He'd be a club legend at any club he'd have gone to under any manager through his sheer force of will.

Maybe but not to the degree he was at United which is my point. Most of them were great players but SAF elevated them way beyond that.

At any other club during that period, they would be still 2nd to United's Fergie.

Neville said Souness went through the same kind of situation at Liverpool when he managed them, Souness pointed out he was there less time than Ole and won an FA Cup.

Surely that was his last game, right? International break now. We easily have one of the best 7 squads in world football but have a manager in charge who wouldn't get another job at literally any club in one of the big leagues. What the feck are they playing at?

They don't tackle. Our central midfielders have managed 37 tackles this season from a possible 81. That's a 46% success rate. That's the lowest in the league, Wolves on 48% and Southampton on 54%, the league average being 60%. Pogba for example has a 20% success rate.

It's a team wide problem though, we have the lowest total number of successful tackles (121) and the lowest success rate (56%). It's not even like therefore that the rest of the team make up for our midfields imcompetence. It's across the board. You could argue it's tactical, but then I read an article a week or so back showing how awful our midfield passing stats are too. So they don't pass and they can't tackle. Honestly, feck knows what they do. McTominays good at heading the ball and Fred runs around a lot.

Keane absolutely losing the head and saying Ole was better off out gets the caf up in arms. Nobody mentions Hansen saying the Glazer's did nothing wrong. Very odd.

Do the right thing and use the International break to get him out.

When you realize that City didn't even make a single sub today.

We're so embarrassing.

Looking from different angle, why would Ole resign and lose millions of dollars. He will never be so lucky in his lifetime again.

It's not his problem that Glazers and Ed are so incompetent.

Nah, Conte is a psycho and it's good we missed out on him otherwise we would've embarrassed ourselves...

:nervous:
Yeah, the board didn't want to be held accountable for being rubbish by the manager again.

I think you can have supported Ole for much of his tenure but recognise the tide turned this season and now want him out. People who are against a manager from the start will almost always eventually be proved correct because managers, by nature, tend to have a short half life. That’s just the modern game. I am firmly Ole out at this point and have been for some weeks but it would be folly not to recognise that he turned the club around after the Mourinho debacle. Best consecutive back to back finishes since SAF.

He changed and improved the culture but once that was complete he doesn’t have the nouse to take it further and now he’s just overstaying his welcome and being found out for not having any systems of play.

It’s situational leadership 101.
Exactly my feelings too. Add to that the idea that any United fans would dream of one of their legends managing the team to trophies, and it's easy to understand why some are so reluctant to let go of that that dream. But enough's enough. No need to hate him. He did a good job in righting the ship when he came in but now we're leaking a shit ton of water. It's clear he's nowhere near good enough and has to go. Only question is when they're gonna pull the trigger.

After some thought I actually think he would. 343 and most big players would be playing in their best roles.

Doesnt matter now though

You may be right too. We certainly need a big personality like him, and there's not many around. None that I can think of.

The Ole cult was by far the worst cult of any manager who has managed us post Fergie. At one point they made this forum unbearable. They'll bully anyone who dares to be negative and surround him with personal insults and attacking every post. I was bullied once by them and several other posters as well.

They ruined this forum for some time, thinking of themselves as the best supporters and the role model for everyone else to follow.
100% man. They mocked and looked down on many posters while being a collection of the most toxic people on the site. No doubt that fact never dawned on any of them though.

Mctominay is too old to be "learning his trade". He's better than what we've seen this season, but he's not levels better than this and never will be.

The comparisons to Fletcher are outright disrespectful to Fletch. He was already one of the best midfielders around at the age McT currently us.

Can’t believe we did not get Conte.
Yeah, some people saying he isn’t the right guy, like we know who is the right guy. He was the only one to no throw the season away in October. But here we are with another season wasted early on.
