Gaming Nintendo Switch

Xenoblade chronicles 2 is one i'm looking forward to.
Yea that looks a good 'un.

Still, 2018 looks a bit empty so far no?

Then again when I got my PS4 originally there was bugger all on it for a few years and now I'm buying loads, gotta think long term I spose.

People moaned the first year was going to be shit, but it turned out to be one of the best first years ever.

There's Wolfenstein, Yoshi, Metroid Prime, numerous Square Enix games, Fire emblem amongst the big hitters we know about so far, and at least 20-odd indie games coming out the first month or two alone. You can bet there's plenty more that haven't been announced too and there'll be more cross platform games.

I already ordered it

Also people need to stop moaning about 2018. Did anyone this time last year know what the switch had lined up besides Zelda? No. In the space of a year we had Odyssey, Splatoon 2 and Mario Rabbids. As well as Xenoblades 2.

Next year we’d get hopefully the old classics. Strong rumours the Pokemon game will be out. Then I expect Nintendo to announce and release a few more titles.

I've changed my mind from wanting a 4KTV and PS4 Pro to wanting one of these now.

Any early Christmas deals on them yet?

The £280 with Mario deal was the best you would have gotten. I don’t expect many greater deals than that as it is selling quite well.

I know right? It's all the little touches that just make it sublime. Easily one of, if not the most consistent worlds ever created.
It seems like there's still loads to do, and even if I'm not doing anything it's just great to wonder around

This was just posted on HUKD - £269.99 for either the grey or neon ones.

I decided to buy LA Noire as I'll be away for quite a while for Christmas and won't mind having more games to play, it actually runs and plays very well and despite all the hate for needing an SD card to run, it is a great port. It's been 6 years since I played the original so I don't remember the story and it feels like a new, good game.

Will probably get Xenoblade Chronicles 2 delivered tomorrow or Monday. Plenty to play through Christmas as I still have Zelda and Mario halfway through, Mario + Rabbids barely started. What a console.

I remember hating LA Noire. Especially the c*nt you play as. I wanted to kill myself.

Just picked up a Switch Pro Controller. £55 on Amazon, the cheapest I've seen.

I don't know if I'm dead on the inside but I'm not finding Mario to be anything out of the ordinary...?

Considering your last post was moaning about the amount of super hero films there are, I think you might just be getting older and more miserable.

I'd enjoy super hero films if they weren't the same rehashed garbage over and over.

;)

These things are what they are though. You don't watch a super hero film expecting a deep and thoughtful story, and you don't play a Mario and expect anything other than polished and rather creative platforming.

Or you just are getting more and more of a grumpy old git, which is more likely tbf.

I was like that at 1st. But it clicked and then became a 10/10 for me

Yup, I'm hoping for the same.

I'm only 26. Wonder what I might be like in 3 or 4 years?

As for the super hero stuff, when there's been about 20 films in the last 4 or 5 years (rough estimate), something has to give. I can't really get myself excited about the Avengers, for the third time.

Right, I'm not there yet. I think I'll enjoy it even more when I receive my Pro Controller. It's already a very good game.

Is the Pro Controller a must have accessory?

Or would the two Joy Cons placed in the controller grip suffice?

Just seems a lot of money for a bloody controller.

I thought that may be the case.

It's just so damn expensive for what it is!
Just for the record, I wasn't saying it's essential, I was just agreeing with you that it's expensive (although I'm sure I paid £50 odd quid for an extra DS4 at one point). I'll tell you tomorrow what I think of it.

Ah, right. Cool.

Yeah, would appreciate that.

Honestly, I prefer the joycons seperate in most games, especially Zelda and Mario. The pro is a really good controller though, better than the Xbone and PS4 ones for me.

That does actually sound the it would be way more comfortable. Lot more freedom with your movement and seems like it would be more ergonomic.

Well Zelda gains an instant advantage with the aiming, Mario is specifically designed to have extra little cool things this way. Plus the HD rumble really can work amazingly if used right. Splatoon 2 definitely wins out with it though for me, if you adjust the sensitivity properly, there's no competition at all. But I do also prefer MK8 this way, obviously arms too, and probably will Doom when I get it.

The pro is a really good controller though, it's expensive, but like I say out of the big 3 it works best for me as I hate the DS and the Xbox controllers always just seem so uncomfortable.

Yeah, Mario seems like it would be optimal to be played like that (purely based on the fact that i've played Mario Galaxy on the Wii with a controller in each hand and it felt great), but surprised to hear that MK8 also suits this way of playing.

I was lucky enough to have Odyssey free with the console (when it eventually arrives!) and i'm going to buy Zelda, obviously, and MK8 so i should be good with just the Joy Cons for now.

It would be nice to have the Pro controller though just so i don't have to constantly remove the Joy Cons from the tablet when in docked mode.
It's just the price. I don't mind paying that for a game, but for a controller i just find it a bit steep.

I'm boycotting because of the character's costumes. Disgusting bigotry.

You’d come running back and buy it. They always do.

Just like the resetera/neogaf folks who say they planning on boycotting RDR2 due to poor working conditions, posting from their smartphones which were made in luxurious Chinese factories...
