Nuri Sahin

Suarez can go wide effectively. Admittedly being on the touchline is not his ideal position, but it's not like he has to go through the middle. This is really besides the point though, because for the sake of the thread, it's clear that Arsenal are stronger than Liverpool overall, regardless of Suarez' existence.

Sure, he can go wide effectively, but not as effectively as a top class proven winger of their calibre.

Up front, he is undoubtedly class.

And yes, Arsenal are definitely stronger than Liverpool. Although I do agree with B9, Liverpool are stronger than what some people think,

He's not that good of a wide man and certainly not as good as Nani or Valencia who are the best wingers in the league. So essentially Suarez is a good player but it's no shame to say he isn't as good as the likes of Van Persie, Rooney, Aguero, Balotelli and Tevez up front. He is a notch below those players.

He is however better than what Arsenal have currently. But that's only because we have a question mark over Podolski and Giroud, they may turn out to settle in quite quickly.

Fair enough.

He's below RVP, Rooney and Aguero, but not Balotelli and Tevez. I'm not quite sure what Balotelli has really proved.

And if Podolski and Giroud turn out as good as Suarez, I'll be pretty happy.

He really is. Wanna fight about it?

That's just silly. You're comparing a centre forward with two typical wingers and try to debate which one of them is the best? Suarez's direct comparison at United would be Rooney and soon van Persie, he isn't even close to either of them.

If Podolski's and Giroud's end product will be close to Suarez's then you'll be in big trouble next season. You need either one of them to knock 20 goals for you or both to be on 15+ to properly make up for the loss of RvP.

Balotelli probably has proved just about as much as Suarez has in the league. While fat Tevez looked a more destructive player than Suarez in the few games he played last year and unfortunately for us he looks a lot leaner in pre-season.

Yeah, but then you're into lot more uncertain territory to say it is 'considerably better'.

Specifically for those two players, yes, but overall they have a considerably better squad and team than you lot.

Suarez is clearly a good player.

Also clearly ver overrated by many. His end-product is missing from being a top notch player.

I'm sure its just that and not the fact his conversion rate is abysmal.

Yeh, but it was only his first season and that will come. He's not the most natural of finishers but if he'd had a decent striker up with him last year he'd have walked the assists table.

Suarez would get into any team in the league. The fact he's a nasty piece of work clouds people's judgement.

Who would he displace at United and City?

In what way is Suarez better than Nani?

I was going to ask 'who would he displace at United (or City)' and Cnut obviously asked the question first; I'm waiting with bated breath for your answer, thank you very much. Oh, and be sure to include 'why.'

Thank you! Oh, and no 118 formations or whatever, thanks!

Wtf does any of this have to do with Sahin?

agreed! so much pointless arguing.

Sahin's would be a great pick up for us, especially if there's a buy clause as speculated by some of the papers. He's absolute class and the thought of him with Allen and Lucas is exciting as heck.

We're still behind the top 4, but Rodgers obviously has a plan and i'm quietly excited about this season. There are some rumors going around that we're still in for a few more players that will address some issues we have in the squad. If you told me at the start of the season that we'd have Borini, Allen, and say 3-4 more players including Nuri WITHOUT losing Agger, i'd be absolutely ecstatic.

had this discussion on another thread, but his finishing for us is unexplainable. He was clinical at Ajax and for country..

Think he will improve this season though.

Sahin has one foot in Liverpool

Liverpool is edging out Arsenal in the chase for Nuri Sahin, whose future could be resolved should Luka Modric finalise his switch to Real Madrid.

I really cannot understand why we are not getting him (even if it is a loan). Unless SAF clearly believs that Cleverley and Ando will play well and not be injured, and even that it is the massive gamble if Carrick will be injured. I think that Sahin is the perfect choice for us but it seems that SAF doesn't likes midfielders anymore.

I don't like the idea of Liverpool getting Sahin and/or Tello...both will to add value to any squad and the thought of the dippers getting stronger even for a year is hard to digest.

Damn. Didn't really expect us to get him; just dissapointed that it's Liverpool. I'd prefer if he goes to RVP, they need some good news after RVP leaving and potentially Song departuring

They will find a way to mess it up, dont worry.

Under Kenny yeah but Rodgers isn't as idiotic as Kenny. A very good signing for Pool strengthening their midfield.

FErgie just cant seem to value midfielders. Strange.

Tello's looked like a one trick pony so far, not sure why anyone would be fussed about them getting him.

Don't understand why anyone would not want Liverpool, our greatest rivals, to be at least moderately competitive with us. Why bother watching football without competitive rivalry?

It is indeed very hard to understand why people might not like the idea of Liverpool being competitive. Almost as if they were rivals.

From what I'm hearing he really wants to join Arsenal but Mourinho has made it quite clear that he wants him to join Liverpool. Unfortunately for him Mourinho holds all the cards, if he really doesn't want him at Arsenal he could turn around and say Liverpool or stay on the bench.

The other half of that rumour says Liverpool are willing to pick up his full wages cost and Arsenal want a subsidy from Madrid.

Inter and Milan are both supposed to be interested in Sahin and are still bending Perez's ear about it.

However, tonight's news is that Sahin didn't train with Madrid this evening, so it sounds like the lucky winner will soon be announced.

Arsenal are a better team for Sahin. I want Sahin to go to Arsenal too. The fact that Mourinho and Wenger are not the best of buddies can be an issue.
But the thing is that Pool need him more. Arsenal have Wilshere, Arteta, Song, Ramsey, Diaby, Frimpong, Rosicky.
