We apparently got the option to sign him this summer as he is obviously leaving PSG sometime soon, we declined due to many factors.

Even the mighty man united with dickhead Ed don’t want none of that action?
This is the thing though. It's precisely because we are a circus under Ed and a soft touch under Ole, that players like Neymar wouldn't take it seriously here and treat us like a joke though.

You don't expect top talents to seriously join a sinking ship with questionable ambitions, competing for top 6 at best do you?

Let me ask you a question. You don't think SAF wouldn't have moved heaven and earth to bring someone of Neymar's calibre to the club when the standards were much higher here? I'm sure he would have backed himself as strong & ambitious enough to get the best out of him.

Those missing values are the elephant in the room here.

It always makes me laugh when people would rather guess what he says in private than go by what he says publicly; there’s a wave of our fans who are ITKs, say something they don’t like & it’s ‘he doesn’t think this in private’ as if any of us have a tangible bit of evidence but when he says something they do like [‘players I wanted weren’t available’] it’s lapped up & used as a defence.

I started the season ‘reading between the lines’ but made the decision to judge him on all his words & his teams actions on the pitch.

I have no doubt he says a number of things in private that he doesn’t in public but I can’t say definitively what they are.

I actually believe very few words he says.

Agreed yet he persists in starting Juan Mata, he came into the season with Ashley Young as back up to oft injured Luke Shaw. He has 17 y/o Greenwood as back up ST but moves Rashford central when Martial is injured.

The level of improvement you’ll get from a Lingard is vastly different to a Rashford; neither has made great strides.

He doesn’t/hasn’t improved players.

True. Player absence hasn’t dictated a change in pattern of play though. We’ve stripped our squad of talent in the last 2 windows so lapses in quality are understandable what is unforgivable is the clueless nature we approach each game. I’m not expecting this team to win the league, or genuinely challenge for Top 4 but to see a style of football should be the minimum. It’s a quality & coaching issue.

Again, claiming to see something others don’t that isn’t actually tangible; I understand you’ve chosen to believe & respect that perspective but our results have been historically bad - you can’t counter that fact with you being able to see something that can’t be quantified.

I believe most managers would have sold Sanchez & Lukaku so wouldn’t give OgS credit but I can’t definitively say this.

The notion that we have to be substantially worse to become substantially better is truly laughable.

A rebuild does not mean sell players, leave yourself short; underachieve so the lofty transfer targets you set will be even less interested, then attempt to buy players.

The thought that treating ins & outs mutually exclusive is ok, is absurd.

‘Shouldering’ a mid table place isn’t some badge of honour; United could get relegated & as fans we would still support the club.

It is not necessary to perform meekly & write of a season; no one was thinking league title on here but OgS selling that things need to be this bad for them to get better is honestly shameful.

Appreciate you have put some time into this response with thought so I won’t give it the dickhead response you sometimes get on here, I have been drinking many Stella though so bear with me

I have never claimed to be a ITK but I believe I can understand situation, selling players and buying players is not a symbiotic path so we had to let the guys go and hope we got the replacement. We didn’t.

You say he persists in starting mata but what choices do we currently have and I believe he’s only played 7 games out of 9

Style of football? Your all in dreamland, winning the next game is all that counts unfortunately (replace him and it will be the same for another few months at least)

Ole soft or tough? Every professional that has ever spoke of him has talked about his determination and ruthlessness.

Style? We can’t get a style until we have the players, don’t know how that’s hard to argue against? You don’t want half the experienced players playing so you want kids to play showboating football in the premier league against seasoned professionals?

Can’t see what can possibly go wrong

Fergie wouldn’t touch neymar with a barge pole, have you ever read his books?

Player character and dressing room was is focus, once someone turned into a show pony they were out.

Why would he buy one in?

New fan are you?

 fair play mate.

Good to see it doesn’t always have to be so disrespectful on here.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one mate.

Ole, thank you for lifting the club after Mourinho left and playing some decent football and thank you for that night in Paris. But please, do the honourable thing and go.
He wont go, he is clearly selfish and will not leave until we sack and he gets his money. Cant blame him for that. he wants to secure his life and retirement, fair to
him, but he can not expect to be respected as a club legend if he is willing to take down the club with him.

Disgusting comment it really is

SAF had a team full of braveheart good lads did he?

