Wait, but wasn't Ole saying after Liverpool game that they are going to work hard in the international break to find solutions? It is getting ridiculous now.

Well, they worked hard after the Liverpool game, it didn't work, so they are now trying the opposite - not work at all.

Which kind of symbolizes the way he tries to make changes to our football.

I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation to this week off. He must have seen Fergie do that once in his 26 years, or something.

I have a geeling they will do this why on earth would you sack the manager who himself has said he doesn't do the coaching of the players and keep the people who coach on! They need to get rid of them all and get an interim in and his coaching staff to get the season going.

To be fair about the situation, if we're going interim, the coaches will have to stay. No coach is going to leave the club their at for 6 months, only to get moved on when the actual permenant manager comes in and brings his own staff with him. It's not ideal hiring an interim, but I'd still prefer it than rushing to appoint a permant manager now that we don't feel is quite right. Doesn't mean that interim has to be Fletcher or the like though, would be better to get one in that enjoys coaching and can hopefully teach our lot a thing or 2.

The expectations and reasons were completely different. It's easy to replace a toxic manager when the goal isn't to perform at a high level but to get rid of a nuisance. This Ole situation is in some way worse because this team goal is to be a top team in the short term and finding someone that can do that is not easy and it's even less easy if you are looking at the caretaker pool.

One option that would be fairly common is to look at the top you coach within our system, I think that it is Neil Wood. I know nothing about him but it is possible to have him as the interim manager until the end of the season.
Not sure I'd be so keen on Wood, of all the youth coaches we've had here over the last couple of season, McKenna's looked the best of the lot, his team was set up very well and played some excellent football. Although he definitely looks like a bit of an unpopular candidate with the fanbase at the moment.

I get what you're saying about not shifting all the staff for only 6 months, but aren't we in this mess beacuse people are learning on the job? I don't that at all for the next interim I just want someone to come in and start coaching the players on tactics and get them playing good football again. Also to give players a chance to actually play in a game the likes of VDB, Telles, Martial, Snacho etc.

Man Utd have been getting slatted during the whole Cop-26 for flying To Leicester before a game!!!! can’t see Ed wanting activists turning up at his door And banging on about the clubs carbon footprint, Think it fair to say it’s a one way ticket lads he is gone.....

Ideally you want someone from the outside but it's not that easy if you only want a caretaker and since people are convinced that Ole needs to leave at all costs someone like Wood is going to be on the list of easy appointments. Personally I think that the best remaining option is a depreciated manager like Favre or Blanc with contracts until July 2023.

Yeah he did you're right. He likes meaningless soundbites though so could just be that but if he said that knowing he was off on his holidays then that speaks volumes.

I think he's getting sacked today personally but we'll see.

What Fvcking next. Extend all their contracts with a huge rise also. They should be doing extra training not holidaying. Really hope there is a reason for this.

They are maybe trying everything. They tried to have an open dialogue among the squad after the 5-0 thumping, they had a nice dinner out after Atalanta to team build. They might as well now try and have a week off (?).

Maybe Ed can take them to Euro Disney during the next break in schedule.

What is a disgrace about the tweet hes replying to? Asking if Ole would get the Norwich job is abuse now?

I do really feel for Ole at this stage. He genuinely loves the club and wants this to work. I know the usual response will be well if he really loves the club he should step aside. Maybe he will, maybe he wont, but that decision should not be up to him.

I have no ill feeling towards Ole (or the coaching staff) - they have been put into this situation by our inept and incompetent board, who as we've seen since Fergie retired have no actual clue on how to run a successful football club. All this vitriol, this anger, this frustration, should be directed at the board and in particular Woodward. During his tenure he has made bad decisions upon bad decisions, to the point where we are actually condemning a manchester united legend in Ole. It makes me sick. And now I read that bastard woody wants to stay on as a consultant? Get the feck out of this club!

I’d have to agree, as much as it pains me when it’s this guy. Thinking the manager is not the right person is one thing, Wanting the manager gone is another but to get personal, to name call and to show a total lack of respect is just classless. It’s the fans making this situation toxic, Ole is just doing his job until it isn’t his job anymore.,

Loyalty always above what is best for the club

Interestingly this tweet should confirm that Neville doesn't give a damn about United, he can pretend all he wants but he lost all credibility in my eyes.

So the performances have been poor, we have 2 weeks international break and our manager decides to take a week holiday... GREAT.

This should be the time to coach players, considering the amount that have not gone to International duty. Sancho, VDB, Pogba, Shaw, Greenwood and others.

He should be working to try and turn it around, instead of throwing the towel and still hoping to be in charge.

He does care about United.

But it's clearly friend & contacts 》being honest for the benefit of the club and being professional in the job he's paid for

Good one :D

Neville is just making a right arse of himself. I get he really wants to be loyal to Ole, but he should just keep quiet when possible. Okay on TV he has an obligation to comment and come out with some twisted logic, but there's no need to keep the charade up on Twitter.

Just by contrast, the Juventus response to a poor run of form is to send players and staff to an intense training camp for a week rather than letting them go on holiday

Strange. Don't they realize what the manager and players could be learning while sat on a beach sipping beer?

I think you identify the manager you want in thE summer.

Then hire a caretaker who is best qualified and is similar in set-up and tactics.

Prepare the players for what's to come.

I do agree about Woody and the board, But although I love Ole for what he done ON the field, I must say he has made some bad mistakes off it.
It's time to go Ole, but you will never be forgotten as a player.

I don't agree with this and I know it's all about this emotional narrative people have going on, but he has never said any manager at any club should be sacked. I know everyone wants their soundbites but to come out with "Neville doesn't give a damn about United" because he won't come out and say the manager should be sacked is plainly ridiculous - in 10 years at Sky he's never said any manager should be sacked so why do people now expect different from him and pretend it's because Ole's an ex-teammate?

Were they missing the majority of their squad for the intense training camp?

Although I agree with Fjørtofts words here, he definitely chose the wrong tweet to reply to. Nothing abusing in it at all.

Maybe the official Twitter is waiting for someone to say announce Oles resignation so they can respond :wenger:
