1. You can literally calculate where we'd be without his goals this season
2. I'm a United fan not an Ole fan, it appears what Ronaldo is rumoured to want - "Ole OUT" is what's best for the club right now.
3. Rooney kicked up a fuss to go to City, Keane kicked up a fuss to get paid more, but let's just ignore all that.

Sir Alex has never said a bad word about Ronaldo and somehow I think he knows a little more about the goings on back then than you do.
Can you calculate where we'd be if he wasn't here ?

Annnnd there's your assumption. Just because somebody scored a winner doesn't prove we wouldn't have won if he didn't play.

2. Ronaldo is not rumoured to want Ole Out, he's rumoured to want out if we don't get UCL. As usual with Ronaldo it's not about MUFC it's about Ronaldo.
3. Yes and they all get stick for it, in fact, they still get stick for it. Everyone hates Pogba for wanting out but no ones said aww he has standards. Pogba unlike Ronaldo spent the prime of his career here.

Seems all quiet If I am honest on the Ole front. it seems he will be in charge till the end of the season regardless of where we finish.

Yet another season wasted, more talent wasted.

As a sentimental swan song and a money making replica shirt bonanza, its understandable the appeal of Ronaldo‘s return. As a football decision, it makes no sense at all.
It was partly to stop City signing one of our legends and winning Ch Lge and/or Prem which would have made made us an even bigger laughing stock. Ronaldo would have died in the eyes of Utd supporters if that had have happened as well.

1. By that logic, there's no reason to credit Ole for the 99 winner, someone else could have scored if he wasn't subbed on.
2. The only reason why this squad is in any danger of not making the CL is due to the inept manager we currently have.
3. Your original quote: "Ronaldo's the only player to ever play for United that can kick up a fuss and still be loved", are Rooney & Keane not loved?

Ronaldo, unlike Pogba, helped the club win many major trophies.

I don't think it seems like that at all though? I get the frustrations, but I don't get this bollocks idea that if he isn't sacked during this international break he will last till the summer. He won't, we're too shit for that to happen. It goes against everything for him to keep us playing this poorly and see out the season.

I think the problem is finding an available alternative, who would be willing to take over mid-season.
Could be true that but it's a clusterfeck. Let’s say the team suddenly get a few results, which it is prone to do randomly, and the 'ideal' manager appears on the horizon..

Or maybe it's actually good that we're waiting this time and doing thorough research (if it's that)..

At this point it's not even 'angry' phase, just hopeless.

If getting played off the pitch by City & Liverpool within 2 weeks wasn't enough to get him sacked, not much will.

Watford is Watford, Ronaldo will probably get another late goal to get us into the CL knockout stage somehow against Villarreal, then getting trashed by Chelsea is kind of expected anyway. On and on we go.

But the more we fall down the table and top 4 gets further away, and the players start to kick off more, he'll be gone. We won't continue being this shit and him remaining in charge for the rest of the season, that is so so long away.

I think there is not enough real pressure from the fans to change him. Otherwise they will stick with him until it is not possible to get the CL spots. They should get this Ralf chap was an interim manager and get Ten Hag as the permanent manager.

1. Yes but you're claiming we would be in free fall without Ronaldo and there's no proof of that.
I'm not claiming we wouldn't have won the UCL without Ole.
2. I agree, I'm not anti - Ronaldo, I still think he's a good signing regardless of a lot of people saying he sets us back tactically however, I do think that he showed Ole's deficiencies as Ole is struggling to keep the balance of the 11 fitting him in. It is the fault of Ole not fitting him in though, but if he does want to leave because we don't get UCL I won't be losing any sleep.
3. True, I take that back, however, I can still give him shit when stories like this come out as it doesn't exactly help things.

I really thought it would have been announced today. I believed he had been told to go to Norway and it would be announced today. The fact that it hasnt means Ole has the balls to just go on vacation in the midst of a crisis.

Board are probably looking at it as a couple of isolated games and burying their head in the sands hoping it all blows over, however the reality is beaten by Villa, smashed by Leicester and Liverpool and dominated by City. The formation changes like the wind.

We have a squad that should have been challenging at the top, at the moment he's making it seem like Top 4 is a dream.

The longer this drags on, the harder it would be to make top 4.

