Would Ole have gotten the job in the first place if he was not an ex-player?

Not a chance in hell he would have. His name would have been an unknown as a manager possibility. Like in any other hypothetical would United be hiring a former Cardiff, current Molde manager requesting him jump multiple levels of competition with limited experience.

I hope the board are planning something for the summer at the latest, no matter what happens. I can appreciate sometimes it takes time to find the right manager and sacking Ole without a plan is a terrible idea, but really, it's time for a change.

Knowing the board they’ll use the international break to let things cool off before giving him another 3 games to prove himself and the cycle continues.

Bang on. These ambitionless idiots.

If you have 120 mill to spend on players to rot on the bench you should have the cash to pay out Ten Haag and the whole backroom staff.

Just give it to Nicky Butt or Carrick.

Anyone as interim and line up someone for summer.

Mental post. The absolute drivel that some people come up with to defend the guy who is literally destroying the reputation of the club you claim to love. Sickening!!!

Sickening!!!

Couldn't agree more with Lingards brother. Look at Ole in press conferences, on the sidelines etc. He inspires no confidence and looks like a dead man walking.

Was there this much debate, defending and outrage about Nuno losing his job? Seems forgotten about now.

Surely Ole is only protecting his pay off money now?!
Possibly can’t believe himself that he hasn’t been sacked!

I sit in the stretford end at old Trafford and I don’t know if it was heard or publicised but Ole was boo’d down the tunnel by quite a lot of fans at full time. I think this was a huge moment that could see the board look to make a change sooner rather than later

It only took Ole 1 week to "moved on" from Liverpool defeat.

This is nothing, 2-0 defeat by City at OT is acceptable nowadays.

Yes I'm definitely starting to hate watching, reading and hearing anything that comes out from his mouth. I'm so fecking sick of all this.

I liked him a lot. Now, more he stays and talk bullsh*t and more it’s easy to turn on him. It’s very sad actually. By not sacking him, the cowards at the board are domaging his image and legacy to United fans.

The crazy thing is how it was made all about the Liverpool result and not including the other half dozen games before that as well. It is reported like a couple of bad defeats.

Nuno was about 17th choice so wasn't even wanted in the first place and never showed any signs of being the right man for Spurs. Judging by the lack of effort against us, he'd probably lost the dressing room as well.

Surely there aren’t still 1 in 6 United fans who thinks he needs to be given more time?

This game wasn’t lost on the pitch today. It was lost in the boardroom immediately after the Liverpool debacle. A serial championship winner in Antonio Conte was unemployed and the only viable candidate to really take Utd forward. Instead, Utd were out manoueverd by Daniel Levy who knew if he didn’t strike first, even Utd would inevitably have to act and put Ole out of his misery. It’s not Ole’s fault. Hes not equipped to handle a top team and Pep just reinforced that today. The worry for Utd is that there really isn’t a plan B now.

Nobody should expect Ole to resign during an interview on tv. That doesn’t happen. He will trot out whatever lines will get him through these things.

He absolutely is not stupid. He absolutely does not believe there is no pressure or jeopardy. The run we are on is appalling. And there’s no way he thinks, after three years of rebuilding, that the board is not getting jumpier with every bad result. He knows he is on the edge of the edge now.

He knows the form and results are indefensible and he may even resign but nobody will hear about that except from the club, after it has happened.

After defending Ole for so long, I now cannot wait until he goes. Fresh start is the only way forward, I think.
