Trainwreck.
Too harsh! He's so bad even Michael Owen would be too embarrassed to celebrate scoring past him.
Pity he’s not good with the important part.Played well second half and even first half played one or two excellent passes. He's not good at stopping the ball going in the net though.
If he wasnt good villa would have won the game by 5-3. Made some excellent saves and his passing was goodPlayed well second half and even first half played one or two excellent passes. He's not good at stopping the ball going in the net though.

One is all you need. Like a cock push up.He made one decent save.

damn..One is all you need. Like a cock push up.
I think it's called goalkeeping.Played well second half and even first half played one or two excellent passes. He's not good at stopping the ball going in the net though.
Our GK scouts reading this: aaahhhhh! We knew we done goofed up.I think it's called goalkeeping.
Maybe, but he was slow to react, unfortunately. He was extremely well protected second half. Not sure today was on him. Defenders should be heading the ball out for the first goal and closing down the player on the second.
No first goal he doesnt move. Villa targeted him. If that was DDG he would have been slated on here. He doesnt command his box, a key failing with DDG we were meant to be addressingNot sure today was on him. Defenders should be heading the ball out for the first goal and closing down the player on the second.
I'm sorry but he didn't make a single excellent save. This nonsense gets trotted out every time he makes a couple of standard saves to defend the guy.If he wasnt good villa would have won the game by 5-3. Made some excellent saves and his passing was good
I don’t think you’re going to get you job back, Dave.I'm sorry but he didn't make a single excellent save. This nonsense gets trotted out every time he makes a couple of standard saves to defend the guy.
He made a couple of standard saves you'd expect any Premier league level goalkeeper to make. One of those standard saves he done his usual displaying absolutely zero control over where a rebound goes; with it looping up in the air right back in the danger zone and luckily to where one of our players was.
He's a liability. First goal just displays his terrible technique once again, not anticipating the ball coming through the crowd and just got caught with his pants down. Starting every game with a 50% chance your keeper will chuck at least one in really isn't a good base for a solid team. For me a couple of pinged long balls doesn't make up for that.
He's a goalkeeper. His main function is to stop the opposition from scoring. He's not very good at that so far. His qualities with the ball at his feet are negated by his almost comical handling and positioning as a goalkeeper. A keeper that's good with the ball at his feet is a game changer provided he's at least average at the core competencies of the goalkeeping craft.Feel pretty confident that this thread will age very poorly.
Onana’s instrumental for playing out 11 vs 10 from the back and is better than nearly all of our outfielders right now at playing under heavy pressure. There were several times tonight when Onana did his job perfectly at committing Watkins, before cutting out one or two further Villa players with his pass, yet Evans or Mainoo fumbled quickly progressing the ball further with their next pass. Onana is gonna be a big part of this team reaching their ceiling once better players are more regularly playing with him.
He’s making a lot of goalkeeping errors, yet his saving data across the season isn’t terrible even when you take those into account.
Of all ETH’s signings, I feel more confident about Onana’s next ten years than anyone else’s, whether here or elsewhere.
The main Onana problem is that the whole team is effected whenever he gets the ball as he's a disaster waiting to occur.
It rubs on to the players and the whole stadium.
Yep, he’s at an age (& price) where he should be entering his prime - not requiring coaching on some big deficiencies. Hoping he comes right but losing more and more faith by the game.I won’t write him off yet but he needs a lot of coaching on shot stopping which is a bit of a problem considering the money we paid for him.
