I think he’s about par on good games v bad games this season now.

If he’s going to play in this system it has to be RCB. And with how limited our midfielders are on the ball, for the sake of buildup I think he and Martinez kind of have to be playing
Makes sense

Weakest link when played as wingback in our formation. He went under the radar and escaped criticism for a while because he wasn't making obvious mistakes but he was contributing nothing offensively, slowing down play, and crowding the area Amad should be in because he's allergic to maintaining width. He also can't run, like just does not make runs. A ball over the type or in behind for a Maz making a run in behind out wide is a collector's item. It should be bread and butter for that position.

Fans didn't notice because Dalot would receive the ball a lot and waste it, which is easier to notice vs not receiving the ball because you're never giving the passer the option (which is much worse than Dalot's wastefulness).

I've been going on about it every match, but now that he's also struggling defensively, folks are starting to focus on him more and notice.

Been awful since we moved him to wing back.

Didn’t have a single bad game at RCB, or FB under ten hag.

Clearly can’t play the position, so why keep playing him there?!?!

Can't play as a WB.
Can't play as a WB.
Can't play as a WB.
Can't play as a WB.
Can't play as a WB.
Can't play as a WB.

I'm going to keep chanting this in the hope that it makes it way across to Amorim via the spirit world.

Can't play as a WB.

He needs two things - a rest and a manager who tries to do a bit better creating an environment where his weaknesses aren't as exposed.

I would have rested him today, and he clearly can’t play WB so should be one of the 6 CBs in the squad and used in rotation.

I have no idea why Amorim moved away from that. I’d rather Dalot at right wing back and literally anyone else on the left than what we’re watching now.

I can only think he’s gone to three pure centre backs to help on set pieces, because anyone can see this isn’t working.

Was great at RB. Was great at RCB. Has been underwhelming at best in every performance at wing back, so naturally that's where we play him every game.

It's unbelievable that fans can easily discern this but the manager can't. Maz is outstanding as a right back and very good in that right centre half role. His poor form is entirely on Amorim at this point, is abysmal team selection. Statistically United are almost guaranteed to lose when him and Dalot either side as wingbacks.

Sure, It works against top teams but when the impetus is on United to win the game it continues to fire up blanks.

He's not a wingback and Antony is going to Betis so we need a RWB other than Amad. Best hope is us getting a wingback this month. Someone who can play on both sides or LWB and Dalot moving to right. Dalot isn't great there but probably better than Mazraoui.

It's on Amorim for playing him there all the time now.

Was great at RCB, surprised we haven’t immediately moved him back there. Not sure why Amorim feels we need both De Ligt and Maguire out there.

Set pieces. Which we're still poor on, but at least if you have both your tall and should be good in the air CBs on the pitch you can say you covered it as best as you could

Do you think it’s worth the tradeoff? Worse in possession and open play but better on set pieces?

I think we're shit in open play regardless and only Lisandro is particularly good in open play from our CBs, so having Mazraoui in for Maguire or de ligt and not having Lisandro wouldnt have changed that much

On set pieces... I think its what you have to do. How can you keep conceding from set pieces and not make changes to the team to make that area stronger and hope to keep your job?

He needs a rest. Showed enough class earlier on in the season. Agree with those probably should keep him at RCB.
I think that's hurting him more than his position, he has only played this much football in his career once 6 years ago.

Ultimately, he's a decent squad player and not a starter for a top team but you could say that about a few other players.

His game has regressed ever since he moved to the WB position, which is rather surprising as posters mentioned that he was great in the attacking WB role for Ajax.

Not sure which nutters said this but very early doors it was obvious he’s not a great athlete. Not blessed with pace, stamina and general athleticism. He’s a neat and tidy player. Play him at rcb or rb and he’s perfectly fine, as he was.
Amorim is chucking him under the bus playing him as an attacking wing back.

Form slump, it happens. The problem with United is we have no bloody replacement.

He has to play, it's an absolute mess.

He's got worse as every player we bring, start off good and then fading to awful.

He's not a wingback, doesn't have the speed nor the attacking output. His best games were as RCB, I think he should be played there. He has enough technical and defensive ability to dominate as a right CB in a back 3. I'd move him there and return Amad to RWB. It's clearly not working with Dalot and him on the back wings.

That loss was on him, done in fairly amateur fashion for their first two goals. He is really struggling to get his positioning right as a wing back. The others must really be shite if we have to keep playing him there.

His worst game to date. He seems much more effective as a RCB as opposed to a right wing back. It’ll be interesting to see what Amorim’s long term plan is. I’m sure he’ll want a better attacking option at RWB, but we have so many glaring needs I’m not sure the budget will allow for that any time soon. Maybe he needs a rest, but he seems to lose focus defensively quite regularly.
