Meaning? With reinforcements it'll be a different 11 anyway, right?Rule clarification:
You will be allowed to choose different 11s for different matches in the series.

Every match up will be played as a 3 test series. Pitch conditions for each game will be given by me. Voters need to vote based on who they think will win the series. So, team owners can choose to select different 11s from their squad to play each test.

Pitch info for the match ups.
1st test: Good batting pitch but one that has some help for seam bowlers.
2nd test: Good batting wicket but one that will deteriorate as the game goes on and help spinners a lot in the last 2-3 days
3rd test: Green top. Assists pace, seam and swing bowling.
It can be just done as one thread/poll. Like in the NBA draft the question was who will win a series between the two teams, just that this draft's series has different conditions and lineups allowed for each game.Wait, wut?
Why are we doing this? 24 (8x3) 1st round matches?
With 12 players (and most won't play 12th pick) all, how I'll the lineup be different at all? If both parties don't change their line-up we'll need to vote again just for a different pitch?
No, first one favors batsmen and assist bowlers who love to bend their back.Eh? A bit lopsided towards pacers right? 2 pitches that assist pace?

Fair point, I can see the over-eager pushing the pitches as something they are not. Editing it.Yeah. But that would make spinners largely useless in 2 of the three matches but pacers relevant in 2 of three. And even in the third one it is a batting pitch for the first few days and not exactly a dust bowl (spin equivalent of a green top).
I understand the limitations here - you need to have pitches where results are possible.
I'm actually okay with anything. Eddo and Kambli were indomitable on all surfaces.
Nice one!Heres a lovely article from The Hindu,
Herschelle Gibbs often smiled during tough times on the field. Years have rolled by but his eyes, picking out little things around him, continue to laugh.
This South African, with the spirit of a bohemian, was also tough under his skin. Gibbs formed a formidable partnership with Graeme Smith, the only opening pair in Tests with three 300-plus associations.
In the city recently to coach youngsters as part of Golden Goose’s Ultimate Coaching programme, Gibbs recalled his days, opening the innings with Smith in a chat with The Hindu.
The 42-year old Gibbs said, “When you open with somebody you form a special relationship. You are always walking out together. We practised together. We were close off the field too.”
He added, “Both of us were outgoing. We both partied, perhaps he didn’t do it as often as I used to. Cape Town is very much a party place and people enjoy themselves there. But we worked hard on our cricket, set each other high standards.”
Unique credentials
Indeed, Gibbs and southpaw Smith put on 2983 runs at 56.28 in Tests and 3007 at 41.19 in the ODIs. And their three triple century partnerships – 368 against Pakistan in Cape Town, 338 versus England at Birmingham and 301 at the expense of the West Indies at Centurion – lent the pair unique credentials.
Remembering the early days of their relationship, Gibbs said, “Graeme is about eight years younger to me. When he moved down to Cape Town from Johannesburg, I basically took him under my wings. I saw him develop.”
This was a right-left pair of contrasting heights that made the bowlers constantly change their line and length.
Despite the challenging situations, the two often didn’t talk about cricket during their partnerships. Gibbs said “We wanted to take our mind away from the pressures. Sometimes I would ask him if he had spotted somebody in the crowd worth looking at! We kept it as light-hearted as possible.”
Gibbs said opening the innings on the first morning of a Test was among the most demanding jobs in cricket. “It’s the uncertainly of how much the ball is going to do, how much the wicket is seaming or bouncing and how much the conditions would encourage swing. The battle’s so intense.”
On Smith’s batting Gibbs said, “He was a little more gritty, wasn’t as free flowing as I was. But he batted with a lot of heart.” The light-footed Gibbs was a much better player of spin. Though Test cricket is the “real deal” for him, the mercurial Gibbs was involved in a timeless moment in an ODI. It was when South Africa chased down Australia’s 434 to win the sensational game at the Wanderers in 2006. Gibbs smashed 175 and was involved in a vital 187-run stand, this time for the second wicket, with Smith. “It was a world record chase. There was so much pressure. But I enjoyed the ride. It was an adrenaline rush. It was also so emotional,” said Gibbs.
Shoaib Akhtar was the quickest and the most difficult bowler Gibbs faced as “his action made it tough to pick him”. England was the toughest place to play since the ball both seamed and swung, testing technique and footwork more than in any other country.
The interview over, Gibbs was back smiling. He’s like that, full of life and laughter.
When Matthew Hayden retired in early 2009, Watson got a look in at opener and immediately made his mark. Dual half-tons against England at Edgbaston kicked off a happy habit and his first eight Tests atop the order contained one century and seven half-centuries at an average of 63.
He and Simon Katich were a devastating opening pair and averaged 54.39 in their 28 innings together. Watson and Katich have the second-highest average for an Australian opening pair that spent over 20 innings together!
Who the feck is that?
Does this mean there won't be any toss before the games ? That used to be such an important part of the previous test drafts since the discussions used to take place at an innings by innings level. Won't this sort of discussion be more chaotic since teams that fancy themselves in one of the 3 scenarios will obviously push for that test in their posts and the other team will do the same. I'm just guessing at this point though.Pitch info for the match ups.
1st test: Good batting pitch.
2nd test: Slow wicket which gets worse as the game goes on and will assist spinners heavily.
3rd test: Green top. Assists pace, seam and swing bowling.
I want to eliminate luck as much as possible. Ditto about stats from particular countries being used to hype up avg players or put down good ones. We could do a toss but whoever wins and say picks batting, will bat first in all 3 tests. So you have 1 test where it won't matter much as it's a flat track. 1 where it will be an advantage as it aids spinners and 1 where it will be a disadvantage as it's a green top.Does this mean there won't be any toss before the games ? Not 3x matches.
Say you and interval draw each other. There will be just 1 match thread. People will vote on who they think will win a 3 test series between the 2 teams. This is done simply to eliminate the impact the pitch has and to eliminate player stats from particular countries being used to determine results.
Well technically only your bowling strategy should change right? So you need 3 write up's from us, one for each match? At least 2 as you can only make 1 change in R1!

Yeah, that sounds decent. You can also give the person who wins the toss 2/3 matches with the other team deciding the fate of the one test match. Maybe we should ask @crappycraperson on this since he ran a similar draft like this for ODI's if I am not mistaken.I want to eliminate luck as much as possible. Thoughts?
This goes for everybody, first time we'd try something like this so opinions would be good.
We need at least 24 hours per test no? People will need to find the time to read through all our debate shit and then vote. You cant expect them to read through all 3 matchup posts in one day.Yeah, that sounds decent. Is it also in anyway possible to ensure that within the 24hr period, first 8 hours goes for discussions in the first match and so on ? If someone is found violating those discussions, you can give them a warning at first and then dock 1 vote or something for subsequent offences ? That would largely negate discussions meandering towards pointlessness like we saw in the ODI and T20 drafts.
It would be even cooler if we could get individual vote tallying for each of the 8 hour time periods, but I know that is next to impossible.
