OT ticket price hikes for rest of season

The redundancies were widely attributed to them - and followed their usual model - so I have to assume they at least had a part to play in the decision.
I know and I think we have to assume it. It’s ideal for the Glazers though as they can use them as a shield now and we will never fully know.

In the end fan opinion was irrelevant anyway, Jim compromised to give the Glazers what they wanted and got the deal done
100%

Bizarre blame game just for having an opinion, which as you say, wasn't a factor in the outcome.

That's the thing. If, as the club claims, 97% have been sold already anyway and thus it will only affect very few fans wanting to buy a ticket, the financial benefit is negligible, while the damage in terms of fan relations is substantial.
I dont actually believe them that there is only 3% of tickets left though. They are saying that to downplay the decision.

Blame the footballers and their agents guys. We pay this to keep them obscenely rich.

We are nothing but customers. I have said it for years.

I dont mind though when the players are giving it 110% blood sweat and tears every game

They have done it because they can, anyone who has ever tried to get a ticket for a PL game at OT (even as a member) will know about this. Looking at it in pure capitalistic supply and demand lens it's inevitable.

Doesn't make it OK for other reasons, but in terms of money it makes perfect sense for the owners, which seems the path they are taking the club down.

Nah they are not lying, even against mid-bottom table teams they have ballots for tickets.

Seeing the lads battle and fight their hearts out to try and finish top 12 really does make the price increase all worth it.

To put it mildly this is absolutely disgraceful. The club can not get away with it at all. Serious protests are needed.

When I purchased some Bournemouth tickets the other week during one of their "ticket release" days, there were a lot more than 3% of tickets left for that game when I went on - granted they were in the gods, but there was still plenty left.

They were planning on holding more ticket releases throughout the season (Especially for the home games after January) so I would think there would have been more than 3% of the ticket offerings available or else it would be pointless.

I genuinely don't think the club are being truthful here. They are making out that because there aren't many tickets left, it's insignificant that its going to be £66 flat rate as of now. The reality is, the club know damn well that there wont be no shortage of takers (especially tourists) and therefore have seen it as an opportunity to make a little bit more money (probably pay for 2 weeks of Rashford's wages!)

£132 to take you and your child to watch United is depressing. Will price out a generation of young fans.

These tickets they release are those season ticket holders who can't attend or left over tickets in the worst places. Sometimes it will be more sometimes it will be less, but i would say around the 3% is pretty accurate.

There are not enough seats to meet member demand that's why they do these ballots.

There may have been some returns, but there is no way that all those tickets they had for the Bournemouth game were ST returns. Not a chance. There were too many.

Once the ticket release days have finished, often the days leading up to the game tickets will become available - surely these are the ones where ST holders have decided to return the tickets?

Such a shame for the club to impose something like this on the fans at a time where the mood had changed for the positive since Ruben arrived.

I never go to games purely cos of the time and cost, and tbh shit like this takes a sting off the guilt of not going to support the team.

I mean it's been like this even before INEOS took over, i see no reason for them to start lying about it now. It's not just season ticket returns it's also members who bought tickets who return too. 3% of OT capacity is 2,229 seats so in real terms will seem like a lot when you go to buy these left over tickets.

I do agree it is wrong, but football has become a business and United are not immune to that I'm afraid.

I would assume there is little to no chance of a visual protest against the lack of fan regard in the ground on a televised match day?

Probably a fanciful suggestion and even so, the fans would still be there in attendance which gives somewhat of the opposite suggestion.

A better protest would be a half empty ground but we all know that’s impossible.

Exactly.

As a non ST holder I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to take my two lads to a handful of games a season over the past couple of years. It’s been amazing to see them really getting into it, genuinely it’s brought us together, and it’s one of those things we look forward to for weeks.

This price increase, if it stays in place, basically puts the nail in the coffin for that. Gutted tbh.

For me to go with my two kids would be €240 just on tickets -

I went to Brentford game a few weeks ago and it was less than €100 for 3 tickets.

Check the site now. Amazingly thousand of tickets left for tonight and Brighton at home etc all over the ground!

What a coincidence.

There is not enough demand to pull this off outside the obvious games.

The midweek Europa and EL cup games always have tickets available for obvious reasons. It's the PL games i was mainly referring to.

No young kid is going to pay £66 to watch this shite united team. City will be rubbing their hands at this.

You mean pep will be rubbing his face.

It's not a great look for the comparatively small amount of money it will bring in. Presumably it will just be the start of further increases.

Hopefully some of those put off by the higher prices will go and watch a local football league club. The football is shite but you'll be used to that by now...

I haven’t been to a Premier game at OT since 2019 how does the season ticket prices compare with Arsenal, Liverpool and City for example

ST pricing is fine (for now). It's on the cheaper side.

Member ticket prices have jumped up in the last two seasons but still compare well.

It's all about to go tits up. That's caused the worry.

There is a whole lot of tickets available for a lot of remaining PL games all available 66 each. What a coincidence . The club are taking the piss, iv just sent them an email telling them so. Not that it will do anything mind.

Those tickets can not be bought by anyone but annoyingly you know touts and tourists will be all over them

Cool, I'll go with a jar of instant and hand in my notice at work, the savings should pay for a mortgage.
There was a man who had zero money, one day he found a jar of instant coffee and started selling cups of coffee on the street. Today that man is a billionaire and the CEO of Starbucks.

Does it actually show the number of tickets available? That image is just showing areas with ticket availability, it's a reach to then say that shows there's a few thousand seats available.
Also, 3% of OT capacity is quite substantial in real terms, it's equivalent to just over 2k tickets. Plus this is another midweek game where demand is always a lot lower unless we are playing the like of City or Liverpool.

I've also emailed. Said I understand it's not the lads and lasses in the TO's fault but please pass on the fanbases disgust to superiors.

Are we slowly going to see you justify a dynamic pricing model here?

Absolutely not, i hate that i am unable to take my 2 sons to games as our ballot applications get rejected almost every time. But i accept it's part and parcel of supporting the most popular football team in the country where there are thousands of other people just like me trying to get tickets. I've just signed in and had a look at that Southampton game and there are no ticket's available where i can buy 3 together apart for the some of the worst parts of the stadium, which means i would have to by 3 single tickets and have myself and my boys sitting in different parts of the stadium to make the ticket price worth it.

I certainly don't benefit from this price hike, I'm just pushing back on the idea that there are thousands of unsold tickets which the club are manipulating - they simply do not need to do that and this is going by years of experience trying to buy tickets. They could increase the price beyond the £66 and the tickets would still sell out.

They are manipulating tickets that are sold back to them.

My mate goes to Thailand for a month in Jan. He will sell back the four home games, his ST price is £33 a ticket.

Utd can now re-sell that ticket at £66.

All your other points are fairly true, just think we are skirting around the point here and makes it sounds like lite excuse making on their behalf.

Got take into account the fact that most fans are travelling from all over the country too, and that isn't getting any cheaper.

A ridiculous price hike like this is just going to turn these people away.

looking forward to going to old trafford to witness the sea of barbour jackets and flat caps. it’ll be the twickenham of the north.
