Terrible, but I'm willing to let him at least have a season to see how he does. Remember SAF was rubbish at the start

Lingard recently was fit and didn't start every game. Also it's not that we have many options up front anyway.

I'll argue he wasn't fit and he introduced him gradually. Anyway I hope you're right.

Because our squad and the Real squad he took over are comparable?

Christ...

Doesn’t matter if our squad is comparable to Madrid. A good managers with a good philosophy is able to get their players playing good football. The team we put out against West Ham was much better, but we were outplayed today.

I was in diplomatic mood so far. Never said 100% what i really think about him, but now i will say it.
He is average manager. His last spell in Molde was average( two times 5th and one time third). In Cardiff it was debacle. Except his first few games here, our general play is nearly the same as it was with Jose.
He is all that nice talk and smile but on the pitch it is the same as it was with Jose. And to be completely honest, Jose at least didn't play on counters against small teams at OT.
You all say that he needs 300mil to build his squad. Our squad is not top class but he is dominated by West Ham and Watford at OT. There is no excuse for that.

We fecked up with new coach. Again.

This is what I have been thinking, but then I saw the result he put on in his honeymoon period and then somewhat change my opinion about him. No doubt, I never taught that Ole is a better manager than Zidane, Pochettino or Tuchel, but now I am concerned that he may not be better than peak Mourinho at United.

I think what I fear is that he can give a team a boost by his positivity and lifting the spirit up around the team.

Although I am not sure he can tactically develop our side or improve the way we attack. I guess it takes time though so we will see what he can do next season. I guess with the attackers we got he would be fairly limited. Although he should teach say Martial to make better runs and work on certain attacking moves we could make to hurt teams.

We need to work on the way we press teams too. We are not doing it well at all and it makes it hard for us to dominate games even against weaker teams at home.

Can we just point out something, even one of the best managers in world football in Mourinho (3 years ago won a PL title) did worse with this squad than Ole. Says alot about our squad.

However, our passing has been so bad in transition or even causing unforced errors. So strange.

A game which Mourinho took a risk by playing a young CM in the backline to try improve our playing out the back. A move he has since been relentlessly criticised for. How is then playing Andreas at RB a positive from Ole?

Ole has no other option in the bench for fullback position so he take a risk by playing Pereira, that's called taking a risk, like Fergie used to do so many times

Jose play Mctominay in cb from the start while still having Baily on the bench, that's stupidity and stubbornnesss and of course he made an excuse by saying something like wanting to play out from the back, if that's what he want he would have benched Smalling

Lingard was dropped for Barcelona at home only a few days ago.

The favourite argument is stupid anyway. No matter who Ole starts people are going to complain because our squad isn't good enough at the moment. People think it can't get any worse but it very much can. Give Rojo a few more games at fullback and we will be crying out for Young.

Ole can't turn shit into diamonds. Clearly it's all his fault.
I quoted you but this is main theme here. Our squad is somehow shit so it is normal to play like this.
No, our squad is not shit. Our squad is not top class as Barca, Juve, City...but on the other hand our squad is space shuttle for all teams outside top6. And some of those teams dominated us. Against West Ham and Watford we were outplayed at OT. That is on manager, not "shit" players

Subs and favorites. That's used to criticize him. First is brought up whatever subs he makes second is made up imo.

Have to admit it is worrying. Granted Mata and Lingarrd did not help things by being shit.

Too much dilly dallying today and not enough quick passes. Pogba seemed to hold on to the ball far too long.

Worrying indeed.

Title-challenging form since he took over. Only one truly shite performance. Had to contend with injuries after a total 180 degree shift in play-style with a selection of players whose presence in the squad he had zero control over.

The facts speak for themselves. Negative nancies can get fecked.

I don't know how anyone can watch us get consistently played off the park by teams like Watford, West Ham at Old Trafford and blame anyone but the management team.

It kind of seems like he has given the players too much licence to do what they want. As such the players are not working hard enough.

Absolutely right, I too am not a big fan of Lingard or Rojo today, but I don't see any other option for Ole to pick the team today. Anyone saying some kids from academy should have started today clearly plays too much football manager

Maybe. Or giving them the licence to prove that they are fit to be Utd players.

