My post had nothing to do with the manager just quality of players. I was saying similar about Leicester when we had Mourinho in charge.

We beat Leicester with a depleted side a few weeks ago.

Hassenhuttl was seen as the type of manager we should be looking at by many on here a few weeks ago.

Is every manager that doesn't beat Southampton 9-0 going to be subject to the same standards as being applied tonight?

Well most actually commented on the difference in the standards of managers at both clubs. That’s become extremely prevalent this season.

Like when Moyes managed us and the hopefuls were saying the same thing while we rotted in mid table. “If” is a majestic word. There’s absolutely zero evidence that under Ole and his staff, we’re capable of scoring more than two goals, never mind go in a winning run.

Understand what your saying and I hated him before he came into the place but this is Ole who has made some hard choices I believe for the betterment of the club than himself. So if we went streaky where are you then?

It’s entirely possible looking at the fixtures.

PAUSE!!

and he won’t be proving no-one wrong. Absolutely no one.
I can’t see it happening but I would love nothing more then Ole to prove me , and everyone who thinks he not good enough, wrong.

But seeing as how the goalpost keep changing. Only in May it was “judge him after he’s had ONE window” now he needs 6 windows and a free pass this season. Let’s clarify what proving people wrong is, or more easily what it isn’t. Not getting relegated isn’t proving people wrong. Getting relegated and winning the championship is not proving people wrong.

Well how good was Moyes coaching staff, or for that matter LVG or Jose’s?

If your now willing to throw three club legends of Ole, Carrick and Phelan under the bus it says more about you than it does about United.
Throwing under the bus? I like Ole as a player like I like many others like Pat, Rio, Scholes, Vidic, Giggs etc etc. But I don't think they should be even considered for manager's job. Part of a coaching staff if we had a good manager? Sure. Manager? No fecking way. If it's throwing them under the bus then I don't really know what to reply.

Sometimes people think that the legends have a god given right to run this club.

Your willing to throw them all under the bus because you don’t like the last few months of football or a few at the backend of last season.

Instant results is what your looking for, not the bigger picture.

Could have just left it at that mate.
It’s as if every OgS apologist on this forum have never had a real job; stay with me. . .

You do well at a business, break efficiency records & earn the company millions; some of your habits are now installed as ‘best practice’. You leave & go into a management role at a smaller business, do a decent job there & get the chance to return to your old company as manager - the business is struggling, you come in & do well for a few months but the business is performing worse after 10 months than it was prior to you coming in. Would said company look back on when you were the best associate & earned them millions, decades earlier or are you getting sacked because you aren’t good enough in your current role?

You can turn the above into any line of employment. You are judged on the role you occupy not the role you did previously.

It is in no way disrespectful to say OgS has been a below-average manager across his 2 spells in English football; it doesn’t make him any less of a United legend that he has shown a lack of ability to manage at this level.

He doesn’t have the right to manage us badly because he served us greatly as a player.

Leicester sure shouldn’t expect ‘instant results’ from Rodgers. All teams must be utterly shit for months on end once they get a new manager. Top, top logic.

We getting somewhere now!

What’s the big picture? Don’t tell me if you tell me you’re going to have to kill me either.

Some in here are totally away with the fairies. I didn’t think LSD was big anymore, but clearly some in this thread are well stocked with it from the 90’s.

I don’t think they do and if after 2 years he’s proven wrong rugby kick him out of the ground, he’s not had a full season.
I'm all for giving him time but only if I see any bit of progress. The team is regressing on game by game basis. This is worst football we have witnessed since SAF retired.

Pretty simple - a mind change from the money obsessed pricks we have been signing to players who are the right stuff.

Do you have an issue with Bissaka, James and Maguire?

Do you have an issue with offloading Lukaku, Sanchez, Fellaini and Smalling?

Do you really think he didn’t want a goal Scorer?
I think he wanted a lot of things.

I’d quite like a Lamborghini but I’m ‘making do’ with a BMW.

