Sorry but I highly rate him. He's a tactically astute pragmatic manager. Modern. Up to date.

You see in the friendly against Arsenal... they are setup to be solid but exciting going forwards,

Now if they fail to win the league that isn't his fault that the owners won't spend big. But he's actually a good manager you can see that in how Spurs play under him.

Not even close to resembling Mourinho's style.

NES has done well wherever he has been, but still a lot of question marks. But looking at it, that was how Pochettino was when Spurs handed him the chance. Then they did a clear out and built a new young team with the likes of Eriksen, Lamela, Kane, etc.

I think that is what they are going for here with NES, a changing of the guard and a rebuild. Will be a few years in the wilderness whilst the team matures and grows is the downside.
 
I went to watch spurs against arsenal yesterday and both teams looked nothing short of dreadful.

I don't think there will be any change of fortune in the near future.

No club the size of Spurs will tolerate “a few years in the wilderness”. Assuming we’re talking about a more remote wilderness than their usual habitat anyway!

Didn’t Poch improve them very quickly anyway?

Like watching a game from last season. Some nice moves, very few chances, abysmal finishing. Unlucky to hit the post, lucky they hit the post and shot straight at Leno.
And you top it off with a ridiculous defensive mistake by Mari with 5/10minutes to go. We were not that bad, just not good enough.
Lokonga and White are looking all right, the rest is cruising through.
 
So far I like him a lot I have to say - he comes across as a really level headed, straight talking passionate guy. I really hope he does well.

He is one of the very few managers who appears really well behaved. I hope he will do well at your club, because he is a good coach too.

I think it helps to follow Mourinho these days too. By comparison to Mourinho's last weeks at a Club, you can only look good.

Haha, bit unfair to judge on a friendly, but Spurs had the few clear cut chances if Dele wasn't awful in front of goal they could of been 3-0 up by the end of the game, the one that hit the post was awful gotta be scoring them.

I actually thought in the first half Arsenal were the better team on the ball they just lacked any real cutting edge.

In my head Arsenal v Spurs is a big game one of the top games on the calendar i suppose in reality we are looking at two mid table clubs in different stages of progression.

I would find it hard to be excited about Spurs as if Kane is sold and not adequately replaced they are toothless.

By wilderness I mean not top four, I think the top four is already locked in before the season even commences. Id love to be proven wrong but I just dont see the chasing pack of Hammers, Leicester, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs closing the gap.

I think about 6th-7th is right for a new look Spurs side with no Kane.

I believe Poch improved the team relatively swiftly. Remains to be seen if NES is as good as Poch in that department however.

I was admittedly underwhelmed with his appointment but I've really liked everything I've seen and heard from him so far.
 
Only 3 goals scored in first 5 games. North London Derby and Villa next. Genuinely can't believe Spurs, Arsenal and Everton have these super-negative managers.
 
Imagine ending up with this guy when your fans want more attacking football after Mourinho. Ridiculous appointment.
 
I wonder how happy Harry Kane really is with his current situation.

Pretty even first half between the teams but Tottenham fell appart in the 2nd
 
1 goal from open play in their first 5 games. Yikes.
 
They’re in big trouble this season. Played well against city but have been absolutely shocking since then.
Kane’s application today was nowhere near it normally is and if that carries on they’ll finish bottom half.

Probably a move that was always going to end in disaster. He’s a lot like modern day Jose, maybe marginally better, but without the history of trophies that Jose has. You do wonder what the thought process was behind hiring him. Pretty much every complaint that one would have had regarding Mourinho and his brand of football, you could just swap his name in and it will be the same.
 
He is a shitter Mourinho. Only game that Spurs looked competent in was against City, the rest of them have been trash.

Surely there was someone in the championship or one of the other leagues in Europe that was worth taking a chance on rather than him. He’s a known quantity in the PL. Surely they can’t be surprised as to what they’re getting now.
 
I will never understand why they hired him, it's a really bad fit.

I hope we get to play them before he gets sacked.

No idea, but they really were all the place in getting a new manager. From that mess they have got a somehwat decent manager.
 
His Wolves side were an atrocious watch.

But he did a solid job with them. They probably couldn't have done much better but it seems a strange cultural fit. Spurs always have pretensions that they play an attacking brand of football.
 
I still think he’ll get them to finish 5th (or 6th) which is where they should be and perhaps win a trophy for the first time in a long time since they’re in 3 cups where they have a decent chance to do it.

But if they wanted great football then it won’t be enough
 
Feel for him taking over the Kane situation…

Think Levy would’ve been better off selling Kane and reinvesting as Villa did.

Nuno then would’ve had his own players and a happy team.

Levy’s pride and ego was always going to hurt Spuds at some point, unfortunate for Nuno that it coincided with his move there.
