Nordic Ghost Yeti (Scandi Carroll) | Haaland at City

Cheats are a one man team.
Take him out and more than likely they score the same amount just more evenly spread.

The biggest and best flat track bully in the history of the game. Surely another blank on the way on Sunday.

He should go to Barcelona IMO.
Seeing as they just got rid of Gundogan because they couldn't afford him (and of course he had to come back to City ), I highly doubt this will happen.

Hopefully he'll have no choice but to find a new club once City get relegated and can no longer pay his wages because the owners are forced to feck off.

Will they?
Haaland: 20 shots - 9 goals
Rest of City: 46 shots - 2 goals
He was out from their squad last year for a bit through injury and had some dry(relative by his standards) spells and yet city didn't miss a beat.

Prior to his arrival they weren't doing too bad either.

I feel like he was more aesthetically pleasing to watch at BVB. And I’m not even saying he is a tap in merchant either just that for the worlds best striker he isn’t exactly entertaining to watch but I guess when you bang goals in goals at the rate he does it doesn’t matter but when he ghosts in those big matches you see he doesn’t really offer much else.

I wish our strikers could score more tap in goals. People looking down at tap in goals must have not realised the work behind it. Our Ruud was famous for tap in but thats because we created loads of chance for him, it meant our team worked as a team instead of individuals.

Well, I don't think he will go to Madrid either. I can see Havertz ending up there instead, as he would be a much better fit for their team than Haaland IMO. But then again maybe with Yamal in the team, that statement could be true for Barca as well. If the kid is going to produce 50 G/A seasons in a few years' time from the wing, a facilitator type like Zirkzee/Cunha/Joao Pedro is probably a much better addition up front than a poacher type scoring machine in Haaland. The same goes for Madrid's wide players. When you have Haaland, it's better to have wingers that are excellent at ball retention with their main objective being feeding the striker with great chances, or low-block breakers who take a bit more risk, like Doku or Savinho.

This is one of my worries at United too, with Rashford being an inside forward first and foremost, and Hojlund being mainly a poacher type. It's already clear that Zirkzee playing instead is a much more comfortable scenario for Marcus. Also, Sancho could've been a very good player to complement the Dane, if only he didn't decide to throw his United career away 2 weeks into last season.

Seems he can only score in the Premier Farmers League these days.

Has any got stats against the top 6 and best in Europe? He must have a good record against us but I can’t remember him scoring too many goals against the other top 6.

Here you go:

Top teams in England (Man Utd, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Villa, Chelsea)
18 goals and 9 assists in 34 games

Against top 4 in Germany (Leverkusen, Leipzig, Bayern) + CL vs teams from Italy, Spain & PSG:
35 goals and 5 assists in 35 games

So total:
53 goals and 14 assists in 69 games
0,77 G/game and 0,97 G+A/game vs. top teams in Europe top 5 leagues.

To put that in perspective we could compare to Kane and Salah vs. the same teams + BVB:

Kane:
0,50 G/game and 0,64 G+A/game
Salah:
0,55G/game and 0,76 G+A/game

Since this is a very stat or numbers oriented thread, it triggered me as a side note sthg. that always bothered me and it's quite a sign of our times (specially since the 00's).
The somehow glorification of hattricks (or even doubles).

Yet they are great in the moment, but they tend to give to the very least a misguided idea when it comes to %.
I'll always preffer a one goal per game perfomance (or a constant of a goal every two matches) in a Tournament or a streak of tons of consecutive matches scoring a single goal, than a hattrick here or there with a couple, three or more games without scoring.
There are seasons from many players, even way back then in the past from Di Stefano days and before, that might end in a great "goal per game %" at the end of the season but with many games without scoring.

Another thing related to streaks it's that many players lost their touch sometimes for instance during the start or the end of the season (or sometimes scoring very few goals in a particular KO competition), this tend to be more problematic for the perfomances of their team, even if at the end of the day the particular player scored more goals than the season before where he spread his goals more evenly.

Also, as a side note within this side note, and even if goals are goals no matter how they are converted. Lots of people would be quite suprised of the ammount of penalty goals R9 and Maradona had in their Serie A tenure, or even recently in CRs Juve days.

In many ways it generates that extra glow that also have the scoring in late stages of KO comeptitions or against big rivals, of course this are the ones that we like more, but it's also sometimes more important to be there scoring since day one in group stages (toe evn rach KO stages) or since the first game of the League till the last day, than those more shining circumstances

I wish stats were more focused in consecutive goals streaks and as a derivative goals regarding the actual minutes in the pitch (even if this last one also can be misguiding), than the overall simplification that many times involves the: "that fella scored 20 goals in 25 matches last season", not few times it tend to "look" a lot better than it actually was.

Will easily break Shearer's record if he stays for a few more years. Beyond world class player.

I can't help but feel a bit sick in my stomach every time he scores for City knowing we had multiple chances to sign him and messed it up.

Nailed it!

One goal in a league game, after how many tries at it? He also had a half against 10 men to get it done and he couldn’t. He should have been sent off too.

Top CBs will always have his number I’m afraid.

Look at what the likes of Messi and Ronaldo have done over the years in the very, very biggest games. To quote me after that performance is laughable.

He is a tap-in merchant, he would have struggled massively for us as we wouldnt have put goals on a plate for him like City do.

"the likes of Messi and Ronaldo" make me chuckle. As if they're not the two best players in the known history of the universe.

Sorry, is that not what he is being compared to in most circles? The hyperbole is off the charts. They are the best players of the last generation and Haaland is spoken of as the best player in this current one.

It’s a comparison that is made everywhere, and constantly.

You literally said he'd draw a blank. Did he? Also how many tries at what?
