@The Red Viper

I think we'll be waiting some time now.

When interval Posted that pic of of the shitty Zimbabwe bowler it got me scared thinking that it would nudge everyone's memory of streak lol
We didn't forget. He was on everybody's list

:Lol: one thing I know about drafting is that everyone has the same list. No ways will 15 others miss on a players' existence.

What's your thoughts on not having the toss at all guys like Akshay suggested? Essentially removes debates about how 4th innings will turn more than the 3rd which isn't the idea. Simply assume it will turn equally on both and decide who does better in that case. Same for green top etc.

@Raees

If we are not using the toss then we need to assume how either team would have performed if they batted first or bowl first on similar circumstances.Debate should be based on the either possibilities.

That's really gonna screw up the discussion I feel. First we have to discuss and debate how teams would perform in 3 different scenarios for test matches. Then within that, make points or arguments how Team A will win regardless of batting first or second. There is absolutely no way a team can create such arguments without a whole host of assumptions implied in the discussions. It promotes more ambiguity and sounds like a recipe for disaster imo.

All you have to do is convince people that you will outscore your opponent and can take all 20 wickets. I don't frankly think Toss is that important.

Toss would bring irrelevant points like 'Sachin(just an example. Stat probably not accurate) is poor in 4th innings of games played in green top pitches' and stuff

Without a toss, it's pretty much a straight up comparison to put it bluntly.

Team A has better MO than Team B, so Team A wins no matter what
Team B has better swing bowlers, so Team B wins no matter what

So stats will be included even in that case.

At some point, especially with posters who are a little active, the relevance of the discussions get completely lost in the deluge of posts. It's going to be confusing as hell for participating teams, let alone the voters. Simply put, every bit of the match (and we have 3 of them btw) becomes ambiguous and open to interpretation. There were some absolute car crashes in the T20 draft if I am not mistaken. If a 40 over Match could generate such chaos, imagine what potentially 750 overs of three cricket matches could do.

Anyways, that is my 2p on it. Hopefully others will share their opinion and Varun will make a decision. We still have plenty of time to finalize all those details considering the rapid pace we are moving at.

Yeah, toss helps get a feel of the game and makes the discussion more focused rather than totally generic. I'd keep it, just concerned people don't judge 2 tests by the toss alone.

Molinder Amaranth

Fiery fast bowlers Imran Khan of Pakistan and Malcolm Marshall of West Indies have praised his batsmanship, courage and ability to endure and master pain. In 1982-83 Mohinder played 11 Test matches against Pakistan (5) and the West Indies (6) and scored over 1000 runs in the two series.

In his book "Idols", Indian legend and compatriot Sunil Gavaskar described Mohinder Amarnath as the finest batsman in the world.

Mohinder made his first test century at Perth at the WACA (the fastest and bounciest wicket in the world) batting against Jeff Thomson at his fastest. He followed this test century with another 10 more against top class fast bowling.

Imran Khan regarded Mohinder so highly that in his book "All Round View" he went on record to say that in the 1982-83 season, Mohinder was quite simply the best batsman in the world. Imran further went on to state that Mohinder should have played non-stop for India right from his debut in 1969 to the time he retired. ( After his debut series in 1969, he had to wait until 1975 to make it into the team).
