You usually find in these kinds of scandals, it’s very few people who are actually in the know, that’s how you keep a scandal quiet.
Everyone else is given budgets and roles, and just get on with it with the role they’re asked to work within.
Why?
Even if he didn't know where the money was coming from, he had it to spend.
Would he have got the players he did without a bottomless pot of money and City still languishing in League 3?
Take off those rose tinted glasses, his hands are tied by the parasites in Florida, parasites who promise the earth and deliver nothing except more debt.
He could be out of the loop, the people that are definitely involved are generally the CEO, CFO, treasurer and chief accountant.
it's pretty funny. I guess when you can't legitimately claim innocence, settling for "if we go down, we take Uniteds new CEO with us" is the next best thing
Going by bluemoon they are very unhappy. Seem to think he's done a very good job up until now and was in line to take over as the main man in the future.

I have supported this club with an MD who sold dodgy meat to schools, who had a rugby loving son, through relegation, being a PLC, season ticket holder, shareholder, and now being owned by parasites, that, like you gives me the right to express my opinion without being told to "go and support FCUM"
Why would I change my allegiance to FCUM because a minor shareholder has decided to appoint a former employee of a club with 115 charges around it's neck for cheating, a club which he helped get to where it is. Lets see if he can do it without the dodgy deals and bottomless pit of money?

I agree that Murtough is probably gone (no matter the CEO tbh) but what makes you say that this confirms he's gone other than "Omar good, Murtough bad"?

Great, then you’ll know that you get a budget and a remit. You have absolutely no idea where the money is coming from and you’ll know that your bosses always tell you everything is legit, even when it isn’t. In that position it’s not your job to ask questions. You do your job to the best of your ability and then you go home, and that’s how you keep your job.
Not sure why it’s so hard to believe. The more people know a secret, the harder it is to keep it under wraps. Considering no one from City has ever spilled the beans suggest only the very top brass know anything about wrongdoing. Probably just the owner.
My brother is pretty disappointed so that's promising.

Then do it on cheat mode and compare.
Hard to say if individuals below the senior executives knew what was going, watched a guy on Sky the other day, he implied that the owners could be forced to sell, but he didn't actually say it.
what is hard to believe is how anyone could know either way
the only people who can say for certain are the people that did it, and obviously they are not admitting to that
It's exciting but I have slight concerns about the investigation into Manchester City and if this individual will be impacted. I fear we could walk into a similar situation as Tottenham did last year.
Honestly City getting into any amount of trouble with this is worth sacrificing a CEO for. Otherwise we have insider info into 115 charges and we can use the same business model.

I don’t know, no one on here does. But if I had to guess (given what’s alleged and the sheer size of it), I’d say it was a very small group of people, maybe the CFO and CEO.
The COO could be told “here’s our revenue, here’s our budget” and would understandably go “ok, fine I’ll work with that”.
Again, I don’t KNOW, it just seems possible from my financial career/understanding of businesses.
The flip side is he was COO of the group not just City, that should’ve brought him into a narrower upper echelon.
