Is it something along the lines of he needs his own players to get his style across?

If he wants patience maybe he should win a game.

There isn't much in it between us and Leicester tbf, and in some areas I'd actually wager they are better than us. Particularly in the most important area on the pitch (midfield); so yes, I'd say that there isn't much difference between the squad we have and Leicester.Leicester are in third. So by your logic they are much better than us. If you can agree to that, I will agree to positions defining the quality of teams this early in the season.
As for the saves, I think you nay need to rewatch the match. We had plenty of possession, especially when they went down to 10, but we hardly did anything with that possession. The point that you agree we could not deliver in the final third time and again actually proves the point we are not a well coached team. We seem bereft of playing intricate football except for a couple of moments of individual brilliance. Many times it fails because it seems the players are trying those moves for the first time itself.
This is the whole point. We are being coached to counter attack at pace. But when there is no space behind our players don't know how to break down that defense. We are really poor and keep fumbling around in front of a packed defense. Unless that is sorted, it will keep repeating and it won't matter how many deadwood we ship off.
If ‘fans’ don’t have patience... maybe they should consider supporting another team?
The way I see it... we’re starting to clear a lot of deadwood from the squad but there’s plenty more could be purged elsewhere.

Absolutely. I watched Southampton game again last night, and I’m really puzzled by some of the comments. Should have won that game easy. Trying to see what all the doom and gloom posters say about non style of play. I thought it was easy to see several things which certainly is style of play. The team move defensive as a unit now. Last season there was a big gap between midfield and back line. Now they move as a unit and are mostly composed. Off course there are blips, and they usually come when losing the ball with bad passes. Retaining the ball deep, it’s the same thing. The forwards move as a unit and fast. The Achilles heal, power play. Well, again there is a lot of good movement, but also some lack of rhythm. There are two ways mainly trying to open up, and that is moving the ball fast on the ground creating space to run in, and making crosses and running behind defenders. For me that does not only show a style of play, but diversity. They can switch, and they do. What is evident on things to work on is finishing. There are a lot of bad passes which loose the ball, but also hindering the rhythm in attack. These are things that will be better when players develop relationships. After all, it is a pretty new composed team. For me, I support Ole’s statement 100%. There isn’t a dip in form, but a dip in results. This team could easily be on top of the table with a bit of luck and more clinical finishing. Two/three players in and some time to find that rhythm, and this is a football team.I'm as disappointed about the results as the next guy on here.
But if we compare the results with the same fixtures last season, then we have won 2 points more than we did last season so that has to be
a positive yes? I think as long as we win more points than we did last season we have progress.
Also I believe that there are lots of positives to take with us from the first games. Defense looks better, more attacking football. Daniel James! Pogba looks more invested and genuinely disappointed in him self when
he makes errors. More refreshing than last season when it looked like he was thinking about what to twitter next when he lost the ball.
I think we may be on to something here...
Premier league 2018-19
Manchester United – Chelsea 1-1
Wolverhampton – Manchester United 2-1
Manchester United – Crystal Palace 0-0
Southampton – Manchester United 2-2
Mate, absolutely bang on. The likes of that guy and a few others on this forum as well as social media are literal deadwood. Contribute nothing in terms of debate or support, but want to bask in the vicarious glory and will throw a hissy fit when they don't.If ‘fans’ don’t have patience... maybe they should consider supporting another team?

No, I'd rather we ban the turncoats who disrespected a total club legend when he stopped winning every week, but we can't have everything I suppose...If we start winning again can we ban you for celebrating our success as your so happy to remove fans who want us to be successful again?
I said almost exactly the same yesterday and I was accused of insulting the posterAbsolutely. I watched Southampton game again last night, and I’m really puzzled by some of the comments. I have my own issues with Ole but funny how he didnt spout similar shit under JM.
I think we will have to disagree on this. I think we are improving as a counter attacking unit but not so much as a team who can play fluid football in possession. That has already let us down and will keep doing so till Ole fixes it. Whether he has the ability to do so remains to be seen. On the evidence so far, I don't see it happening. There isn't much in it between us and Leicester tbf, and in some areas I'd actually wager they are better than us. Particularly in the most important area on the pitch (midfield); so yes, I'd say that there isn't much difference between the squad we have and Leicester.
Also, while the point re the table was a facile one, my actual argument was in terms of the results and performances during these 4 games. On that metric, Palace have outperformed Newcastle. Not by much, but they have outperformed them nonetheless. And this is backed up by the understat league table as well, with Palace 2 places above the barcodes.
I may possibly need to rewatch the match, as my view from the away end wasn't the best, and I agree that we need to do much more in breaking down organised defences, but I think it's a quality (or lack thereof) issue, rather than a systemic one. We are getting in to good positions but the final pass/shot is letting us down. I've said before, we have 8 or 9 players of a decent starting XI atm, and until those 2 or 3 are replaced either by someone from the academy or a signing or 2, we will continue to have these issues.