We know the ones to cut!

Personally I'd have rather seen Ole come in and gradually improve how the team plays, rather than see a massive improvement, followed by an equally big decline.
So I think it's right to ask some gentle questions about how the above has happened so quickly.

Right now it just seems sometimes we get lucky, sometimes we don't, rather than any method to our play.

How is having no other option taking a risk? It is literally the opposite of taking a risk as its the only possible option. He had Darmian to choose anyway. Making a choice despite having other options is taking a risk.

So you've completely made something up to try praise Ole for something you've criticized Mourinho for. Nice double standards.

Ole gets a free pass for games against Barcelona (or PSG) but it is worrying that we are struggling at home against a West Ham team with nothing to play for. The honeymoon could not go on forever but last 4 weeks have been depressing. It feels like Snakes and Ladders and we have just slid down the snake back to December.

Seriously? Mourinho opted for McTominat at CB from the start of the match several times, as I recall. You can get away more with wingers and fullbacks than you can with a CB or a CM that doesn’t get things right.

In no way has Ole engaged in anything comporable to sticking someone with no prior experience into such a position.

I wrote having no other option on the bench in case you can't read, and Ole said Darmian is still not matchfit. He still had option to keep Rojo and not changing the defense structure, so yeah Ole took a risk and Mou was being stupid.

Not double standard, just normal human observation

So in other words he was taking a risk? Ole literally just played Andreas at RB, a position he has never played. Also a risk. A risk he has just been praised for and Mourinho criticised for. Is playing young players out of position praiseworthy or should be criticised? Which is it? You can't just have it how you want it depending on what manager did it.

You're the one that said Ole had not other option. You can't even seem to observe what your own argument is.

Another worrying thing is I can count the number of games we've had more shots than the other team on one hand.

No style of play is worrying, again!! Ole started off like we were seeing his footprint on the team. Last 7-8 games makes it look like it was a complete fluke! You don't need a transfer window to implement your own style. Hasenhüttl is testament to that, with much inferior players!

Oh my god I clearly wrote Ole had no other option on the bench for fullback position, as Darmian is still not matchfit.

Yes I am the one who cannot observe

Hang on I'm gonna bolded my original post so no other idiot misread it again

He ENDED the match with Pereira on right back, he didn’t START several matches with him there. Central positions are also more prone to being disastrous if you’re not sure what you’re doing, a back position is far less so. I stated this earlier. Ole in addition did this to chase a result, whereas Mourinho did it with a very inexperienced youngster to prove a point, as his signing that was actually a CB was sitting on the bench. If you really don’t see the differences then I don’t know what to say.

I'm behind the man 200 % but the tactics were so wrong today, like against Watford. The team divided in two clear blocks, playing far too direct unnecessarily every time we got the ball, and then leaving our defence isolated with no presence in midfield. It's basically playing the lottery and going from one box the other like headless chickens.

We really need to calm down on the ball a little bit, advance positions together and elaborate attacks a bit more. And if we cross aimlessly then at least to be prepared to press as a unit high up the field. I think away from home we play more compact and balanced, like against Arsenal or Wolves in the league and I think we were fine in the collective aspect. Our approach at home lately is wrong from the concept itself.

I couldn't watch the game tonight, just watched some highlights. Upon seeing the starting team I thought "we're fecked". It didn't look like a coherent team at all, definitely not Ole's first choice 11. Glad we won, not sure how we played on the whole but I honestly expected a loss when I saw all those players on the team sheet. 3 points and on we go. Pleased for Pogba, did well to get both those penalties in and we needed them to go in

Just give it a rest mate, we're apparently making things up and have double standard

I fully trust Ole. He'll get it right. Very excited for the summer.

Where does the unequivocal trust come from though? Look up his record with Molde.

Fantastic player, but pretty mediocre manager before December.

I think the selections and subs were a bit strange today but injuries and suspensions forced his hand.

Amazing how fans are angry with the same Ole that turned our season around and gave us hope again, using the same players of previous failed managers.

Do we also blame him for overpaid professional players unable to do basics? The majority of our squad are pathetic and so are those responsible for renewing their contracts.
