That's rather unfortunate.
It's his dream club everyone knows that, so he will push for the move now that Neymar left. The best thing for Dortmund is to get a lot of money for him, way more than his market value.
I hope he still has his underwear on atleast..According to Kicker and other various media Dembele is currently in Dortmund and streaking. To be continued...
Perhaps but as douche as Neymar is, he at least showed up for training and played. Dembouz given bad advice, either by his agent, mother or Barcelona - shouldn't be going MIA
Seeing how Mkhitaryan left Dortmund I don't think that's likely.
As I've already mentioned Kicker named Lyon's Cornet as a potential target. Jadon Sancho is supposedly also on their list, but I think that business isn't connected to Dembele's future.
BTW: I like how Bartomeu went on about loyalty only a couple of days ago and now has one of his transfer targets on strike in order to force a move.
That does not matter that much since they are going to struggle signing anyone as good to replace him. And unless he has a massive injury his market value would not go down over the next few years.
Yeah, but people know not to feck with RedBull. They get angry at Liverpool they might just buy the whole club and dissolve it in a pool of RedBull.Look at how Red Bull has handled Liverpool's advances for Keita.
I know but you can't really keep a player that is going to be extremely unhappy.
You raise an interesting point. I don't know how Dembele would act if Dortmund decided to not sell him and keep him for another year. I think eventually he'd stop moaning and do his job...But, always wonder do clubs really think players would actually refuse to play or play like crap almost purposely knowing whatever club they are trying to force a transfer to would probably lose interest if they were inactive or were in poor form.
RvP's form went down drastically once SAF went out. He became sad, was not well so many times. But, always wonder do clubs really think players would actually refuse to play or play like crap almost purposely knowing whatever club they are trying to force a transfer to would probably lose interest if they were inactive or were in poor form.
I always wonder how you could prove or punish lack of effort legally. I mean if they let Demebel rot on the bench for four years, he´ll have a hard time coming back from that at age 24. Probably would need a year just to get back up to speed, but obviously you don´t want to pay him full wages for the time. But, always wonder do clubs really think players would actually refuse to play or play like crap almost purposely knowing whatever club they are trying to force a transfer to would probably lose interest if they were inactive or were in poor form.

On the other hand, in the future players might think ''hmm Dortmund won't allow me to make a transfer whenever I want it"...
Dortmund also has shareholders to listen to. If investors push Dortmund to sell Dembele and cash in 130M Euros then that's that. That is what I think would happen too which is why I wonder why clubs cave in so quickly.

Yaya Toure played well below average whenever he was (or his agent was) sad

Not getting transfer is one way of getting upset and unhappy. Maybe after some months, players would be ok. But the player could be disturbed for some months and give half hearted performances.I was especially referring to players upset they did not get the transfer they want. Not players who were just unhappy.

2 of the top young attacking talents in the world may be moving this summer and we are nowhere in the conversation as possible destination for either of them.
To be honest, I doubt that. Barca would just know that if Dembele underperforms it's because he didn't get his transfer. They know that when he eventually does move to Barca he'll be up and firing again. His potential is there to see for everyone. But, they have to know that if they start giving half hearted performances the top clubs would lose interest.

I don't think Barca would worry too much about that at this moment. It's easier to throw a hissy fit at Dortmund than at Barca anyway because Barca is simply so much more bigger and intimidating. But, wouldn't you worry that he would down tools again if things were not going his way at Barca?

Nice. If I'd call the shots in Dortmund I'd tell them 210m and settle for 180, while showing them the door of the offer less.Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA ("BVB") has held a meeting with the catalan football club FC Barcelona about a possible transfer of BVB player Ousmane Dembélé ("player") to FC Barcelona.
In this meeting, the representatives of FC Barcelona have submitted a bid which, however, did not correspond to the player's extraordinary footballing value and status as well as to the current econonomic market situation of the European transfer market. BVB therefore rejected this offer.
As there is no other offer from FC Barcelona to date, a transfer of the player to FC Barcelona is at present not more than likely.

boom, well played L'Equipe..
Players aren't robots, they will have ups and downs depending on their physical and mental form, clubs know that, just look at De Bruyne and Draxler. But they will try to move at the first opportunity.
But, wouldn't you worry that he would down tools again if things were not going his way at Barca?
Barca is where he wants to be.
