The whole losing to Watford thing is funny. It's Watford FFS. Even despite our shit form I expect to beat them. It's a non factor of a game in this discussion for me.

What abuse is Cole talking about? Having someone NOT doing a good job, being laid millions and keeling his job no matter what does deserve flack. He is not up to par and ex players should not defend him, fans are fed up and things like this wi increase the "abuse" more.

What can I say. If only SAF got his men (Batistuta or Shearer). He would probably had at least 3 CLs under his name.

Ah yes, it's only Watford. The same Watford who have the same amount of points as Villa,, who came away with a win at Old Trafford, and shortly thereafter sacked their manager

If he somehow flukes top 4 he will be here next season aswell.
Don't think that's going to happen, there;s too much quality in the PL right now for anyone to fluke to anything substantial.

Pep Klopp and Tuchel will be fighting for the league. Conte, Moyes, Rogers, Arteta and Ole are going to be in a fight for the remaining CL spot, and at the moment, two of them are above us (Arteta and Moyes), Conte is a proven winner and Rogers can make that team play football. It'll be a miracle if we finish top 4 this season. I just fear that by the time we sack him, this season, a season we were supposed to be putting up a title challenge, is going to be a write off, especially because the best available manager to replace Ole is now at Spurs. It's a mess and no one is going to claim responsibility for it, let alone face the consequences for such a massive failure.

Christ, imagine if he won the EL, he'd probably get a contract for life. Meanwhile you have Chelsea, who sacked di Matteo 8 months after winning the CL because they knew he wasn't the right manager for them. Never thought I'd be jealous of chelsea's board but here we are!

Somebody's not been paying attention to this season.
We can get beaten by anyone on the day. But making it out to be this whole make or break game is silly. Not winning would be a pathetic result. Winning should be an expectation.

Haven't watched us play this season? Its only Watford. It was only Young boys too, it was only Villa, Everton.

We've been outplayed by all of them all season, we might get a lucky result.

How do people find the energy to wake up every single morning and be so angry that he's still in charge?

It became clear last Tuesday that he wasn't going anywhere until at least after the Watford game. Just try to forget about it until the game..

Don't get me started on Goldbridge either. He basically saw AFTV and copied their formula, albeit less sweary.

Any of them as bad as (paraphrasing) ‘instructor of physical exercise’? Yep… thought not.

Seriously though seems a bit harsh on such people in this profession. What did they ever do to deserve their job being so derogatorily framed its mere mention gets censored? Wonder if any posters here are employed in ‘the role that daren’t be named’ and discovering your day job is deemed more despicable than the most pathetic creature in Lord of the Rings? I get it’s obviously a hyperbolic slur on Ole, but like ‘fridgehead’ for Maguire’s all fine and everything… Does seem questionable.
Both mine and Flytans posts above quoted have been removed. This is getting all very strange.

Gives ammunition for people to celebrate expected results. We can't be afford to judge and be judged according to Ole's poor standards.

Shouldn’t run the club based on the fan’s opinions on things though.

Depends on how clueless the board of a club is though…

Man Utd’s board is surreally inept regarding football matters. Books will be written about how bad their decisions have been.

They make decisions that are obviously and hilariously bad from the moment they are announced

The fanbase is clearly far superior in their football knowledge to those making decisions at Man Utd.

The only thing us beating Watford will do is give Ole an extra few months, which it will.

There is absolutely no way that Ole is capable of winning a top level trophy.
He can win a national trophy in Norway....but anything above that, is beyond Ole, I'm afraid.

That my friend is referred to as apathy.
"just go along with it". And before you know it, you've hired managers like Moyes and Ole who have no history of winning anything.

It's pretty odd. Are people really still expecting something to change this week? Same posters just repeating the same stuff over again.

It's not just the fan's opinion though. Most know he's not good enough but our incompetent board loves their own kind.
Its not just fan opinion. Jesus
It’s not just opinion. It’s evidence and factual information.

The quoted message I was referring to specifically mentioned being disconnected from the “fanbase”. Therefore implying that the board should be making decisions on what the fanbase feels or thinks (regardless of whether or not what they feel at a particular moment in time on a particular subject) is factual or not, is a dangerous game to play.

If the board and subsequently the manager ran the club based on fan opinions, we’d be out of the UCL by now.

Why are some of you even bothering to answer to wind ups by top Reds is beyond my understanding. I thought every man and his dog knew who these guys are by this time.

Unlike yourself and some others, we still hold United to higher standards and expect/demand a lot more.

Perhaps it's time the board and manager started listening to the fans since we haven't made it past the QF stage of the CL in over a decade.

I’m surprised Luis Enrique is held in such a high esteem here but to be fair I am not an expert on Spanish football so I’ve seen quite little of his league Barça games. Hoping it’s ten Hag as soon as possible.

Has any other manager ever been 3 games away from being sacked for so long....they should make it his official title...3 games from a sacking (but not the last 3 games) man.

I remember when we were strongly liked with kante. Compete no brainer and wouldve saved years of agnosing over our limited midfield.

I think Ten Hag is a pipedream unfortunately. He doesn't seem in a rush to leave Ajax, has turned down better offers etc. Not only that, but there's something that makes me feel like he wouldn't suit us either. Just a weird hunch. If we got him I'd be excited to see what he could do, but I don't know if he's got that aura/authority about him to translate well. I feel like he'd do better at a club like Bayern where he's surrounded by footballing people and has a lot of support throughout all levels of the club, that will buy into his vision.

What pisses me off is that Cole was never a WC player. SAF knew that which is why he was like United's 4th choice. What made Cole the player we know is thanks to SAF and the coaching team who transformed him from a goal poacher to a more rounded player. They did the same with the entire squad including with Ole. Thus its hypocritical for someone like Cole to underestimate top quality coaching and management cause if it wasn't for that he'd be remembered as the Arsenal reject with no trophies and who could only score goals with Newcastle.