Neymar is one of the best players in the world. A player who can win matches on his own. I know SAF valued that highly & never shied away from difficult personalities. Why wouldn't he want someone like that?

My point is, under Ed & Ole, we're not ambitious or strong enough to have a player such as Neymar. Under SAF though, I would have backed him to have him performing properly. The same way Neymar will probably go to either Madrid or Barca and behave himself there.

I'm pointing out how weak the club is from top to bottom. By the standards being set, we're not a top club anymore. We used to be under SAF though.

All these excuses for failure are just that... excuses to cover up incompetence from top to bottom.

We getting somewhere now!

What’s the big picture? Don’t tell me if you tell me you’re going to have to kill me either.
Gotta love this bigger picture tripe from some fans. We have a budget manager and coaches because our owners are cowards, liars and cheap. Then we have fans defending their philosophy and saying we shouldn’t get a world class manager because of some magic Disney dream plan spoon fed to them by the idiots running our club.

Absolute insanity atm. Should have kept Jose and got rid of Pogba etc we’d be in a far better position right now because he was actually calling our board out on their bullshit. We also won with him as manager and he was playing the youth.

We at our best couldn’t handle neymar, at our worst he would be a disaster.

Was Mane or Salah world class? Hell was sterling?

So you are the "we are better" lot.. its weird because my family are all fans, but they understand the process. I'm up for given him a chance of two more windows, to me it needs to be don'e and hell yes it hurts - but I look at the three players Ole has brought in and I dont think would LVG or Jose would have got James or even WANB..

So Mane and Salah or the equivalent to Dan James? Okay then... and all the players mentioned improved. Who we improved?

You and your family are going to be disappointed as he will be sacked. You’re talking like this is a season of Game of Thrones.

You just want the big names admit it

every team has a bad day at the office. However in our case its been months.

How many managers should we go through before it sinks in that there has to be responsibility from the players? Do they have to have their hands held putting the ball in the net?

No one is going to convince me that Ole and Phelan train the players to not hold onto a lead/not finish chances/not being able to pass the ball 5 yards/throwing the ball to an opponent directly from our throw in that results in a goal against us etc. It doesn’t add up. There has to be a line drawn.

Whoever also thought it was a good idea to only give him 3 players needs to feck off as well.

No I’m not going to be put in a box to fit your narrative. There’s no right or wrong just common sense. This is why you fail to see our manager is crap.

When Ed does his media spiel he’s talking to you. Your that fan in the 80’s that ‘gets it’

Wow, just wow. Up there with the worst comments about Ole on the Caf, and that’s saying something.

The one good thing he has done is get rid of the money grabbing mercenaries, he’s not one of them.

The guy loves the club, stop sulking and get a grip.

Oh I agree that he would (rightly) take the mick out of us in our current state.

I disagree that things wouldn't be different under SAF though. The standards throughout the club were like night & day back then. He wouldn't settle for anything short of excellence.

It's embarrassing to see so many fans lap up this 'process' talk from failing club management. I cringe at it all, I really do.

It's hard to believe it's the same club really, as we sit 14th a few points above the relegation places... and our manager talks about having to be at our best to stand a chance vs bottom of the table, newly promoted Norwich

(then again, he was shown up by bottom of the table Bruce's Newcastle only a few weeks ago, so he's probably right)

... It's a surreal world indeed.

Could not agree more. The thing is nobody is sat here saying Ole is doing amazing and is the answer to all our problems but at the same time there are major issues in this club, above him and within the playing staff.

He no doubt needed more than 3 players, Lukaku should have been replaced, Ed fecked him on that, no doubt in my mind.

It’s so easy to sit and say the manager is at fault for everything, let’s just get another manager, except it hasn’t worked previously since SAF and there even less managers available at this time.

My god, is he allowed to say that on here?

A multimillionaire with a £5m gaf rented out to a scouser last year who could have left us when he wasn’t so rich many years ago for more money.

He should be banned.

Dont be dramatic. For me, the club is more important than one person, specially if this person is holding onto the job that is destroying our beautiful club. If he loves the as you say, then club he should resign now.

Leicester sure shouldn’t expect ‘instant results’ from Rodgers. All teams must be utterly shit for months on end once they get a new manager. Top, top logic.