He continues to say the players he wanted weren’t available but look at this squad; yes we may not be competing with Real for Hazards signature but is there not RW in world football not named Sancho that would have improved us?

We were willing to spend [reportedly so can’t 100% say] £25mil on Longstaff but wouldn’t compete with Leicester for Tielemans.

OgS has a notion still that United are shopping at the top table; £50mil on an RB/£80mil on a CB but he doesn’t seem to back his ability to find a gem & make them better players.

What I find rather funny is that Ole Gunnar Solskjær most likely wouldn’t sign Ole Gunnar Solskjær if you listen to his hollow rhetoric.

Whether he wanted a signing & couldn’t make it or not, he’s done absolutely nothing to improve the players currently at his disposal.

We have issue with the way the team is playing. For months.

Always makes me laugh when people believe what he says in public is what he says in private

Maybe he can’t improve some of these players because they are beyond improvement?

2 of the most talented have spent most of the season “injured”

He’s tougher than what most fans give him credit for and i like that because I believe he will have these bluffers out the club a lot sooner than any new manager would.

Is it gonna be pretty? no but im old and ugly enough to shoulder a mid table place to let him do the work that is necessary.

I never said it was disrespectful to question OGS' ability as a football manager, I've done that very thing on countless occasions in this thread myself, but why can't we do so with a modicum of respect?

This thread has descended into a battle between those who are willing to give Ole more time to implement his plan and those who are not prepared to wait for said plan to come to fruition. It's more a case of oneupmanship where many posters are concerned.

I think your living in a fantasy if you think United fans don’t want Neymar, Mbappe, Verratti and Koulibaly.

You don’t know what the right stuff is and neither does anyone here. What we do know is what a good player and rubbish player looks like. How hard they run or how quiet they are or seem off the field does not cloud my judgement.

Open your eyes for feck sake. If you think we are playing very good since PSG away then gold help you.

He should help you regardless.

Christ do you think I think it’s good football?

It depresses me, I just see no benefit replacing the manager when the problems lie elsewhere and for for the first time since fergie I actually like the manager.

Well most actually commented on the difference in the standards of managers at both clubs. That’s become extremely prevalent this season.
Well here is my point of view:

- Two best XIs that I saw as near enough equal before the season started.
- One has had their best XI available nearly every game with no European complications.
- The other obviously hasn't.
- Due to the above it might be wrong to decide that the difference in league position is purely down to the managers.

Just my opinion but it would be interesting to know which part of the above you disagree with?

Well I’ll tell you this now and I’m not surprised you named him reading some of your posts.

NEYMAR is absofeckinglutely the wrong stuff for this club and if you really think he would be a good signing tells me everything I need to know about you, your opinion and your for shit values.

Did they both deserved to be sacked yes. Was there a point in their management where i liked them. Yes.

And you did enjoy the run Old went on?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just trying to understand your point of view and why you think that changing the management again will help?

Do you think the players Ole has brought in are poor?

Do think think the players that have gone needed to stay?

One thing has remained the same across all managers it's the players, we all know that the midfield play is too slow in pass, they lack courage. I don't think it's a quick, fix I think the player lack confidence on the field. I also think this happens only on the field - they are mentally fragile. When they play in training with Rashy and co they know it doesn't matter and on the pitch they are completely different.

That’s your problem. You think football is church. It’s just
Football morals and values are for pu$$£ trying to get a higher ground for failure.

There’s right and wrong reasons for transfers but if you are telling me Neymar a kid from Santos was a stupid idea for Barcelona to sign him based on their more open and visible ‘Barcelona way’ values you’ll have to expend on wrong stuff.

You’re the kid of person who wouldn’t have wanted Ronaldinho here.

Nope I’d have took Ronaldinho

Neymar is a disgrace, he’s offended PSG fans with his lack of professionalism

Last thing we need is another show pony who spends most of his time “injured”

Yes I did and did it not prove that Jose deserved to be sacked? Which goes back to my last point. Some managers actually deserve to go.