But at the end they stayed here, right? Ronaldo left. After he said that he is a slave etc etc....

Lets not put Ronaldo and Roy/Wayne in same sentence. Roy and Wayne are among our biggest legends ever and Ronaldo is our biggest merc ever.

1. Ok I don't have proof of that, but it's a very logical conclusion based on the number of crucial goals he's scored so far.
2. Fair enough.
3. Of course, but I just think more storied like that, more pressure on the board to sack Ole as soon as possible is a good thing.

I thought the owners were supposed to be business savvy. So they're really gonna wait till UCL qualification is out of the picture before making a change. At that stage was the freakin point ? The reason to change now is to save the season and the millions of dollars UTD will loose if they fail to make UCL next season. Whatever the payout is for Ole and his staff, I guarantee is far less than the losses that will come from missing UCL football. And whatever losses will come, we know will be taken out of the transfer budget. And if there's no UCL, CR7 might leave, Cavani will unliklely resign and we know Pogba is a goner. So you will need to bring a striker, a CDM, Pogba replacement and a right back with reduced funds. Good luck with that.

He never said the slave quote you guys seem to attribute to him, Blatter was the one who said it.

Like I said, none of us know what was agreed behind the scenes back then, judging by how Sir Alex has spoken about him all these years, it's pretty clear what the great man thinks about Ronaldo.

and the fact he’s one of the greatest players of all time and still is.

Yeah just shows how utterly clueless this board is doesn't it

Don't worry about the players coming in. It is why Darren Fletcher is there to sell the clubs to potential players whom they want.

Its good to do thorough research for the permanent manager but we CANNOT continue with Ole until the end of the season, it can get so much worse than this, trust me. Out at the CL group stages and a 7th/8th place finish.

Hoping for anything groundbreaking from that Whitwell interview isn't wise, if he had anything massive to say he'd have already said it on twitter/the athletic.

Yeah going to be 'We're sticking with Ole' but he's under pressure'.

We basically need a draw in Spain to make the KO stage, Ronaldo's probably manage that.

Agree with the 7/8th placed finish though.

Going out in the CL group stages again will probably be enough to do it.

Yeah it will all be awful stuff involving fecking blind faith in Ole ands this daft Sancho at RWB shite as well

TBF I think most people were expecting a title challenge despite, not because of, Ole's ability. Like most probably would expect a title challenge with this squad with virtually any other manager in the EPL. They only expected some competence.
Dos not sound very realistic.

I think you are wrong. “Real pressure” is shadowed by reactionary and poor rhetoric. People are ganging up expressing their hate and anger, without much substance. The real world don’t take that serious. The club knows what Ole has done for them in line of “a reset”. People going on about his legacy and undermining that job is what we call counter productive. People need to realise that wanting a change is not the same as ganging up and thinking they have a voice, when they clearly don’t. I fecking hope he puts this right to teach a few of you a lesson in humility and respect.

Their dad was business savvy. There is no evidence that the Glazer sprogs have any idea what they are doing (and plenty of evidence to the contrary).

Hes not going to waste one of his final years in the game playing in the Europa League.

Yeah should ask to leave IF we don't make knockout stages then maybe these yankee cowards will sit up and take notice

As much as we love Ole the player, he and his coaching staff have failed miserably to either produce a cohesive team or improve players. He needs to go before the transfer window.
City looked way fitter and far more organised than we ever are. We have too many players who dont track back - and we all know the culprits. I'd like to see VD Beke and Lingard given a start.

He needs to go before Watford but WON'T

I hope so too, just can't see it happening.

Did you watch the last 10 games we played?

Ronaldo won 3 leagues, the European Cup, the FA Cup and league Cup with us and contributed massively while he was here.
Pogba stinks the place out most of the time.

Maybe. Although we should also possibly do what is better for the football club.

Agreed. In this case he is the manager of the club and from the club's perspective it would be better for him to stay out of the limelight for a bit. Else they would not have allowed him his time off.

So the club is doing exactly what's better for the club at this point. Other than sacking him, this is the best the club can do at this point.

Listening to the stream now. Whitwell just said the reason for Glazers not sacking is likely 1) Ole Brought stability by qualifying back to back for CL, 2) Ole termination will cost money and 3) Ole has a bond with the Glazers and they like him. So they hope he can turn it around.
