Ole Gunnar Solskjaer criticises some players from time in charge at Old Trafford

Conviniently names some of the best players of today.

We do know he brought in 16 players and only Bruno has been an unmitigated success.

We dont know though how much control he had. I do believe though, given his Molde connection, he would have told the club to sign Haarland.

Which he apparently did before he even got the job as manager.

It's all a hit Arsene Whingery. We could have had x,y, & z but the money, the timing, etc etc etc..... if he was really convinced by them and had an ounce of conviction and authority about him, those players would be at the club.

You're acting like we genuinely didn't attempt to sign Caicedo, Bellingham and Haaland. We did. He's not making it up to make himself look better. There is corroboration by reputable sources.

And Wenger tried to sign Ronaldo, Zidane, Buffon, Pique, Messi, Varane, Mbappe etc etc etc.

No point banging on about it now.

Make no sense since Dan James is bargain type of signing even with that summer lower inflation context. In that same window, we inquired about Longstaff too. So if longstaff tranafer went through before any of those three signings, one of them wouldn't have been signed? Or let's say if we signed Trippier instead of AWB, then we were not allowed to sign another player with the difference in fee? That's the reason for Ole to go for future proof route singing younger player in AWB? Where did Bruno January fit in with this transfer policy?

These snippets from Ole's supposed new interview sounds plain weird. Why didn't Ole speak out against the Woodward and Glazer when he's here? Nobody with any sanity would think playing the yes man role with that kind of. Is Ole too naive by playing Mr anti Maureen nice guy role? Only come to the same conclusion now just like "them"?

Oh didnt see this thread, anything interesting from Bermuda triangle in human form

He went out personally to see Haaland didnt he, under the impression the personal touch would swing it. Still said no, the club just cant attract the best young talent anymore, like labelling Bellingham a United player. No he isnt, not anymore

Depressing isn't it? Time was that we'd snaffle talent like that no bother. All those years when the club was whoring its prestige out to commercial sponsors, others were building championship-winning teams.

Ole probably should have stayed quiet as he's just made himself look an utter puppet.

Strong hint to Ashley Young, he had worn the armband and was looking to leave

However, his frustration did get the better of him on one occasion. According to the Sun, mid-way through the 2019/20 captain Young had a furious verbal exchange with Solskjaer after storming down off the training pitch at Carrington and heading into the gym to work by himself.

Just a day prior, the pair had held talks over Young's future where the player is believed to have made crystal clear he wanted out to join Serie A titans Inter Milan. His outburst did not come without consequences, but ultimately got the ex-England international exactly what he wanted.

Young, who was captain at the time, was exiled from the squad for games against Norwich and Wolves before being sold just days later. United managed to recoup a meagre £1.3million for his services.

I genuiinely can't remember Young as captain.
Sounds ridiculous though.

This goes back to the Jose era, the players are absolutely rotten.

People keep saying this, but ...
let's look at the team spines, the ones who were clearly 1st choice in their position:

2012-13 title: DDG, Evra, Carrick, Valencia, Rooney, RvP.

Moyes: mostly the same

LvG: DDG, Smalling, Blind, Valencia, Young, Herrera, Rooney, Mata, Martial.

Jose: DDG, Smalling, Valencia, Young, Herrera, Matic, Pogba, Lukaku.

Ole: DDG, AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, Pogba, Bruno, Rashford, Martial.

Ragnick: DDG, Dalot, Maguire, Fred, Bruno, Rashford, Ronaldo.

ETH: Onana, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Bruno, Antony, Rashford.

There's zero continuity. The squad has been overhauled multiple times. There is nobody left from the poisonous Jose team, let alone LvG or Moyes. Only 3 of Ole's regular selection are still 1st choice. If rotten players were the cause of it, then simply by elimination, they're all gone now, or the small handful still around somehow exert massive influence over the whole club.

Doesnt matter its like disease, its spreads from one to another, all new guys look good, then after few months their form goes to shit and they drop on level of majority.

In the end Young won Serie A so he made the right decision.

Which manager other than Pep ever gets more than 3 big signings a window?

It’s also complete bollocks. Haaland was never coming to United. Raiola knew the big pay day would come once he had developed. We didn’t agree to a buy out clause, Dortmund did. That’s the only reason we didn’t get him.

We sign and breed poisonous rotten whingebags with no backbone since 2014.

The other explanation is that the coaching and fitness work here is worse than at other clubs.

e - which is not hard to believe about Moyes, LvG, Jose, and Ole.

I think the reason the higher ups refused to sign him because his camp insisted on a 40 or 60m release clause which BVB agreed to

And in that case, he would have left us to join City. That would have been amusing to say the least.

Because we award mediocrity. 5 games where a player has been half decent, the fans hype him up. There are compilations, tweets, interviews and like clockwork the news about an extensions comes out. As soon as they sign one, theyre injured and when they come back theyre shite again. Rinse and repeat...

And in that case, he would have left us to join City. That would have been amusing to say the least.
Naah If we wouldve bought him then I believe he wouldve gone to Barca in a couple seasons unless we won the PL / CL and gave him like a 500k pw wage or something

It’s not the same thing really as Ole promises things to players (like game time) and then never delivered on those promises. He’s just as toxic as anyone else at the club but because he scored in 99 and looks like a nice guy no one says anything.