If you actually took time of forums and sat downHe clearly loved José but a lot of people on here clearly love Ole the player and are dragging that love into there opinions on not wanting to be as harsh as they was with Mourinho. When Ole’s actually performing worse.
Again. Ole is to old to play! You need the right players to do so. I don’t think McTominay is very good passing the ball. And when he makes a pass it takes to much time. Pogba loosing a lot of posession, but can pass. Lindgard not doing well at the moment either. Mata is the only one fit who can, but you loos a lot of pressing power. Maybe Fred can step up when fit, and Garner is to young. There is nothing Ole can do, but motivate them and try and pick the right player on the day. No doubt a CM is first on the transfer wish list.I think we will have to disagree on this. I think this is where the distinction lies: I'm a supporter who supports the team. You and others of your ilk, on the other hand, are consumers who are expecting a service from the team/club and you can't handle us not being particularly great at this moment in time. I also look at the context and see that Ole has had one hand tied behind his back and has been set up to fail by an incompetent board, and yet, he has still turfed out the players who needed to be turfed out years ago.Bore off. He’s a club legend for playing football as a manger we judge him as that. We aren’t Liverpool having false hope like Darglish because of what he done on a football pitch. Stop being a romantic and be a realist. It’s not hard to fathom. Do you still believe in Santa?

Surely you are having a laugh? Fred has been training for a few weeks. He is not up to speed.. He dosent play youth? Not all of them at the same time? Or not at all? Puzzling statement. They couldn’t get one, surely. Did you see the market this summer? But next in line is certainly a CM. The signings so far have been clinical. What?
Maybe Fred (he doesn’t rate Fred). Garner he doesn’t actually play youth does he. If a CM was first on his list why didn’t he bloody get one.
Doesn't play youth, yet has had the youngest starting XI every week since the season startedSurely you are having a laugh? Fred has been training for a few weeks. He is not up to speed.. Sometimes you wonder if there is any point spending your five post a day answering Doesn't play youth, yet has had the youngest starting XI every week since the season started
The hoardes of clueless keyboard warriors on this thread ruined my work output yesterday, I'm going to sign out otherwise it'll be another wasted day.Sometimes you wonder if there is any point spending your five post a day answering

It’s the loss to Palace that doesn’t sit right with me. It was our easiest fixture on paper and one we should never be losing at home regardless of the manager.
Mate, absolutely bang on. The likes of that guy and a few others on this forum as well as social media are literal deadwood. Contribute nothing in terms of debate or support, but want to bask in the vicarious glory and will throw a hissy fit when they don't.
I'd rather us be in the Championship than to be associated with such people if I'm truly honest.
I'll join in with you moaning fecks if we start to look like the second best team on the pitch frequently which was the case under Moyes, LVG and Mourinho. Solskjaer should only be judged on this season, and so far we've been the best side in all our games, pre-season included. Not to mention that the three signings he's made has been our best performers.

I'd also say I'm actually quite realistic on the club. I don't think we're going to win anything of real significance for a while, and I'm even open to the idea that Ole might not be the right man for the job. Where I draw the line though, is being disrespectful to a club legend, and someone who by his actions has put the club before his career.
I think when you're actually a proper supporter of the club rather than a consumer, you're number 1 priority is having some pride in the way the team plays and you then build towards winning trophies. I can handle us losing quite easily, what I can't handle is players who don't give a shit and do nothing to arrest the tide. That has not happened thus far, and the players are all pulling in the same direction even now during this difficult time. Whether they are good enough, only time will tell, but I'm more than happy to give Ole the time to figure it out while working with a squad that was nowhere near fit for purpose last season and has been depleted even more since he arrived.
Weird how when we won 7 in 17 games under Mourinho last season you weren't calling him embarrassing. Pretty sure you were blaming the squad, the owners, and everyone else but him, yet here we are, under Ole, and you're pointing the blame right at him now.We have won 3 out of the last 15. One being Chelsea this season. Do people remember when we beat Watford? They fecking battered us. Pretty sure we were lucky against West Ham as well. That’s the three games we have won.
Embarrasing.
H
That’s your argumentation in a nutshell.
Others has serious concerns about our latest results. If our manager situation is optimal in a long term perspective. If having Pogba in a 2-man midfield is the best way to use our best and most creative player. Selling our best striker without a replacement. Letting both Fellaini and Herrera leave without replacements. Many of our players don’t progress. We don’t seems to have a plan B when we’re one down. Our pressing game isn’t synchronized after eight month. There is no notable patterns in our games. We still make simple mistakes over and over again all over the pitch without correcting it. Our set pieces is awful.
I stop there.
The critic isn’t against a club legend. All of us wants Solksjaer to succeed, get that Pal! My and many others care about Manchester United. I have since 1974 followed this club, players and managers had come and gone. Ole Gunnar is always a legend because his contribution in the CL final 1999. But as a manager he’s paid to take valid criticism. We as supporters must have a chance to voice our concerns without being singled out from posters like you. Accept different opinions. Accept that your view isn’t my view. My and other critics support is as valuable as yours. On game days we support our club 100% and if I saw Solksjaer in person I would support him and wish him the best but I should also voice my concerns if he gave a moment or two to do so.
There are many things he do very well. Clearing out the deadwood is his strongest statement so far. I respect him a lot because it takes guts to take that road. But when we lose my focus is on the negatives, natural reaction if you ask me.

But Mourinho was doing shit too and never looked like turning around yet you refused to blame him for anything. Ole is obviously not good enough and deserves criticism for our performances under him but your double standards when it comes to the two is hilarious. So Ole is doing even worse and somehow you think this is a good response. Before even going into all of that Jose Mourinho has actually proven himself and Ole managed Molde and was relegated with Cardiff. Goodbye.
People need to stop comparing Ole to Klopp, Pep, SAF or Mourinho. He is nowhere near and never will be.
