I don't think he's foolish enough to come here even if we are actually interested. He plays in a Dortmund team with a brilliant attacking system to get the best of him and he's basically free from most defensive duties so he can be fully focused on the offense which he is brilliant at. He needs to continue his development this way and not become a worse horse in this stage of his career. For what it's worth, i think he'll end up at Barcelona to replace one of their front three.

Jose would play him on the wings and ask him to track back a lot generally and in big games where we get even more defensive, Dembele would end playing as a fullback. His productivity would drop ridiculously and by then it would not take long for some to start questioning his talent or people will start saying he's not a proper winger and he is simply a wide forward or others might even claim he's better through the middle. I just don't see it ending well.

I know i will get stick for this but working under someone like Pep would actually be much better for him though i'd hate to see him end up at at city. I just hope we stay clear though. Perisic would probably be a better fit than him.

Of every winger/wide forward we should go all out for there's only two who I think stand out that should be signed and would improve us greatly and that's Sanchez and Dembele, thing with Sanchez though is will Wenger sell to Jose and the general opinion is Wenger wouldn't agree to it.

I think with Martial, Lingard, Young and Mkhitaryan all either best or very capable of playing left sides forward I think we're ok unless we signed a genuine upgrade like Sanchez so it's the right side we need to drastically improve which Dembele is.

At 20 years he can only improve and even if the likliehood would be eventually he'd leave us for Barca or Real we'd almost certainly not sell at a loss, he could very well be for us what Ronaldo was where he becomes a global footballing superstar and puts fear into the opposition before the game even starts.

He, Morata and Fabinho would complete a window that would take us back up to real PL winners, and grow into a genuine CL threat in a couple of years.

If you guys have an issue going for Mbappe because there were pictures of Cristiano Ronaldo in his room when he was a kid, I'm not sure why you'd want Dembele who has repeatedly said he dreams of playing for Barcelona. He'd be a monster anywhere he goes, his talent is absolute world-class but he's got Barcelona on his mind. I wouldn't mind having him for 3-4 years and then at 24-25 he can be sold for a world-record fee if he keeps his progression going.

Barca will be like the Milan clubs are now in 4 years. If MUFC get him they will have him as long as they want.

Well he is French. They tend to like it over here!

Surely you can't believe that?

Of course. The tide has turned, I'm afraid. Perhaps you're too young to remember when Barca were not all that? They didn't win a European Cup til 1992. Things change. Barcelona are in decline. They'll be back at some point, like AC Milan, etc, but they won't shape the dreams of the next generation of young players. If United are bold, the next 20 years could belong to them

Even before Barca was "all that" they had Kubala, L. Suarez, Kocsis, Cruyff, Maradona, Schuster etc. And they always was the second force in Spanish football and a very attractive place for top players.

Barca are in decline? Yes, if we compare them to Pep's side or to Enrique's treble-winning one... One of which is considered to be among top 3 club sides in history by most and the second wasn't far behind. They have Messi, who is still better than anyone bar Ronaldo at times, they have Neymar growing into his peak form and the abundance of world-class players. And the fact that they are worse than two of the greatest sides at least of 21st century doesn't mean that in a few years they'll be a midtable club

People are obsessed every year with the idea of trading players, as if they are football stickers. How often does this ever actually happen in real life?

Eto'o/Zlatan and Cole/Gallas are the only notable ones I can think of..

Dear me. How impossibly dreary.

What makes you think that?

Unique financial strength in comparison with other European leagues. Stature of the manager-no matter what people think of him- and the most gifted generation of young players since 92. I'll be honest, I thought that was pretty obvious. Maybe not...

Personally all the Real this , Barca, Bayern etc...that they are the end all be all is such short term thinking.

Not long ago we were up there and they had their own issues.

Have something faith and belief and enjoy the ride.

You're a bit delusional, or irrationally optimistic. First of all, Barca have Neymar as Messi's heir, and he will be the best player in the world after Ronaldo and Messi retire bar any crazy progress from some of the world-class potential out there. If they get Ousmane Dembele on top of it (as they've been trying the last year and a half), I don't see Barcelona falling into obscurity anytime soon.

Also, it's tough to hold on to players in England for too long that aren't actually English. How many of the top world-class players have stayed in England their whole careers? The weather, the food, the culture, the press, there are so many factors besides the simple lure of Barcelona/Madrid that a player can slip away. .

Even if Barca somehow miss out champions league at any point in the next 4 years, just like united they will still have the power to attract players. La Liga is so weak outside of the top 3 that the odds are better of them winning the champions league again than missing out. Once they get Suarez off the books, they'll be right back in the mix of things buying the top talent.

Forget Mbappe, Dembele is one player we should sign if we want a no. 7 that can create magic again. If we aren't getting Griezmann, then sign this guy up at any cost.

I don't think they'll ever be as dominant as they or Madrid were recently, but Milan clubs FFS. Consider the disarray most of the teams are they will always be a lubricative destination.

Interesting. I might be tempted to move myself.

while we are writing about current and former ligue 1 talents, there is this one lad i saw last season that impressed me,his name is Ismaila Sarr, his movement, dribbling and pace really impressed me,needs to get better end product but aside from that a really interesting talent,

Can this just get locked? At least until something actually comes up linking us to him...

Would agree if you added a left-back.
(and a right back for when Valencia loses it)

But that said, I don't think Dembele would even entertain the idea of playing for United at this point in time.

Yeah I don't get why transfer threads exist when there are literally no credible links whatsoever. Just pointless.

The thing is he's already good, but he's going to be even better when he irons out a few things. Absolute talent. No wonder everyone wanted him last season.

Dortmund asking £79m should be met with a phone call from Ed! The kid just screams United #7.
