None of the managers we appointed were good enough though

Aye, the players need to take a portion of the blame but it's also the job of a manager to properly motivate the players. Thus far our last few managers have failed to do that for a variety of reasons. Their failure shouldn't be used as a reason to excuse Ole of his own mistakes.

So can anyone explain what our attacking pattern is? Run into nearest defender?
Creatively bankruptcy

The worrying thing is Ole thinks that we need pre season to judge most of these players. He also isn't going to sign more than 6 players whereas arguably we need 6, if not, more.

Well I am hoping he has a different view on this come summer or else he will be out of job by Christmas.

If we carry on like this he won't be there next season. Not really his fault, it's time people stop protecting the players.

Giving him the job before the end of the season was always a baffling decision, there just wasn’t any need.

The summer will be interesting, but I’m not seeing a lot tactically to make me think things will be very different.

they are too shit to play at this level and they know it. Their only hope is to get the manager sacked which would lead to us signing yet another manager who would give them the benefit of the doubt. That's what they are aiming at

I was going to look for this quote but you’ve done it for me. Ole has referred to improving the quality of our squad a few times now. But he’s said, each time, that the club must be diligent in regards to the player’s personality. It’s about avoiding Di Maria’s, you feel.

Basically, @Litch is chatting shite.

Yep, I'm talking absolute loads of shite

We passed up on Mourinho to hire Moyes (back when Mourinho may have been good for us).

Passed up on Klopp due to a ludicrous Disneyland pitch and continuing to back LvG even after that terrible Christmas period.

Now potentially passed up on Pochettino for Ole. This club is simply repeating past mistakes.
This

23 PL goals in our last 14 games. Like I said ages ago, we've been horseshit since the Bournemouth game.

Should be looking at sacking that clown Woodward before we even think about Ole's position.

Absolutely mental to give Ole a permanent contract considering we had nothing to lose by holding on.

Even the timing was bizarre. Right after a defeat when things were looking down rather than up.

We literally went away to PSG and won 3-1 a month ago. We went on an extended run of good form which saw us back into CL contention in spite of seemingly being out of the race. We need improvements but we're more than capable of performing well. Results like this aren't an indicator of the squad's quality and if Ole can't get them to perform then that's got to come down on him.

Well when we were doing well then who was it?
It was a bump from getting rid of Mou and brining in a new coaching team.
The issue most people have is there is no identity on what he wants to do. There’s no blueprint we can hang onto for next season. We saw that with Pep and Klopp when they first arrived and struggled.
There's hasn't been a United style in years(Including the last years of Fergie)but with us so close to top 4 we are basically in survival mode. Trying to get wins in any shape or form to get over the finishing line.

Ole hasn't even had a pre season for feck sake.

Mourinho is one of the greatest mangers in the modern game(The guy has won the treble twice!)and Van Gaal help produced one of the greatest football teams of all time.

He was taken on permanently after we lost a couple of games. I think it was timed deliberately to try and get a bounce similar to we had when he first came in, and it’s backfired spectacularly. There was absolutely no reason not to wait until the end of the season, the club is completely incompetent.

None of this is Old's fault. If the squad is disillusioned because there's useless hacks earning four times their wages for nothing and players casting their eyes at other clubs that's on the board.

Nor is it Oles fault that previous managers have filled the squad with dross who can't control a ball. You can criticise tactics and substitutions but you could have a great manager (as we have had) but they can't get Lukaku to control a ball.

So if we get battered by city, which is a very real possibility, then also lose to Chelsea, again more than likely. Will OGS survive?

We were lucky to find an ancient Buffon who messed it up. This squad is shit who got three managers sacked and are working on their fourth. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Players are letting him down, but some of his selection choices are so bad it's just unbelievable.

This in not only on Ole. Look at the mess with Herrera a player that was key in the first month's of Ole. And we are losing it on a free.....

He's lost the entire dressing room before the season has even ended.

I feel so fecking bad for him and any other poor human who takes on this job under this current ownership. Absolute fecking disgrace.

Usually a team is a reflection of their current manager. United is one of rare teams who is a true reflection of our incompetent board.

Get DoF to help the man, sit down and figure some long-term strategy.

Ole is least to blame for this mess.

The players are fully to blame. Too many bad attitudes, half-arsed mentalities. No passion throughout this squad, no fighters whatsoever.

People are blaming Ole and reminiscing the good old Fergie days, but there’s not a chance fergie would have bought this sorry collection of overpaid, overpampered wastes of space.

Woodward is fecking inept when it comes into footballing decision.
We should have just waited till the end of season to assess things properly and tried not to change anything that got the players PERFORMING, which means We should have done feck all this season.

feck Woody.

Fully behind OGS getting the job, but I think we need to see how he reacts to a couple of defeats and poor performances. I know we got beat by PSG and reacted brilliantly, but things have moved on and we are on a crest of a wave that could soon turn sour if we lost 2 or 3 on the spin - will the players still be so fully behind him then?
Clearly, I hope we don't have to go through this, but his 'audition' kind of needs some bumps in the road for him to show his true potential for the job.
Can't be happier with everything MUFC since JM left. It's been like a dream. I'm hoping he gets the job full time and we totally push on next season.

I posted this in a separate thread when we were on a crest of a wave and I think been beaten once by PSG. I got hammered for it.
At the time we played as a unit and looked like we had a plan when we had the ball. Hoofball had gone out of the window and players were playing with flair and confidence.
I don't see any of this now - haven't for a few months.

Ole should at least get the summer window. There’s something wrong with our players.

People keep saying this but we aren't going to completely reform our whole squad from top to bottom within one summer. No club does.
