be 60 million apiece for this one which means its happening in Vegas

My money's on the PacMan for this one. I would never count him out. The great thing about him is he is incredibly focussed, he doesn't get caught up in the pre match talks, and he is incredibly fast.

But will be a close fight. :D Can't wait for this one...

Do shut up, he's probably not even in the top 50.

Could this not have been put in the boxing thread, new threads are not made when MMA fights are made or for every individual grand prix etc...

Ummm I think you answered your own question. I meant to put in possible but the point still stands, the funny thing is that people think Ali walks or should I say walks with a shuffled gait to it is a bit much.

Mayweather not in the Top 50, hahaha most ridiuclous thing I have heard on the caf in a while

to be fair this is one of the biggest fights in a long time, haye valuev had a thread too.

Cotto Pacquiao didn't, it was all in the Boxing thread and that was a hell of a lot bigger then Haye v The Sloth.

Nevermind.

Its not quite as ridiculous as someone managing over 30,000 posts in 2 years.

Though the fact you think Mayweather is the greatest fighter of all time says it all. Tell me whats so great about him? He's not fit enough to lace Sugar Rays boots.

I said it earlier, I meant to say one of the greatest. Hell maybe it was a Freudian slip, hmmm why could he be considered the greatest 25 KOs in 40 fights, the fastest hand speed ever, oh and he has never fecking lost..........

This'll be one hell of a fight, I might even pay for it just to show my appreciation to the guys who who made it happen (Probably won't actually pay, mind). I'd love to see Manny beat the shit out of Mayweather, but it'd be a close run thing and I'd probably sooner put money on Mayweather coming out on top

Manny fights like he did against Miguel Cotto then Mayweathers in trouble....Mayweather has a fantastic defence so its hard to judge how good his Chin actually is i cant remember him ever really being hit...but hes never fought someone with the speed and combined power of the Pacman....Think pacman will stop him in the 11th...

Miguel Cotto is a great fighter and yet he was literally schooled by pacman...Mayweather looked good against an over the hill Marquez...

I really cant tell if your joking or not, boo fecking hoo, 25 kos from 40 fights

 Calzanghe & Ottake never lost. All timers there.

For pure hand speed Pacquiao is faster then him.

Mayweather could have been regarded as a "all-time great" but he has cherry picked all his opponents 140 above, 130-135 is where he looked great. For me to consider him great he will need to beat Pacquiao Mosley and P.Williams.

I'm not predicting who wins this if it happens, both are far too good to bet against. Just sit back and enjoy.

Get it done.

...he's probably not even in the top 50.

ARE YOU MAD !?

Come on now, he and Pacman are both top 50, top 40 easily as well, hell top 30 depending on your merits... It's not a stretch to say top 20, but this fight will decide potentially who goes down in the top 10.

And Mayweather has a VERY good chance to be in the same breaths of the GOAT's, Pacman as well but to a lesser extent.

Great for his weight class

haahahahahhahahahaha givee a break

Should be a great fight. I hope Pacquiao knocks him the feck out.

Yeah, I actually like Mayweather, I loved how he took Hatton apart, but for this one I am wanting Pacquiao to win.

Could be a classic fight.

Not really the fact he would be defeating a bigger man who happens to be undefeated and with the class of Mayweather would propel him just as high if not higher than if Mayweather was to win the fight.

Should be a great fight. Almost impossible to call but I'm taking Manny. It's hard to tell how he'll do against PBF's stellar defense but Pacman has the handspeed and ability to land shots better than anyone Floyd has ever fought.

I worry about PBF's level of competition too. Amazing as he is, he's handpicked his fights and he's undeniably ducked the best fighters so far. Fighting a 36 y/o Marquez at that weight was a disgrace, and it's even more embarassing that he came in a few pounds overweight and wouldn't talk about it.

I like Floyd, but I hope Manny wins (and I think he will). He is a more likable character and doesn't duck good fighters. He does his job and that's it. Floyd simply cannot hurt Pacquiao. Pacquiao took some good shots from Cotto and Cotto is significantly stronger than Floyd. That said, Floyd's speed could be deadly in this fight, he'll certainly be able to land more than Cotto if he decides not to run away for the whole fight.

This could be the fight of the decade. I don't think two faster boxers have ever gone up against eachother.
Pacquiao takes it for me. Only way Floyd can win is on points (which is very possible, and some might say likely, to be fair)

Great for his weight class

haahahahahhahahahaha givee a break

Which A-class fighters has he exactly beat at 140 above?

Oh and going back to what you define as great:

Edwin Valero, 25 wins 25 KOs, 2 weight world champion, never fecking lost.
Greatest of all time

A lot of it is subjective, some might not have him in top 50 other top 40 some ignorant enough to have him in the top 10.

The position of some fighters I agree with and some I don't but here Mayweather just sneaks into the top 40 at 48. The list was complied just before he fought Hatton, so unless beating Hatton and Marquez are seen as career defining wins then I don't think he would had moved very far!

Oh and by the way Pacquiao has gone way beyond Mayweather.

50 Greatest Boxers of All-Time

DelaHoya 39 on that list...

Surely Mayweather should be above him.

Spoony, Id class DelaHoya as a great fighter ;)

Saying that, I hope he gets pasted by Pacquiao
