They only sell their toplayers if they have no other choice, if their contract is about to run out. They always tried to keep their best players.

Dembele still has 4 years for them, so he will atleast be for 2-3 more years there. I think right now Dortmund would even reject 100m. This is 0% chance for this summer to happen.
Probably correct, unless he pushed for a move. I don't see many other teams strongly linked with him, which probably means he doesn't want a move and which probably explains why we are going for Perisic instead of him.

Think he's more promising than Mbappe, got far more in his locker but Mbappe seems more finished, more mature at younger age.

Mbappe is Rooney, Dembele is Ronaldo lol. Dembele really has to work on his end product, but what a talent.

It's hard not to be jealous of all the talent the French have. They are destined for big things (on paper). A forward line of Mbappe-Griezmann-Dembele in next year's World Cup will rival anything on a club or international level.

There isn't one standing out at the moment but I would love someone to just replace Griezmann. IMHO he will become the weak link in the attack in the very near futur.

I've wanted Dembele ahead of Griezmann this summer. He's a game changer. It would work if we had Dembele for the RW. Martial and Rashford can compete for the LW while Dembele and Mhiki for the RW. A front three of Martial/ Morata/ Dembele would be frightening.

Surprisingly I had the same thought today, I like Griezmann but it would be great if Lacazette could step up because he is a better fit for Lemar, Mbappé and Dembélé. Or a midfield three with Rabiot.

I watched "l'Equipe du Soir" recently and Guy Roux was so underwhelmed by him, he gave a pretty honest and refreshing assessment of him. Much different from the usual journo B.S you hear about Griezmann (France's best player bla bla bla). Truth be told, there isn't a single player who is standing out for France just like there isn't a true natural leader in the team. Both roles are ripe for Pogba to take, just needs more consistency.

He was bloody fantastic. In all honesty we should throw €90m at him and see what happens.

Disgusting we didn't go for him last summer. I know he wanted regular football, but he would have walked in our side and he could have looked at how we started Martial always in his first season.

I would break the bank for him because he's everything we missing in attack.

Why do you think we weren't interested?

He's all set to be a top class player but his finishing technique is terrible. I know he's already more of a creator than a scorer now but I wonder if he'll drop deeper eventually and become a pure playmaker.

Dembele to Barca
Mbappe to Real

Dortmund could buy a lot with £80 million as they're very much like Benfica in that every year they sell their best players and some how find more great players with the money spent from selling one or two and build great squads from it, selling Dembele would probably fund 4 or 5 players for Dortmund.

Is it just me or are there a lot of bloody talented players potentially available? Like really talented all at the same time.

That is not how Dortmund works.

Been a big fan of his for awhile now. I would be ecstatic if he ended up at United.

He and Mbappé are both more desirable than Griezmann in my opinion. Can't Barca just buy Griezmann and leave him to us?!

That's so true about Dortmund.
Lets put it like this, by the time our new winger Perisic turns 30 or 31 years old, Dembele will be up for sale for possibly double or triple the amount.

I remember watching his highlights last season and thinking this guy reminds me of Best. I was bewildered that Dortmund signed him and we didn't even give a yelp. We'll wait til he's 28 and pay about 200 mil. I suppose. Then I'll be saying I don't want him and everyone else will say: Yes! This is just the experience we need and we know the manager wants him. He's coming into his prime!

He's far from his prime in my opinion, and perhaps he may never reach it. Dembele is by far the most talented of all the young players in world football right now in my opinion. He has such a natural gift for dribbling, can pass and score with both feet, incredible crossing ability already. But whereas with Mbappe I'm convinced he will deliver on his promise, there's still a lot of question marks over Dembele. His mentality is the only thing that can hold him back besides injuries. This is a guy who threatened to retire and live in Senegal a year and a half ago. He's found a good place in Dortmund to develop, and even if he is unhappy with the firing of Tuschel, he seems set on staying in Dortmund (which he confirmed in a French interview right after the England friendly).

The point is, I think he needs a stable environment with a coach that has patience and can develop young talents because he can be frustrating just as much as he can be brilliant in a game and I'm not sure Mourinho is the best coach to handle him. He's someone who right now can create a moment of magic in every game and be decisive with an assist or a goal, but he's also prone to a lot of stupid passes and questionable decisions. If he's moving anywhere in the summer, it's not to Barcelona because he wants to be a starter, which he would be in Dortmund.

Said it before but we should be going all out for this guy. If we can't get Mbappe.. get Dembele.
I'd probably take Dembele over anyone else. Pure magic in his feet. Mbappe looks a terrific finisher but Dembele could be a completely dominant player if he lives up to his potential.

Agreed with everyone here... He should be a main target for us this summer and is exactly what we need at the RF/RW

The weak link? Kouroux he's their best player!

We saw the same thing when Zizou retired too, Titi couldn't really lead this team much less Evra - it's the perennial issue with Les Bleus, leadership

Of course, most French I know think the coaches are to blame as they don't have any faith in the youth and play mind numbingly boring football - this is supported by the fact that despite all the great talent out there, not a lot of great French coaches

When he was leaving France, Liverpool offered him a 6 figure contract, he rejected and signed for Dortmund. I can't imagine a great talent like him playing for Scousers, would've been painful to watch him play.

£79m asking price is decent for the lad, we should tap him up and splash out on him. He's better than any attacker we have.

Bet he tried to injure them to bring down their value as well.

All for the good cause mate.

Mbappe for me all day long.

What he seems to have over Dembele is attitude. He's like a battle experienced player in a kid's body.

Dembele is undoubtedly talented but so is Mbappe.

But can he compete against 6'1" Perisic from Inter?

We should be all over this like a rash if we have any chance to land this kid. A brilliant talent and one who can actually take our attack up a level.

Dembele should stay another season at Dortmund imo, especially with the Ajax coach coming in. I am a bit surprised that no one speaks about Lemar. Whenever I've seen him for Monaco, I tought he was pure class

I think you misconstrued my post. For 25 mil. last year he was worth a punt. Would I want us to pay 80 mil. now? Probably not. I pretty much agree with your general assessment of where he's at.

Ah, yes I misunderstood. He definitely was a bargain for Dortmund, but there's nothing the club could have done about that. It was all pretty much arranged, despite better offers out there.

He's a very tidy player, good at everything but IMO doesn't excel at anything in particular. Dembele is definitely the higher potential.

Lemar is good but not of the potential of the other two.

Dembele seems very raw still, he should stay at Dortmund.

No doubt, but I think Lemar is a great great player and since Dembele is very unlikely to move or join United, why not go for Lemar instead of Perisic
