Gaming Nintendo Switch

This game is getting some really great reviews from many. Not sure if it's my sort of thing. Reminds me a little of Super Meat Boy in the way that it plays, and i hit a brick wall with that game. Maybe get it if it's on sale sometime.

I bought Stardew Valley. And I actually took my Switch out of the dock. Enjoyable game even though I don't really know what I'm doing. Chopped down a lot of trees, though.
Same, I'm almost through the first fall and I'm not really sure why I keep going.

I was toying with the idea of buying this some time ago. Heard that it suited the Switch really well and can be pretty addicting. Watched some videos and it didn't really grab me. Still on the fence with it.

I was the same. Give me another week or so and I'll give you a yay or nay on it.

Up for Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon this weekend if anybody else is?

I keep hearing this. I’m gonna have to buy it.

It's addictive, difficult and controls incredibly well.

My only complaint is that the game is much more suited to a d-pad, which one of the Switch's only flaws in my opinion.

My 8BitDo controller works perfectly on the Swtich. The retro d-pad makes Celeste much easier to control :D

Ive never really got into those platformers where you climb and slide down walls (Super Meat Boy like). It does look great tho.

Battery life on the joycons is amazing. So refreshing being able to use the console all day without having to swap and charge (here's looking at you PS4).

When would people say we're looking at a slight price drop in these?

I badly want to get it but the issue is that I'm not sure I can justify paying that amount of money when the only two games that really have me wanting to buy it are Mario Kart and Zelda (Mario Odyssey as well actually). Huge Mario Kart fan so I'm clucking to play it. I haven't done enough research, are there currently many other good games available that are only available on the Switch or many that are coming out over the course of the next 6 months or so?

I'm also put off by the fact it costs 60 fecking quid for a controller

I need you to give me all of the pro's and con's to help me make a decision.

Apparently not any time soon. It’s incredibly popular so no reason to lower the price. I had the same issue as you and inquired myself, but no price drop in sight apparently.

I doubt it mate - it's selling like how cakes so until sales start slowing why reduce it?

There's plenty of great games on the Switch - and even ones that aren't exclusive but are still 'better' because they are now portable. (e.g. Stardew Valley) Personally I love my Switch - my first Nintendo console since my N64

For me the killer games are:
  • Super Mario Odyssey
  • Zelda
  • Mario and Rabbids
  • Mario Kart 8
  • Arms
And my favourite indie games are Stardew Valley and SteamWorld Heist (again the best way of playing these).

This year I'll be picking up... Donkey Kong, Mario Tennis and Kirby.

Sure there are other games not been announced yet too.

And yes the controllers are expensive - I can't counter that one :)

I find the lack of Xenoblade 2 disturbing.
Go have some depressive fun. :D

Bought Lost Sphear, hoping for another old-school jrpg adventure. I'll give a review when I feel comfortable if people are interested.

note: still working (slowly) on a rpg review thread, will probably not be out in a long, long time.