Indeed.

Ole (or any other MUFC manager) would need at least 5 years to get us playing expansive football.
And then there is the league table. Surely a new manager can't come in and have a team in the top 3, within 12 months?
Our manager needs at least 3 years to achieve that and needs to buy the most expensive defender in the World....to achieve 14th place.
And let's not forget the Chelsea had a transfer ban...they're in 4th.

Our standards are now so low, that fans are quite happy to put up with 14th place.
I mean, WTF - 14th place and fans are accepting that this is the way forward!!!
Just thinking of this gets me angry.

14th fecking place.
Fecking relegation battle.

Our next game is against Norwich and I think this is a 6 pointer.

Just look at some posts above, they are ready to fight to death to defend Ole despite the fact we are in a relegation battle, I really cant understand how fans are changing so fast to mediocrity, but Ole succeeded in lowering the expectations very very low.

Your basically accusing Ole a club legend who stayed with us for less money and a lower role of fecking us over now because of money.

You should be ashamed.

Nicely put.

It's shameful to see what we have become in these 6 years. It's surreal to think that, this is even the same club anymore.

We are Manchester United right?

The thing is, when Ole talks about us having to be at our best to stand a chance this weekend vs bottom of the league Norwich... we're so bad and the future so bleak under him, I actually agree with him. That tells you all you need to know about what I think of us under him.

To see the majority of fans so accepting of our current situation is embarrassing.

A whopping 7 points off 4th with only 29 games to go!! Oh the drama

Think people need to get a grip. Ole's comments about stopping Norwich and us having to be at our best is reality. It's actually a very good sign in my opinion because he was teetering on delusion earlier with how he was happy with some of the performances. Maybe now they'll actually start putting some focus on the real problem areas.

Right now we have zero reason to be confident just because we are Man United, we can even come in sub par and win. Not that we shouldn't be fighting like mad every game but, more so now than ever we need to.
Last season after we got spanked by Everton I heard a man speak about it being an embarrassment for Manchester United.

Six months on, the same manager is setting the stage of excuses for similarly being spanked by a newly promoted team.

What am I supposed to grip exactly? Maybe an old vhs of United that I can smash across my head and imagine the last six years didn't happen.

The players aren't good enough irrespectively of how much they work hard according to Ole. However let's have some perspective here. We had never been to 12th place before. With all their fault neither Mou nor LVG had taken us to this pit and they worked pretty much with a similar squad . There is no denying that our tactics aren't up for grabs. Players look lost and you can often count the good performers on three fingers. It's not shocking to believe that Ole is out of depth considering the shocking results and that he was also out of depth at Cardiff as well

Starting the season with just 3 players was stupid. However constantly supporting those who did so is nothing short to criminal as well. While I never agreed with Mou's constant moaning I would never share Ole’s positive mantra as well. If I wasn't given the tools needed to work with then I would state so. However if I refused the new tools given because they aren't exactly what I want or because I thought I could live without them (cause of youths) or I simply blew the entire budget on defenders then its on me.

7 points off after 9 games. Do you know how statistical projection works? Or better yet, do you know how to interpret what your eyes see on a football pitch?

Agree. It's for the 'greater good'. And if you can't see that you have 'no long term view'. We have to suffer a little to eventually (in 2085) succeed.

Honestly. If we were playing good football, and there were signs of style of play and players developing etc. I wouldn’t mind being 14th at this stage and I’d be happy to give him time as id have reason to believe results will come.

A whopping 7 points off 4th with only 29 games to go!! Oh the drama
Were 7 points off 4th not 1st, after 9 games. That's appallingly bad.

I think we'll close the gap a bit. But it's clear as day that Ole isn't good enough.

"I hope we are going to stop them because it's always going to be difficult down at Carrow Road. So hopefully we'll have a fresh team because we'll need to be at our best to have a chance." - Ladies and gentlemen let me present to you Ole's philosophy.

Is this actually from the pre-match presser? Moyes got rightly slaughtered for saying Liverpool are the favorites at OT, but this is another level of shite. But you can bet there will be posters defending this statement.

Christ do you think I think it’s good football?

It depresses me, I just see no benefit replacing the manager when the problems lie elsewhere and for for the first time since fergie I actually like the manager.
So you think the football will magically get better on its own?