He’s a coward. He waited until after he was no longer manager to throw the players he signed under the bus. At least the other managers were direct with players.

It’s like when you have an immature boss at work. They feck everything up, create cliques, and are too immature to see what they’ve created.

Ole isn’t the only problem but overall he’s a man child.

Yeah publicy criticizing players when you're still on the job worked wonderfully with Mourinho back then and ETH right now, eh?:lol::lol::lol:
Ole just like ETH cannot sell unwanted players without clubs approval, so what you gonna do to raise the moral of these unwanted divas up? telling them you wont get time cause youre crap or train hard you will get game time? fantastic that even when the next managers after him were/are getting served same old crap, some people are still blinded with their hatred on Ole they failed to see why the true reason why all of our managers failed.

The cult of OGS.

Yes, he was a great player for us but so what?

He was a pretty crap manager.I still have to pinch myself that he held the reigns for almost three years.....THREE years!

There were times it was obvious he should go but he didn't. If he really was a United man through and through he should have resigned but he didn't. His ego prevented him from doing it.

Yes it's a cult when the current manager is facing the very same problem :lol::lol::lol: shall we called people who defending ETH here as member of ETH cult aswell?

Why is this fecking moron being posted on a supposedly serious football discussion? There is so much here that is either completely made up or she has got so badly wrong that it's impressive. I'm not one to defend the owners but this is just utter drivel.

So much anger just because a young woman gets posted here. I dont really agree with her points, but calling her a moron is weird when we have so many other equally uninformed twitter accounts posted here as well.

Why on earth have you made this about her being a woman? I don't care if you are a man, woman, white, black, human or alien, if you're going to post a tweet with that amount of completely invented viewpoints as factual then you're a moron. You can't agree with her points because they are plainly wrong.

You are the one calling her a moron. You can disagree with someone without the namecalling. Anyone in here takes stats and statements and interprets them, no need to call someone a moron just because you disagree.

It's not a case of disagreeing, it's a case of blatant lies in the tweet. Anyone peddling information that is patently wrong as fact is either a liar or a moron. I've seen enough of her content to confidently say she is both, but we can stick to liar if it makes you feel better regarding that particular tweet.

Ronaldo cost him unfortunately. I’ve got a weird feeling that Ole will manage us again one day.

Also weird he hasn’t had any decent offers to return to management, although fair fecks for telling the Saudis where to go. Show me any other manager that gets 2nd and 3rd with a PL team and can’t get a gig - Lampard is the worst coach the league has ever seen but seems to find work!

It's not like Ole has no say in the matter of buying a player. Is he now implying he's just a puppet all along? If so, it's another issue. Ronaldo may play apart but nowhere near make or break. If Ole's strong, he can simply bench Ronaldo. Why does it sound like he's at mercy of some players despite they're underperforming?

Lampard got job at Everton because their management sucks. Also there was still some benefit of doubt to Lampard a try with relegation fight. Lampard got 4th on same point with Ole's 3rd place finish, when they were weathering transfer ban. He's out of his depth when the squad in invested, but still that squad went on to win CL, and make several domestic final as well as finishing in top 4. Having Lampard back as caretaker is more a political move from the new owner. Everyone know that Lampard.

With Ole, perhaps he doesn't want to humble himself to manage smaller club again, or people remember his stint at Cardiff? And our squad he built with money crashed so bad that no one can trust his style of management with their warchest?

Young was official club captain in 19/20 up until he left, so he wasn't one of them who turned it down.

You'd assume Pogba didn't fancy it after the grief he got when Mourinho made him vice-captain only to then say a few weeks later that he'd never captain United again.

Oh please, she’s just giving her opinion on what she thinks may have happened behind the scenes based on the information presented to us.

Different platform same outcome, no one has said what she said was true. Guarantee if some of the stuff that posters share on here was shared on Twitter it would get the same RT’s

ETH saying that there was 'no good culture' when he took over was a slight on Ole though, who retorted that loads of the players screwed him. That's how I read it from an admittedly cursory scan of the article anyway, rather than it all being Glazer-related.
Ole said that as well, I remember we played Everton? And he said that some of these players won’t be at United next season, and turns out little did he know they all would be because he wasn’t allowed to clear out. A no good culture will persist if you can’t get rid or replace the ones causing it.

I think Ole did well to clear out as much as he did. We’ve seen just this summer that even with the best will in the world, sometimes you can’t give this dross away.

Yup agreed. There's a huge amount I would get rid of and just start again. Arteta was allowed to get rid of basically anyone he wanted and start again. That's what this club needs, and until it happens, the team will remain dysfunctional with bad apples.

Club scouted Sancho for years for that right wing position and player refused to play on the right.
You cant make this shit up.

No wonder manager doesn't want to trust United's recruiting team when they can throw him under the bus at any time

It's hilarious isn't it? I assume you don't need an army of data analysts to ask the player such simple question

Did he ‘refuse’ to play on the right or did Ole switch to a wingerless 3-5-2 in an attempt to save his job then wait till now to drop this revelation?

Preferring to play on the left is not refusing to play on the right.

You can’t make this shit up indeed.
