Personally I just use the joycon controllers separate as they are. For Zelda, Mario, Splatoon I find them way above the pro controller, Mario Kart too. The only extras I've bothered with so far are another set of joycons (so we can play 4-player MK mainly, which surprisingly works extremely well even with those tiny controllers, in fact it adds a bit of extra skill ) and a screen protector.
BTW you can buy a little attachment that lets you use a PS4/Xbone controller too, but I've not tried it myself. I'm happy with the joycons.
