I'm sure all is forgiven for some. This win changes nothing, if anything it reinforces the need for a better manager, this is a good squad.

This would be a fine send off for Ole, but no. We'll wait for another humiliation before doing the right thing.

Same as Lampard who was sacked after winning a game 3-0, they should let Ole go before getting humiliated again.

I'm very happy with win today, and would never want us to lose a game of football no matter what.

that being said, I still think Ole isn't good enough to lead this squad.

This win changes quite alot actually. It will calm the storm that's been around the manager and the players after the l'pool match. If we get a result against Atalanta and City too, things will look way brighter again. And dont forget, Solskjær has pretty good stats against Pep and City 8)

This feels like a point of no return though. He didn't batten down the hatches after conceding 4 to Leicester and then we let in 5. Both of those games we could've conceded more. It's abject.
There you go. Battled down the hatches. Not ever has there been a manager who constantly produces results when under such intense pressure. We’ll play the same way vs Atalanta and City and it might just work because both like to get men forward.

There are people on this forum changing their vote to ole in after beating an awful spurs. Short memories indeed  :wenger:

Spurs was bad and naive. They were attacking us and play into our hand with our 532 system.

Against park the bus team 532 may not work and most likely we will get boring draws.

Bad day for the Ole out peeps today. And Liverpool fans are celebrating. Looks like the slippery Norwegian has evaded the knockout punch again. He’s seriously like Floyd Mayweather when it comes to dodging the sack

Objectively this United team finishing a minimum of second is the lowest requirement for things looking brighter. The manager said at the start of the season this is the expectation to challenge for the league. Standards cannot drop because of some woeful performances to begin the campaign. This is a squad Klopp / Guardiola are winning the league with. Ole must win competitions this season, that is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Say we got Conte in, he would have come in, switched to 5-3-2, beaten Spurs and been lauded for it. Ole is still too limited as a coach and needs to be replaced, but he did what was needed tonight. Hopefully everyone supports him and the team while he's still here.

Oleout still.

I'll only change my mind if he wins 15 games out of the next 15 and becomes a ruthless bastard and we all know that's not going to happen

We need a better manager

He lives to fight another day, lets see how we go.
I do think he has to go but I will give give credit when it is due.
He still in negative equity though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him get the season though... :nervous:

It really doesn't. He was never getting sacked no matter the result this week, City game will the be telling. The board will give him all the time he wants and he needs.

Boom bust cycle

Will make it a very difficult decision if we let him stay on and then we win the next 2 though.

If a 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool didn't do it, it'll take something big to do it now. A couple of consecutive defeats etc.

I think a bad defeat against City could do it even if we do beat Atalanta. I don’t think we should be gauging anything from beating a terrible Spurs side and a game against Atalanta who we should really be beating anyway. It’s our rivals like Liverpool and City who we will be judged against so if we can’t compete with them then what’s the point?

Yeah, let's keep giving him more time, it's not like there is a ton of evidence to suggest he will never be the guy to help us challenge. Every season he has been here he has always had these moments where he has deserved the sack, but let's keep pretending he can turn it around.

For evidence I would personally argue that he finished second with a worse squad last season.

Could do with another CM mind.

Definitely not. A strong win today is a great fillup, but unless we immediately back it up with strong outings in the next 2, he's still on the same thin ice for sure.

We won't win any trophies with this manager. We've won nothing with him so there's no bad day for for Ole out crowd.
When he wins the premier league or champions league or anything of note we can then say it's a bad day for them.

Starting 7 defensive players against a team which has only scored 9 in the league should absolutely never be applauded as some sort of getting it right. 0% tactical brilliance in that.

Happy we won, puts us in a better situation when we hopefully finally sack him.

The positive result and performance changes nothing in my mind and Solksjaer still needs to go.

The issue I have is that we'd been trailing Sancho for two years now because we identified the need for more creators in the side, specifically on the right. We also identified that we need to be more dominant on the ball and create chances through possession rather than through counterattacks.

But as soon as we try to implement such a style it became abundantly clear that the coaches haven't the ability to impose such a style on the team. So Sancho is dropped, the formation is changed and we go back to deep lying transitional attacks. We've essentially wasted millions in transfer fees and years in developing a side for a formation that we no longer use. All because the coach isn't good enough to actually take that step up to dominating games.

Totally agree, you'll get some saying ( after 90 mins ) give him another chance. Sadly he can'tgo fast enough for me.

I support the team. I won't support him. I will never forgive him for that embarrassing Liverpool defeat no matter what. He made me feel embarrassed watching United. It never happened before even in the worst days of Moyes, LVG and Mourinho, I always felt angry but never embarrassed.

Yep, let's splash 90 more millions on a midfielder next season to solve our midfield issue.

Chequebook manager.

Spot on.

It doesn't matter. We will back in a crisis under Ole soon enough. It will never be good enough

This.
Tottenham were downright awful. Could have easily conceded yet again if Son had put away that early chance.
Also taking of Lucas Moura who was one of their only players who looked lively and dangerous.
