Gaming Nintendo Switch

Those Neon Yellow joycons

So Mario Kart this month, Street Fighter in May with Splatoon 2 and ARMS in June and July, it's not so bad.

If a Pokemon and Animal Crossing come out on this I'm spunking everywhere.

Finally got back to Zelda as I am travelling. I haven't progressed that much with the game, mostly wandering about opening the towers and completing shrines to boost my health and stamina. There is no other way to boost your character aside from shrines, is there? Playing this with 4 hearts beyond first two or three locations is impossible.

I put myself in a corner weapon wise i.e. I don't have any. Is there any way to increase my storage capacity? Carrying this few weapons is almost brutal. I am gonna have to buy some now or use bombs to cut down trees.

And how the feck do I create potions? Cooking? But recipes have to come from somewhere.

I am so Zelda clueless.

Should be getting MK8 with the joycon wheel today. Finally something else to play on the switch.

Anyone else buying it again?

Yeah I can't wait for Friday. I didn't own a Wii U either so I've not tried MK8, I'm going into a brand new game for me.

For people that have already purchased one of these, how are your models holding up? Any defects/issues to be aware of? I'm always wary when going for the first iteration of a particular model; but at the same time I'm ready to buy if all is good.

Yep, got more joycons for it too :)

I've not had a single issue, not even a game crash. Get a decent screen protector just in case, but other than that, it's been all good for me so far.

Cheers. I've not ever played a Zelda game before so looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about!

My playtime is racking up with this thing (mainly because she Zelda, granted).

I can see myself using this much more than my other consoles in the long run, providing the games keep coming.

I think the Virtual Console needs to hurry up. I can see myself retro gaming a lot more on handheld than I do with my PC.

Mario Kart tomorrow, Arms in a month, must say it's been a blast so far with this one.

A lot of the store stuff is perfect for this thing too. I wouldn't get those Neo Geo games on any other console for example, Blaster Master/Shovel Knight are great for handheld and I'm definitely going to get Wonder Boy soon. I'm even looking forward to SSF2 even though it's a bit of a rip off considering there's not a whole lot of new content.

Do it - the price of second hand consoles and games have dropped considerably since Switch came out.

Yeah, I just might. Apart from Zelda there is not a single Switch game that appeals to me, and they are taking their sweet time with VC. The catalogue at the Wii U is pretty good, especially with the VC.

Got Mario Kart! Cannot wait to play it when I get home.

Regarding Wii U v Switch, well two of the best Switch games are also available for Wii U and one of them is considerably cheaper. There is also the Mario 3D game that's absolutely fantastic. I don't doubt that Switch is fantastic and I am absolutely loving it so far but I understand how someone might prefer to wait. Once Splatoon 2, Arms (getting incredible hype from Edge), Mario Odyssey, NBA and FIFA are out, this console is going to be the shit.

It got Shovel Knight on the weekend. It's great, can't believe it went under my radar until now. Very easy to drop in and out of when I don't fancy Zelda.

I know the 8-bit thing is part of the charm, but a nice HD version would be great. I guess I'm just so in awe of Wonderboy.

Mario Kart is absolutely brilliant, and anyone worried about the graphics vs the Wii-U version were wrong.

It's brilliant, and the use of HD rumble when you boost is subtle but spot on. I'm happy now after the worry.

Turned off that drive assist thing, it wasn't letting me take short cuts

Also why is there no trophy celebrations at the end of each cup?

And when a lightning item is uses why don't all the characters affected turn tiny in the little map?

Why can't I remember how to do a speed start?

Drive assist is shit, even for beginners.

Dunno about the celebrations, but that is weak. Agreed.

The map thing again is a rare little touch they missed.

Press accelerate just after '2'.

Had a tournament with my kids and was soundly beaten

I'm not sure how I feel about it.

What do old lions do when their young become stronger?

Really enjoying Mario Kart, I've been playing 2 player split screen all day it's been years since I've done this.

I went out and bought a pro controller today also, it's a great pad I love the feel of it.

I tried the Puyo Puyo Tetris demo last night. I thought I was pretty good at Tetris but the CPU players were kicking my arse
Was considering buying the game but they can get fecked @ €40 purely on principal.

Hopefully it will go on sale late in the year.i rarely moan at prices of games, but Tetris should not be that much

Well, it's not just Tetris TBF, but yeah, with so many different Tetris games out there it does seem a bit hard to pay full price for.