Changing Ole will help and he is not of the calibre a Club or this statue requires. We are not Southampton.

I think the players he brought in are okay. They are hardly world class.

The ones he sold I don’t miss them but if they stayed I wouldn’t be losing any sleep. Except for Fellaini.

It’s a tired excuse. Bredan Rodgers has Paule’s players amen Pep’s best players have been managed by Mancini and Peligrini. I don’t need every manager to have there own players for it to work. Zidane won 3 champions leagues and brought no ones.

But yet he’s this difference from them being a good team and a great team. Believe me if he wasn’t injured we would have got knocked out comfortably in March.

We apparently got the option to sign him this summer as he is obviously leaving PSG sometime soon, we declined due to many factors.

Even the mighty man united with dickhead Ed don’t want none of that action?

Bigger picture with Ole is Championship football. No thanks.

At the end of the day, Ole is just a PR manager. I think everyone is the world wouldn't think he is a saviour. Somehow he managed to bring smile and joy when he joined the club with a lot of optimism and positive energy to the club. It went all downhill after PSG. Now we are seeing the real Ole, someone who has no football style, cannot improve players, praying the players will switch it on one day, giving excuses for poor performance. Delusional manager who think he can turn it around.

Always makes me laugh when people believe what he says in public is what he says in private
It always makes me laugh when people would rather guess what he says in private than go by what he says publicly; there’s a wave of our fans who are ITKs, say something they don’t like & it’s ‘he doesn’t think this in private’ as if any of us have a tangible bit of evidence but when he says something they do like [‘players I wanted weren’t available’] it’s lapped up & used as a defence.

I started the season ‘reading between the lines’ but made the decision to judge him on all his words & his teams actions on the pitch.

I have no doubt he says a number of things in private that he doesn’t in public but I can’t say definitively what they are.

I actually believe very few words he says.
Maybe he can’t improve some of these players because they are beyond improvement?
Agreed yet he persists in starting Juan Mata, he came into the season with Ashley Young as back up to oft injured Luke Shaw. He has 17 y/o Greenwood as back up ST but moves Rashford central when Martial is injured.

The level of improvement you’ll get from a Lingard is vastly different to a Rashford; neither has made great strides.

He doesn’t/hasn’t improved players.
2 of the most talented have spent most of the season “injured”
True. Player absence hasn’t dictated a change in pattern of play though. We’ve stripped our squad of talent in the last 2 windows so lapses in quality are understandable what is unforgivable is the clueless nature we approach each game. I’m not expecting this team to win the league, or genuinely challenge for Top 4 but to see a style of football should be the minimum. It’s a quality & coaching issue.
He’s tougher than what most fans give him credit for and i like that because I believe he will have these bluffers out the club a lot sooner than any new manager would.
Again, claiming to see something others don’t that isn’t actually tangible; I understand you’ve chosen to believe & respect that perspective but our results have been historically bad - you can’t counter that fact with you being able to see something that can’t be quantified.

I believe most managers would have sold Sanchez & Lukaku so wouldn’t give OgS credit but I can’t definitively say this.
Is it gonna be pretty? no but im old and ugly enough to shoulder a mid table place to let him do the work that is necessary.
The notion that we have to be substantially worse to become substantially better is truly laughable.

A rebuild does not mean sell players, leave yourself short; underachieve so the lofty transfer targets you set will be even less interested, then attempt to buy players.

The thought that treating ins & outs mutually exclusive is ok, is absurd.

‘Shouldering’ a mid table place isn’t some badge of honour; United could get relegated & as fans we would still support the club.

It is not necessary to perform meekly & write of a season; no one was thinking league title on here but OgS selling that things need to be this bad for them to get better is honestly shameful.

Was Mane or Salah world class? Hell was sterling?

So you are the "we are better" lot.. its weird because my family are all fans, but they understand the process. I'm up for given him a chance of two more windows, to me it needs to be don'e and hell yes it hurts - but I look at the three players Ole has brought in and I dont think would LVG or Jose would have got James or even WANB..
